How can you make it make a sound, an audible alert so that you look at your phone to read the reminder? If there is no such alert I will most often not see the reminder in that I do not look at my phone continually. Any ideas on how to set it to make a sound for the reminder?

Location-based reminder uses the same sound as regular time-based reminders. Here you can edit the sound for reminders: open MLO -> Settings -> General Settings-> Reminder Settings-> Default reminder alerts-> Sound
