Another great video Andy and fantastic pickups. The Bill Walton was my favorite but all of them are excellent. Big Congrats on the great additions and thanks for sharing.
Hi Andy, wow you showed us some great cards ! First time i seen this beautiful vintage hockey set ! Tough choice but in this video my favourite card is the 1969 Topps Gale Sayers because like you said this set is a beautiful colorful set and also because he signed my TTM request when he was a fundraiser for the Univeristy of Kansas. I WOULD LOVE have a LCS at 5 minutes from my home , except for my wallet...😁. This Sunday , a very interesting game Colts Vs Broncos at Mile High stadium. For this game the Colts are the underdogs and they don't have the abit to play outdoor in altitude and in the cold, but who knows ? Anthony Richardson is here...😁. Have a great week and enjoy your Collection.
Hi Fabien! I like that hockey set and they’re pretty reasonable priced. Nice way to get some hall of famers. The Sayers is such a beautiful card. That’s amazing he signed your TTM request. Colts and Broncos will be very interesting. Broncos win they’re pretty much in the playoffs and the Colts need to win to still have a chance. We’ll see. Have a great weekend!
Gave a video like. All great pick-ups! Love the '71 set! The hockey card of Plante is fantastic! I've been doing more of that myself. Put a bid on cards I would love to have but don't need to have right now. The type of bid that I don't think it would end up selling for, though wouldn't want to miss out on it if it did. Occasionally, I'm thrilled that I did when I win one! Always a great feeling. Great video, Andy.
You had a very nice November, Andy! Great cards added to the collection. The Sayers is a beauty and it’s nice to get it at a discount. The Simmons is a really great card and yours looks so clean. A card shop only 5 minutes away? That’s trouble 😄 but very cool to have. For years there wasn’t a shop here in town except a Pokémon one but a new one with sportscards too opened recently so that’s nice. They even started hosting a card show at a mall! Feels like the old days a bit. Thanks for sharing, Andy. I hope you’re having a great week!
Hi Hugo! That’s great you have a new card shop in your area. For years we only had the Pokémon and Magic card shops so glad one opened in my area. Thanks for the kind words on my pickups. The Sayers is such a beautiful card. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Hope all is well with you and have a great weekend!
Awesome additions Andy. The Simmons is great. The color on the Sayers is amazing. Nice Walton for the run. I forgot you got that Plante. That is a such a great card. I may have to look for one of those at some point. Enjoyed my friend. Talk to you soon.
Thanks, Greg! I agree the colors on the Sayers just pops. Love that card. The Plante card is pretty cheap. I think it’s a great way to get a great goaltender in a nice grade without breaking the bank. Thanks for the kind words Greg! And appreciate the comment. Hope all is well and talk to you soon.
Some awesome pickups Andy! The 71 Topps set is one of my favorites and that is a sweet Ted Simmons addition. I love the 69 Sayers card, the coloring on that one just pops! RIP Bill Walton, what an amazing player he was. $20 for a Plante card in an 8 is a good deal. You know I enjoy getting cards graded, I like having them in slabs, and like you, it will make it easier on my loved ones when I am gone. The cost to grade cards does eat into the hobby budget, lately I have been seeing some really solid deals on cards already graded like the ones you added and I am thinking that may be the direction I take for a bit! Have a great week, talk soon!
Hi Steve! I know a lot of people don’t like the ‘71 but like you I’m a big fan. And the Sayers just pops. Such a pretty card. For $20 I’m not complaining about the Plante card. I’ve never graded a card and wish I could bring myself to do it. The price eating into my budget does make me hold back but like you mentioned, if you can find graded cards for the cost of grading. That’s a good way to go. I think it’s a great idea that you’re doing that. Thanks for your thoughts and sharing them with me. I appreciate it. Hope all is well.
Awesome pickups Andy! Love the 81 Ted Simmons, that’s a great card! The Gale Sayers is beautiful! Love the colors on that card! Nice Big Red, that is a great addition to your collection! Great variety here! Love it!
Thanks, Jim! I agree that the Sayers is just a beautiful card. The whole thing just pops. I’m pretty happy with the Simmons but not sure what I’m going to do yet. I’m glad I checked another Bill Walton card off the list as well. Thanks for the kind words, Jim! Hope you’re doing well and having a great week!
Hi Andy, I really enjoyed seeing your recent pickups that span the four major sports! The Sayers card is my favorite of his. The Series 1 1969 Topps cards without borders make for such a sharp design. It’s hard for me to pick a favorite set, but that one has to be up there. I still need to add the Ted Simmons rookie at some point. It’s great that the price has dropped quite a bit-I just need to pull the trigger. Much like the ’79 Topps baseball set, the basketball set is an underappreciated design with some beautiful photography. Walton's time with the Clippers may not have been memorable due to injuries, but I’m a fan of that card. Congrats on the Plante, too! The Dad's cards are a real bargain, and you picked up a nice one. I completely understand how you feel about grading and planning for the future. The sets you’ve built are such an important part of your collecting journey, and I’m sure they weren’t easy to put together. While I don’t know your kids personally, I have a strong feeling they’ll appreciate them someday. Knowing that these cards once belonged to you-and seeing how much you cherished them-will give them meaning beyond just the hobby. Sharing your passion for collecting with your son is a wonderful thing. Even if he drifts away from it for a while as he comes of age, I believe that connection will stay with him. Nostalgia has a way of bringing us back to the things we once loved as we get older. Take care, Terry
