- Phil Collins performing 'In The Air Tonight' at Live Aid in front of 72,000 people in Wembley Stadium, London on the 13th July, 1985. The event was organised by Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine disaster. Broadcast across the world via one of the largest satellite link-ups of all time, the concerts were seen by around 40% of the global population.

Seriously, I have no idea if this man in the 80s filled stadiums on his tours. But I am not able to imagine 50 or 60 thousand people paying to see this man. He simply does not have the soul of a star, no matter how many records he has been able to sell, he does not have the soul of a star.
This was an historic event. So glad to watch again as if it was just yesterday.

Omg, an acoustic ( piano) version of In the air Tonight by Phil. Just as good as the drum version. Outstanding.
Finally the UK version. Although not as beautiful as the USA version it's still an important moment being one of the only two songs being performed on the two ends of the Atlantic on the same day. The other being against all odds the same day by Collins also.

The MTV broadcast was a cluster-fuck. They cared more about promoting their VJs rather than concentrating on the performers.

@@aaronliddell4280 So far (well for the last year or so) the trust have only been posting tracks that were "missing" from the DVD set , I wonder why they changed their policy with this one?. I did not check the DVD listing , as I thought they were continuing with their current policy..
'85 was my very 1st year at ABC TV Gore Hill as head of Research when Live Aid suddenly hit us all from out of the blue...
It truly was without doubt one of the most amazing, dynamic, and life changing moments of my/our lives that can never again be repeated.
I shall never ever forget it.
It literally touched our own small lives to the very core..
If only there were more 'live aid' moments in our lives today. I sincerely believe that the world would be in a much much better place than it is today... Cheers to All.

Pero mas aún el poder en su voz, tan intacto en vivo que no tiene nada que enviadiarle a los efectos de estudio, porque de hecho un verdadero artista como el no los necesita.
Ahí la diferencia con los productos fabricados de ahora y alguien con talento innato.
La gente presente en ese evento tambien tiene mi respeto, ya que gozaron real música de estas leyendas en su mayor auge.

Listen to the eco at the beginning, audience actually in respectful silence to hear the music . I had to tape this in 85 as I was working a double shift at a restaurant, did not get to watch it until 3 days later as I worked back to back doubles then a regular shift.
