Hey you lovely people! I'm finally back with another video and damn.. that one took me a while to create. As some of you know, I am a huge fan of the Eagle App, which has recently received a new major update. Eagle 4 comes with mindblowing new features like AI background and object removal, upscaling and more. Hope you enjoy! Looks like a very cool app. I wish there was a Linux version available. Since the app is based on electron, this shouldn't really be a major technical problem...
Great walkthrough, thanks! Just one question: are the plugins made by the Eagle team, or are there ones made by external people? I just wonder how they keep the quality of these plugins to the highest standards.
The ones I have presented here are all made by the Eagle team if I am not mistaken. I think they have a verification process for new plugins by 3rd party developers. They check certain requirements before the plugin becomes available through the Plugin Center. Thanks for writing a comment. It really helps me grow this channel!
@@ValentinKossenko I posted about it on Reddit and everyone agreed that it doesn't work with DaVinci. How did you make it work please , also we are windows user
Does the image compressor plugin compress the original files or only the ones in the eagle library? I am still searching for a way to reduce the size of the eagle library on my NAS while keeping my original files high quality.
@@Zeigerful Only the ones that were imported into the library. You can select whether you want to overwrite or save as new files inside the library as well.
@@ValentinKossenko Sounds good, thanks! You said some of your suggestions where already implemented before. Can I somewhere give my feedback after a few days using to the team?
@ValentinKossenko may I please ask how do I download the 4.0 update? I updated to the beta version when it came out but I want the new version. I have tried to download it from inside the app but it takes me to download trial?? Also from home page..any help appreciated thank you.
Do you have a license for the Eagle app? When I downloaded version 4.0 it didn't show a prompt for the trial / license for me. Perhaps yours was resetted for some reason? Otherwise just download it manually from their website here: eagle.sjv.io/P0g6Gj (Affiliate Link)
@@ValentinKossenko Thank you for responding.Yes i have a license, I have been using Eagle for a couple of years .I updated to the beta as soon as it came out . and have been waiting for the final version. but when i try to go it ask me to download trial...
No, there's currently no embedding feature directly inside of Eagle. You can share files via AirDrop or Dropbox Transfer though. Hope I understood your question correctly!
So worth it, even at full price. I guess it depends on your perspective, but as someone who pays several hundred $$$ for Adobe software each year, this app is truly a diamond in the rough.
Quite honestly, OS X is ghetto. It's not the bastard that that Windows is, but they haven't really updated anything worth a darn that, as a digital production designer, helps. I still get pissed I'm constantly having to wait for greyed out images to save to folders from Photoshop, scroll through bulky previews only to find out there's no sizing displayed for this particular format. No more Adobe droplets for bulk processing...I have a dozen more of these instances that are just like...dood! EPS files - no thumbnail. Quicktime doesn't open half my MOV files and hasn't been supported in...ever. If things continue like this and trend towards a web-friendly medium relying on cloud based GPU etc, Apple could be in trouble because their computers aren't THAT great. They're solid but OS X is really the only thing keeping me tethered to them, and they need to pay attention. Adobe apps could seriously use a face lift as well. I took one look at Bridge, just saw a bunch of grey cages, went cross-eyed and closed the app. Thanks so much for this plugin breakdown. I look forward to Eagle updates for sure. Sub'd.
Nice features.. BUT the fact that it produces a 2nd file (exact copy of the original) is a TOTAL DEAL BREAKER if you are using this with many large files like myself. There is no way I drop RAW photoshoot files, raw video, etc. into Eagle just for it to duplicate these large files again! Until this changes, this is a no go for people like myself with LARGE raw image files and videos. I could see using this for importing my files and doing some 'temp' organizing and tagging work WHILE working on a project.. and then deleting the library afterwards. But for myself, with multiple drives and PBs of video and image data.. this aint it!
I completely get where you're coming from, and honestly, this topic deserves its own video. One thing I think you'll find really helpful is the auto import feature, which I highlight in this video around 20:48. It lets you create a folder wherever you like, where you can just drop your files. Eagle will automatically import your files and then delete them from the folder, so you don't have to worry about duplicates. It’s a much smoother way to add files, especially when you're using other applications, which don't allow you to save files directly inside of an Eagle library. I personally use Eagle for TBs (not PBs yet) of footage and finding something has never been so easy. If you're a video editor, you'll also love to hear that unlinked media is a thing of the past with Eagle, especially if you use the same footage in several projects. You can save videos in different folders in your Eagle library, but the physical location will remain the same. The file is saved once and referenced from there, which is great because it doesn't use any additional storage space. It also identifies duplicates for you when you add new files and makes managing large amounts of data a lot easier like that in my opinion. That library structure has several advantages, one being that moving your file around will not unlink your media from your existing video projects. Unless you move the entire library of course. In this case, all you have to do is just change the source folder though and everything will be linked perfectly again. It has its weaknesses though at the moment. For example, you can't split a single library on separate drives. In your case that could be the main deal breaker. Perhaps they can find a solution for this though in the future. Thanks for taking the time to write a comment!
