I would heartily recommend the Glen Scotia Campbeltown Harbour. As a cask strength aficionado, for me, this expression ticks all the wrong boxes; NAS, 40%, chill filtered, with added coloring. And yet, I love it, and at around 25€, it’s an amazing deal.

Great review. Glencadam and Paul John have been on the short list, but will add Knockando now.
One of the best malts I've ever had was a Teeling single carcavelos cask (not brabazon series). One of the worst was a Teeling 17 year white wine finish cut so deep into the feints it finished with mushrooms. It was bad enough that it would take a lot to convince me to buy another Teeling.

You were so close with the Loch Lomond, you held the right answer in your hands, you showed it to camera and then you recommended the wrong one! The 12 inchmoan is the best 46% peated release ever! It's octomore levels of peat complexity (not punchiness but the number of different peat based notes you can find) I would love to try it cask strength, it's why I'm keeping an eye out for IBs of Croftengea, their heavily peated malt

I believe (cf. Ralfy vids, and elsewhere) that Knockando's last syllable rhymes with "dough", not "doo" as you seem to be saying (google says "no-KAN-dow", but I don't think that means it's "ow" like the beginning of ouch). In part it's important to help distinguish from the nearby Knockdhu ("Nok-doo") distillery, whose whiskies are named anCnoc ("ah-NOCK") to further help distinguish.
Sorry if I sound like the pronunciation police, it's just the two nearby distilleries can be confused.

Teeling is a Trademark that produces a very big amount of diffent Whiskys. A very few are quite nice but others are unfortunately not made for us Whisky-Nerds. Be careful with them. Thats all i say 😅🤷
Loch Lomond is a very unique Distillery because it has Pot Stills and Coffey Stills and a Kind of Hybrid Still called Lomond Still (because nobody else have a Still like that accept Bruichladdich which bought an old Lomond Still from Loch Lomond some Years ago). With these Stills they can produce a big variety of Whiskys depending on their Mash-Bill (which Grain , which amount of Peat in that Grain or Malted Barley) . These Varietys have different Names like Inchmurrin, Inchmoan, Inchfad, Loch Lomond and Croftengea for Example.
Thats where the Names come from.
    😉
(I write that because you didnt show any Knowledge about this in the Video)
Thanks again for another good Video.

Just so you know: Ugly Betty was the original Lomond still invented in 1956 and installed at the Inverleven Distillery within the Dumbarton grain complex at least 6 years before Loch Lomond Distillery existed (there were also Lomond stills at Glenburgie and Miltonduff) and the 'new kids on the block' have rather cheekily sometimes referred to their own hybrid stills as if they were the originals...

I have a bottle of regular (not Inchmurrin or Inchmoan) Loch Lomond 12 y.o. that I’ve been trying to oxidize for over a year and it still tastes and smells like burnt sugar. Not caramel, not toffee but straight up very unpleasant burnt sugar. I paid $45 US for it and it came as a gift package with 2 minis attached - one mini NAS Inchmurrin and the other mini NAS Inchmoan. I did like the Inchmoan. But the whole thing is not worth even the $45 IMO.
I once bought a mini bottle of Teeling single grain and couldn’t get over the acetone taste and smell.
Glencadam 10 year old is best value on the market if you can find it!!! One of the best single malts at this moment in time really, imo. It’s in liquor stores in New Hampshire and Vermont right now for about $50 for anyone who’s looking nearby. Just don’t buy all of them, leave some for me :).
I haven’t had a chance to taste Paul John. I did taste Amrut and it was a great malt! I know they are not from the same area in India, but that’s my only experience with Indian whiskies. I’ll have to be on the look out for Paul John.
I don’t think I’ve seen any Knockando expressions here in the US. But I do trust you on this one :) Another one to be on the look out for!
I guess we disagree on the first 2 but in agreement for the rest of them :).
