I tried taking a computer science course but I got so frustrated that I dropped out. I didn’t even last a few weeks into one summer course at a community college. I might have dipped out too early but I think I made the right decision.
I love charts, and this was super informative. I can distinctly recall every point on that curve in my journey from software developer to real estate investor. There are new curves I'm on now. This is fantastic context. Thank you.
Hey Vicky! I definitely got a lot from this video since I'm in a position where I'm pivoting my training business. I'm most likely at the Crisis of Meaning point, but trending upwards. Happy to know that if i persevere and skill up, success is around the corner! Thanks for sharing!
I didn't truly understand the importance of perseverance and building skills over time until I finally decided to trust the process works. Worked for me!! Hopefully it'll give you a few pleasant surprises too Kev!!
Love your graphic explanation of the emotional curve, Vicky. I have a similar one I use in my workshops that deals with the cycle of vision (vision casting, disillusionment, re-casting, etc.) You're a great communicator. Keep it up!
Oh man Vicky! Early-entrepreneur Kamara would have really needed this! She pivoted so many times and experimented until something really stuck. Crisis of meaning was a frequent experience for me.
You're so right about how with time, your skill increases and you might not see it coz in the day to day of plodding along it's sometimes hard to see the bigger picture. Great graph, very handy!
it's funny how we always focus on the fleeting nature of time without stopping to breath in and realize we've come a long way! That's why your channel is so awesome, providing time to reflect!
Great video, Vicky! I’m 52 and I’m considering a pivot in my business. I’ve made musical instruments for 30 years, 22 as a sole proprietor. Your chart is great! I’ve got expert skills but I’m considering a pivot away from those skills and moving to a different skill set. It’s a bit confusing even though I have a ton of experience. Keep up the good work! I’m going to share this video with my kids. It’s super informative in multiple ways.
Thank you David for sharing! Wow I can only imagine how you can take all 30 years of learnings and apply it to new situations. Please keep me posted on how you go!
The most exciting place to be haha!! Knowing the curve helped me stay mentally sane when I eventually got to the crisis of meaning so hopefully it can help you get across to the other side too Jackie :D
Great video! Very well explained, this really resonates with me and my past experiences. :) I have had that thought to pivot many times. I tend to not always fully drop it and move on. I just postpone it and see why I was not successful and try again later.
That reflection is so hard! I sometimes want to run away from the reasons why things aren't working. But seeing your videos, it's really encouraging to know taking the time to try again is so worth it!
somehow managed to overcome the deep curve of crisis meaning. pivoted a lot, now we are having much more clarity in what we should do next in our business! graphical presentations really helps :)
Yes i wondered many times! pivoting is never a bad thing, it's a stepping stone to success, but it is so important to nail the right time to do it. thank you for the insights!🙌
Have you ever wondered if you should pivot or change direction in what you're doing?
I love this Vicky. Love the information because it's all SO true. Very inspiring thank you.
So glad you think so Sandra! It was definitely the experience I had many times over haha!!

Whenever I think of the word pivot I think of that episode from FRIENDS when Ross is moving a couch.
Can definitely relate!

I recently did a post of my experience in pivoting and how 2020 made me do this change without forgetting about experiences. Great video Vicky!!
Love this! Happy to support individuals on my same niche. This is really really helpful! 💯

I recently pivoted and it was the best decision! Thanks for this :)
This is so useful! Had a few lightbulb moments as I listened to you.
YES! 100% couldn't have said it better. It really takes a great deal of self awareness to be able to come to these conclusions and pivot. Thank you
Thank you for the useful information! :)
