Of course it's not a "better" version, but perfectly listenable, fair play to them for having a go at such a classic.
The most natural of choices- you can hear Sparks in so much of the work. Great stuff.

What a brilliant cover! A song I had long ago forgotten but it’s perfect for them. I really hope TLDP does an album of covers at some point. Every one I’ve heard I’ve enjoyed.

I really like this band, but this isn't the best cover. Siouxsie did a much better job.
This adds nothing to the orginal. Why would one choose this over the 1974 Sparks classic?
It's not supposed to be better? It's just a cover because their music relates to this particular song, especially if you listen to nothing matters
No one has to choose. They both exist to be enjoyed and if you prefer one over the other, that’s fine. I really like TLDP and I really liked Sparks back in the day - so I find a marriage of the two really interesting. Aurora did an amazing cover of Teardrop by Massive Attack for Triple J radio in Australia (it’s available on RUclips) but that doesn’t mean I don’t love hearing the original as well.
