Great episode Al, so many elements to this little film, the photography, the music choices, the thumbnail, the editing, the cycling challenges, the equipment challenges, no internet, no dry outdoor cloths and Storm Debi, yet you with a big grin on your face, you love it and inspire others to love it too, and you do inspire us with your wise advice and amazing good humour at the most challenging moments. Thank you so much for sharing Bushman & Blue’s continuing adventures with us all, you are hugely entertaining Alan, your films are little works of art. 🚵♀️⛺️ 💨 🌧️ 😊
Wow thank you Tracy! I paused for a second whilst reading this and thought… I really do work hard to produce these videos. I’m just so glad that people appreciate my efforts and hopefully gain something from them. Always smiling through life 😬
@@BUSHMANandBLUE I have really enjoyed your work very much over the past couple of years. It’s highly entertaining watching you fight hurricanes, floods and blizzards on top of mountains, you always seem to be loving it and that’s a huge draw. I love the drone intervals accompanied by atmospheric music, in this episode classical, (I think Swan Lake)? Al, your music choices are always very beautiful and fitting to the story you are creating. Music is very important to me so I’m always impressed when it’s aptly woven into a production, you are always spot on. I’m looking forward to the next episode, where will we be? What will the weather be like? Will Blue be with you? Lol See you next time, all the very best.
Your "Description" & gear list answered many of my questions B4 I could ask 'em & B4 I watched the video. I'm truly envious of your pull over PHD Down jacket with handwarmer pocket that allows both hands to get together or stay separated. That home-made rabbit skin handwarmer if inserted into the jacket handwarmer pockets should make you feel smug, comfy, & cozy. 4:24; I hope you find a place to pitch your tent where you won't have to deal with a stream of water flowing under & around your tent floor. I'm sure that you doubled checked your spot B4 deciding on it based on an experience of a night long ago. I'm also going to be looking to see what/how you secure the zipper pull tab from unzipping. 4:58; pitching your tent in truly strong gusty winds is challenging. 6:05; pulllezzzzz, Don't "blow up" your pillow, "Inflate" it. 7:12; Down booties are a "must have" for lil ole MEeee; to keep my tootsie comfy cozy. 8:08; I was especially interested when you described the fabric/insulation of the Bivy bag. 13:09; I have that same metal tripod canister holder; it will keep the stove & pot stable. 15:24; No broccoli? 29.24: That sounds like André Rieu & the Johann Strauß Orchestra playing Blue Danube. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
Wow. I’m one minute in and loving this one. That music at the beginning was a superb choice (sounded like the spokes of a bike going round). The attention to detail in these horrendous conditions is second to none. Can’t wait to watch the rest. ❤
With you totally on this. Tent, bothy, tin roof, rain but cosy inside, wherever. Just so magical to be cosy out there ( except for leaks and getting wet….but good kit and careful planning avoids that).
That's a mad camp that Al lad. Yorkshires very own Evel Knievel. Every credit for getting out fella and fabulous video capture as always. Take it easy buddy
😮I so love wild weather! Snowing, blowing, pounding rain I love it all. It is a different world altogether out there at those times and I don’t usually run into people either.
Loving it mate! Thanks for the content. You’re an inspiration, I’m back out over Angle Tarn way next week in my new Abisko 1 thanks to you. Thanks for all your hard work Al! Nick
What a great video, I love the challenging weather and can't wait for your snow ones, we rarely get snow here so will relish watching what the dales will deliver for you and Blue to enjoy
I just learned a great trick for drying out boots, socks, and gloves: Boil rocks in a pot of water. Take the rocks out, and as soon as they are dry, stuff them into your gloves and socks, and put the socks into your wet boots or sneakers. The advantage of putting rocks in boiling water instead of the fire is that they get hot enough to dry out your equipment, but not hot enough to burn or melt it.
Absolutely loved this video mate. Really enjoyed the music and the variety of camera shots when filming. Loved the mountain biking hugely also. Thank you for this one!
Seeing you cycle through that “lake” in the opening sequence...😳 Got a Canyon bike myself, but it doesn’t come with the amphibious mode yours obviously has. Loved the adventure. All the best. .Wish.
Well done Al. Nothing like getting up in the morning to put on wet gear, wakes you up nicely!! And that was bleeding wet pal. Good job Blue wasn't with you, otherwise that tent would have stank to high heaven. Cheers,Ozzy.
Great episode Al........ If there's one thing you can count on, it's Al, atop a mountain, in a storm. Madness!!! New Patreon member here, well worth it. ATB
Absolutely beautifully brilliant conditions and just the way I used to love it.. It is really pleasing to see how much you enjoy everything.. Keep up the fantastic fun.. Missed the mutt though but hey ho such is life I suppose..😊