Hi Terry! It’s hard to beat that Sayers. It’s such a beautiful card. I agree, I prefer the series 1 in that set with no borders. My son I think will appreciate my collection. My daughter I think will probably sell it quickly, haha. I’m not sure what I’m going to do, but will figure it out over time. Either way I was pleased with how the Simmons looked. Same with the Walton. I like cards with guys shooting free throws and looked really clean to me. The Plante was too cheap to pass up. I was pleasantly surprised I won it. Thanks for the kind words about collecting with my son. I know I drifted from collecting but came back and enjoy it once again with my dad. Thanks, Terry! Hope you have a great weekend!
Hi Andy! Great pickups, my friend. The Gale is beautiful. I love the background color. Also, your Simmons looks amazing. You don’t see too many of those that are as appealing as yours. Thanks for sharing and have a great day, buddy!
Hey Rob! Thanks for watching and the comment! The Sayers card just pops. I also like how that set doesn’t have a border. Thanks for the compliment on the Ted Simmons. I was happy to have it but still not sure what my plan is going to be with my collection. Thanks for the kind words and hope you’re doing well!
Congrats on hearing about the closer LCS and tell your wallet I’m sorry!! Haha The Simmons is such an underrated great looking HOF rookie card. The ‘69 football set is one I always enjoy seeing with all of its color. I keep thinking about picking up a Sayers or Jim Brown card but haven’t yet. Great stuff Andy!
Oh my goodness what a showcase!!! I actually just missed out on a Dads Cookies of Bobby Clarke. That Plante is an absolute stunner and speaking of stunners, that Sayers is one I’ve been after off and on for years now. Like you, I love that vibrant color pop surrounding his image. I’ve come so close to buying at one lcs here, it’s just overpriced and I can’t make myself. What a great add. Love the Ted Simmons and think the same way about grading vs breaking up sets as well as resell in case of something happening to me. Love that Bill Walton. I do miss his commentary. Actually thought of you today on my walk because I listened to an interview with Artis Gilmore about the ABA. Also…HUGE THANK YOU for the Christmas card and cards. That really means a ton. Thanks again and awesome pickups Andy.
Hi David! Such a bummer you missed on that Bobby Clarke. I like the Dad’s Cookies set. I agree with the Sayers being a stunner. It just pops. I hope you find a bargain on it. Knowing how you find cards I know you will. I’m not really sure what I’ll do with my collection. I do want to make it easier for my family when I’m gone. The basketball universe hasn’t been the same since Walton passed. I loved his commentary. Made the game come alive. That Gilmore interview sounds fantastic. I’ll have to find it. You’re most welcome on the cards. I’m glad you liked them. They weren’t much but thought they would fit into your collection.
Great cards Andy. I think the same way. As a collector who wants the cards i could care less about graded or not. But I also think about what happens when I pass away and my wife or family wants to ditch the cards. Love the Sayers colors. The background is so bright and it works with the bears uniform. Enjoy seeing some Ted Simmons and his RC is a top 5 card of his for me. Love the Hockey card and Bill Walton. Great share and always enjoy buddy. ⚾️🏈🏒🏀
Hey Steve! I agree. I could careless if they’re graded or raw but I know it’s much more of a headache for others to get rid of them raw. I don’t want to be that person who says “it’s not my problem”. Thanks for the comment and the support. The Sayers card just pops and I love it. And I agree on the Simmons being one of his best. Thanks again, Steve!
You covered it all here buddy! Love the pose of Simmons on his rookies. Really like how the cardinals logo on the front shows. That sayers pops! Great copy you picked up for cheaper because of the PSA error take the win! Also a really nice clean copy of the Walton and the dad’s cookie oversized is really cool! It’s awesome fun when you bid and don’t think you have a chance and you win 😂 enjoyed as always!
Hey Mike! Simmons’s rookie is my favorite of his. I don’t know what I’m going to do with my collection but I am happy to have this. You’re right about how the Sayers really pops. It’s a beautiful card. Sometimes if I see something really cheap I’ll just put a bid on something because I feel like it’s too cheap. Does t happen often but once in a while I’ll get a steal like I did on the Plante card. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Hope all is well!
Darn nice looking Simmons card. That Sayers card is so beautiful. The fuchsia color just pops. You could probably take that card to the National and ask them to re-holder for free. That way it doesn't slide around in that slab. Just a thought.
Hey Drew. Thanks for the kind words on the Simmons. And I agree with how beautiful the Sayers is. Thanks for the idea about taking it to the National to re slab. Appreciate it. Thanks a lot Drew. Hope all is well.
I've been grading more frequently, just on autographs for many of the same reasons. I like how they display and in the future my family won't have to worry about it. Yep, I've sold out to the man
Hi Allen! I wish I could sell out to the man. I’m close in some ways but then I think of the money I’m giving to PSA and what kind of card that could buy if I don’t do it. It’s been something I’ve really been thinking about lately. I also hate reveal videos and don’t want to become that kind of channel, haha.
Great pick ups Andy!! I'm catching up on as many videos as I can! Haha. Thanks for sharing!

Great cards, and I'm right there with you on the colorful backdrops. That Sayers looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.
You can’t beat bold colorful backdrops! The Sayers just pops. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

FUN pick-ups! Love the Kansas Comet! Thanks for sharing
Can’t beat the Kansas Comet. Wish I could have a nickname like that, haha! Thanks for watching and the comment!

Thank you. I’ll surprise everyone and do hockey once in a while. Thanks for watching and the comment. Hope you have a great weekend.
