Very enjoyable quick insight into camping in harsh rainy conditions. There’s something about camps like this that give you the ultimate respect of your home life once back and drying out isn’t there. Cheers pal
Definitely thinking about getting one of those tents for the winter camping especially as I'm really getting into hill camp's it's a big price but you get what you pay for nothing worse than packing up in the rain atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Steep price mate, but if you're going to be camping all year round no matter what the conditions, it's definitely worth it and will last a good 10/15 years I reckon.
Hi Chris a great atmospheric video loved seeing all the clouds and the rain. A great choice of music too. That's a great tent to be able to move it around like that. Looking forward to the video 👍😊🏕️
Always a good vid from you, even if your tent bound, I don't mind being stuck and tented down in adverse weather, it just means to me you appreciate your kit even more, thanks Chris 👍
Nice one mate or not so nice one. It’s always worth just going for the camp. Even if it’s wet. You’ll soon be dry if prepared and it can be very relaxing. I found this out Friday 😂 the eerie quiet and the damp air is what I love. The silence is deafening. Send Grundle. Martin Grundle
Very atmospheric camp that Chris. There’s something relaxing about being in a tent in the rain and surrounded by misty conditions. Well done for getting out there mate 👌
Thanks Joe - was good to be out in nature and solitude........ it's always a good test I think being out alone when the weather is poor. Top wild camping memories made - ATB and thanks for watching and taking time out to comment mate
@@MCMOutdoorsYou say it as laps and then kaus instead of lap skaus. I am trying to find an english word to explain the au sound we use in the norseland, but nothing comes to mind. I suppose the way the scots say cows is pretty close. Hope that helps 😉
Done well getting yourself out in those truly soggy conditions mate! That light looks interesting also, be nice to hear more about the battery performance on that when the winter nights come in 👍 All the best - BR
Cheers - the mental hill definitely had to be climbed before I left the front door - was glad I did though. Thanks for watching and the light review will be dropping midweek 🏕️
Enjoyed the video Chris! This seems to be the theme of July this year here in the UK. So much rain. Personally, I’m really hoping for a dry night watching a sunset on my next camp 🤞. All the best man!
Nice Atmospheric camp . Man with manylots stoves has stove envy looking at the MSR one you have . Which beer from Lidls? They stock Lomond brewery ( bravehop is my favourite IPA) and other smaller brewery stuff .
I think I camped there with mini me Parlick via Paddys . Looked very damp fella and every credit to getting out there walking up the stream, I mean path. Thanks forsharing Chria. Atb matey
Brilliant video as always, thank you. That MSR burner is a bit of a beast, isn't it ? I imagine water boiling doesn't take too long. I've been fancying a go up there myself. Had a walk up Saturday afternoon (22nd) and could hardly see a thing due to the low cloud. Lovely area, though. Thanks again Tom.
Lapskaus is pronounced as laps kaus, not lap skaus. The kaus part is a bit difficult to explain in English, I tried to find a word to rhyme it with. But I think the closest I came was the way the Scots pronounce cows. Not quite there, but close enough I reckon. As always, an enjoyable video. I watch it in the office on a wet friday morning, with a decent cup of coffee. A great way to start the day, while planning my own wet excursion for the weekend to come. Thanks for sharing
Wow! Looks wet but well worth the effort! I spent the weekend in a tent in the downpours (at a festival). took my NatureHike Opalus tent on her maiden voyage and she did good! What radio do you use? Fab video as always 😊
Had a firepot chilli con carni couple weeks ago on a camp and it was absolutely s###, so much so I emptied the packet outside the tent and my dog left it there. So can you recommend the real turmat meals as I hate spending money on crap. I normally buy wayfarer meals as I always like them but just not enough for me. Nice relaxed camp there, cheers
I like them mate, they're really full of flavour - very expensive, but for the occasional treat all good. The pasta bolognese is nice, along with Lapskaus and Viltygryte!
You can't beat a wet camp sometimes. One of the best things is knowing that you are virtually guaranteed to be out there by yourself. Unless you come across a fellow camping nutter that is! 😂 Great video mate. 👍 Shame I couldn't hear any Stairway to Heaven. 😜
Haha - it was Black Dog and I only featured it for 9 seconds..... had to redo the entire edit :-) Yep, the sheer desolation of that landscape in such weather is haunting...... eerie sound of distance Curlew piercing the wind and rain...... quality
Mate, you being from the pool and all, you should know what Lapskaus is! After all you, and me both, we are Scousers! It's what we're named after! Or was you just trolling us? Hahahahaha. To be proper though mind, should be Mutton though rather than Beef! hahahahaha. Great vid fella, enjoyed it.
Fair play to you for heading out in that. What are your thoughts on your MSR Reactor? Did you ever use a MSR Windburner? How do they compare/contrast? Regards, Wadi
Never used a windburner...... I've had the Reactor from when it first came out (albeit the bigger version) and recently acquired the 1.0L version which is ace for just me. In my view, for a water boiling stove only - unbeatable and highly recommended.
Like you say Chris, The Murk is better than The Chase. Just done a Murkfest too. Dreadful weather but in the tent, in the bag with an Imperial Stout… BTW what’s your pocket radio? I had a great rechargeable DAB by Majority that sadly did not swim so well!
Can't beat being in the tent whilst the weather rages! The radio is a very old analogue Sony unit! I could do with a mini DAB one with a speaker, but no idea what to get! Thanks for watching mate

Without saying too much to the immediate east of where you frequently visit, the fell that lies even further east of the quarry summited fell that you can drive over is a fantastic wild camping area, that forest that sits near the summit hides deer and all sorts of wildlife, and if you park on top it really lives up to its name 🤫 also did you ever hear the sad story of Bill Smith and Saddle Fell? It covers the vent basically mate, so stops water coming through if it rains 👍