Missed this one just watched it. Brilliant watching what you put yourself through, I love being outdoors but couldn’t put myself through the wet weather, even if I could afford the gear. I’ve got a nice Ribble bike but I would have cried if I’d of had to go through the water you did and as I’m only 4ft 10’’ it would have probably been over my knees 😂😂😂. Thank you for the entertainment. PS you forgot the brocolli!!
Hi Alan that was great going in storm good you staying the full time thank god you were dry safe that's a lovely bike love what you can do with it to be young 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
This video really brought home how much work goes into your videos, setting up the camera and then running back for it, and doing that over and over. But when it's pouring down rain with strong winds, that's really, really hard work. It was amazing to see you smile in those conditions. I hope this video gets the many views it deserves.
Who would have the thought that the Blue Danube would go well with mountain biking Yorkshire fells? Another great video, I really enjoyed it. The first storm I didn't enjoy but was scared of was Kyrill. I had to get home from work in the evening driving through the woods. Luckily the storm had calmed down by then, but I did have to inch my way past a fallen pine or two and drive through knie deep debris. I was scared stiff all the way. Take care and ignore the nasty remarks.
At last some one riding a normal bicycle 🚲. No batteries ,just enjoying good exercising and using a bicycle for what it was intended for. Exercising!!!. You feel better when you actually ride for a few miles too. It's a win ,win situation 😊. Keep on biking.
Love the rain, as a kid I always went out over the fields with my trusty border collie in the rain. I'd wake up in the morning and my Mum would say 'your kind of day today Phil ', still love it now, get the waterproofs on get the dog and get outside can't beat it and added bonus...nobody else is out so got the world to myself 😂😊
Glad I wasn’t the only person out and about during storm Debi! My friend and our dogs went for a good hike in the Lake District, absolute chaos but we love it! 🤣
That was just awesome! I’m going to make a recommendation. Arcteryx Beta AR jacket and Beta AR pants. Pricey I know but you get what you pay for. What an adventure I look forward to the next 👌
Hello great video as allways. I do try to replicate storn conditions at night in house when go to bed, I have the window open so can hear rain and wind, no heating on so cold, and have two duvets which wrap around me head. I love storms i camped out alone in the October one in 35 mph and had a big grin on my face as the side of the tent pushed against my back all night! Love the wind, hate the wet clothes....
Hi great video, I love the crazy conditions. I’m after a new tent, I would love to see you compare your Fjallraven Abisko and the new Terra Nova. Thanks Adam
Nice one Al. As I say you don't need to be mad to come from Yorkshire, but it helps. Stick all your wet gear in a bag then put it into you sleeping bag. Same with the shoes boots. Check your bottom bracket out.
Very enjoyable! Great weather, to watch someone else be out in. Wind and rain on tent is awesome! Question: when he mentioned playing with himself. Does that mean something something different in the U.K. then it does in the U.S.?
Great video, love a good storm vid. I too like the wild weather, there’s something exhilarating about being wet through if your in the right mindset. I would find it interesting if you threw some health related content in the mix, seeing what exercise you do and food you eat. We see all these healthy people around is (I’m not one) and wonder well what do their meal plans actually look like, are you eating broccoli all day? Are you eating the same as I am? Would be interesting.
There is something comforting about being in a tent all warm and cozy while it's blowing a gale outside.
I felt pretty cosy in all that down😬
As long as your "shelter" is providing shelter.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
Who else in the Uk see a storm coming & instantly think of Al and blue, right?! :)
Mad, in the best possible way 😊
😂
Been a couple storms of late and I’ve been actively waiting!
I reckon if Al was any sort of a wild camper, he would of thrown up a hammock to sleep in ! 😂😂😂

If a storm is coming, Al is packed and ready for the adventure! Well done, Al! Only thing missing is Blue. ❤
As much as I love the summer, this time of year is my favourite when mother nature chucks her worst at us, being out in it is just ace
When nature is slapping your face, you know you are truly alive and living the best day.
Absolutely love these videos, so many “wild campers” don’t leave their house when it rains, you’re straight out testing your kit. Love it, keep it up
😂 at least you’ll trust my words about the kit I use 😉
@@BUSHMANandBLUE haha, you properly test them. Kit should have the "Bushman and Blue" seal of approval sticker on them.

Yeah, Indonesian food, I am Indonesian and I am glad to hear that from my favourite outdoor lifestyle camping creator ❤❤❤

Great gear but you’d need to get lots of use out if it or be on an expedition to justify the spend.

Excellent trip...! You needed your big coat right enough.
