I've got 2 in the shop right now. One has the dreaded Nikki carb. Those impacts sure save a few screws from breaking. Clause sent one of those blow guns too. You are right about the drain on the bowl. The surging slowly went away. Great job. 775 subs :-)
Hi Bruce. Arrg yes dreading Nikki carb , I don't like them either. I love that blow gun. Luckily this bowl drain could still seal. All my blowers are sold already. Only one more video on a 70s? Yard man snow bird
@@davessmallenginerevival2847 He recommends you too. And it is snowblower season. I have been picking them up over the summer & now it is time to switch from lawnmowers to snowblowers. I need smaller hands.
Glad you like the blow gun - and great video as always. I don't get to work on many quality snow blowers - the few ones that I do work on are all cheap chinese models - so keep those blower videos comming
Hello Dave...this is good timing .I have to get mine out this weekend. It's snowing here right now.LOL That has the same motor as mine, but mine is 10 hp I believe. My blower has been a good old machine . It seems to run good Dave Take care
How's she goin'? Nice job on the carb!!! I am working on a blower similar to this one. I needed to clean the carb and it is still surging after cleaning. Not sure what's up with it!!! Those Murray's are good machines and the Tecumseh's are a solid engine too. Mine always started on first or second pull!!! Take care!!
Hi Mike. Well for your carb I would clean the Jets again. I've been bitten before by not cleaning them good enough the 1st time. Or maybe it just needs to be ran for awhile with a load on it. So when you get some snow, work it for awhile and it might clear up. Thanks for watching buddy
We love our new Toro snow blower! We found your channel from a comment you left on Grampie's. We'd really appreciate if you'd give our channel a look if you aren't already following us and have a minute. Thanks in advance!
Hi Dave snow blower season that some thing we don't have here where I live in Australia . Have been told that you can write your name in the snow sounds fun.
LOL. Not as fun as it sounds Patrick , I do not like winter. I hear it gets pretty hot there in Australia but I think I would rather deal with that than -20 F with a wind factor of -50F. Thanks for watching and commenting Patrick
Nice one Dave. Just wondered if you had ever done an impeller mod and if you had an opinion on them. Think Ive watched all your stuff and don't recall seein one. Thanks bud.
You are correct , I've never filmed a mod before. I did put rubber ends on a single stage blower attachment for a craftsman riding mower but I didn't film it. Only other thing I've filmed was an auger bearing replacement which was a disaster but I put it out there anyway. If I ever have to do one again I'll see if I can film it. Thanks for the suggestion Mike
@@davessmallenginerevival2847 Thanks alot Dave. Reason I asked was because I just did my first one on a family members Crapsman 5/24 and I was wondering what kind of effect it'll have on the auger belt.( Increased wear, breakage). The thing had a minimum 5/8 " gap between impeller blade and housing and was plugging so fast and repeatedly they quit usin it. ( They get huge amount of wet lake affect snow). Thanks again Dave.
