@@StreetPreacherrIt's a talk about how Justin rose against all odds! :0)
@@StreetPreacherr I think you should just take an enormous risk and go... And see what happens! :0)
Are you going to come to The States some time? Specifically The South?
what label do you work for bro?
I loved this quote from the N.M.E interview of the band: As ringleader Abigail Morris puts it, neatly summarising their stylings: “We’re just five dads trapped in gorgeous young bodies.”
doesn't change the fact they are industry plants
Quote of the century!!!
@@jasonvoorhees5640 They don't look like plants at all. I saw no roots, no leaves, or any of that. Unless you mean like a factory? Steam vents and concrete walls. Hmm, I'll have to watch all their videos again to spot any of that. Hopefully that doesn't drive their views up anymore.
@@badappletube indeed
@@jasonvoorhees5640You really need to get a life and stop putting the same reply on every comment.
They’re sensational. It’s like a bunch of classical musicians stayed back after rehearsal, got smashed off their tits on homemade cider and funny brownies, picked up guitars and ascended to the realm of ROCK.
This is a joke account right?, , ,"homemade cider and FUNNY BROWNIES!" and "the realm of ROCK"! were you a side character from The Pick Of Destiny that got dropped for being too on the nose , I mean F-ING Jazz Sparky,,, did you read that in NME or Melody Maker?
@@iaingorryeverything ok mate?
Aurora, the keyboard player (the keytar on this), is indeed classically trained and does a load of the scoring for the strings in the recordings.
@@iaingorry
probably a bot bro.
I really like them, but there's nothing classical about this?
If they are industry plants the industry is FINALLY growing some beautiful gardens!
My thoughts exactly. People think them being industry plants is a bad thing. No, it means that the industry will still occasionally support actually good music.
Whatever
I dunno... I miss the days when bands happened by accident, I guess those days are gone, this band was put together by some producer or manager around the singer maybe.
@@mikethebloodthirsty Those days aren't gone, you're just not looking hard enough.
@@llamas1563yeah but you don’t get big bands from hard work anymore…
had the pleasure of seeing them live, opening for Hozier. They were absolutely brilliant, captivating, amazing performers.
I trust anyone Hozier likes.
I'm going to see them end of March, can't wait!!
The "industry plant" idea is ludicrous. You are exactly right- We need record companies to invest in talent. The repetitive sampling and churning out the same stuff all the time has become tedious. Thank you for covering them.
ridiculous? it's true lmao
@@jasonvoorhees5640 Leslie said ludicrous not ridiculous. Next time try, "Inconceivable!"
@@jasonvoorhees5640So they write good songs, are competent musicians and entertaining performers - please explain why these things are bad?
You might not know what an industry plant is. Theyre a highly crafted artist to be presented a certain way without particular authenticity. This music is only partially their own, trust.
@@justinmj6586 it's the way they were pushed on YoutTube that gives them away. right down to early low res video lmao
Their entire album, beginning to end, is a banger. Hope you've had the time to look into it and enjoy.
Album of the year. Bar none.
Sorry, liam gallagher.
The guitarist is an amazing jazz player. Her solo stuff is great
yep, see Emily play!
I'm 67 and I love this bands music. My favourite band at the moment.
I’m 53 and starting to like them a lot as well
Will have to see them live
55. Luckily saw them at How The Light Gets In last year in front of a couple of hundred people... been addicted ever since. I also make music and the quality of the songmanship is very good. Coupled with her performance I can also believe she might be a female Freddie.
@@gwynsea8162 A cross between Freddie, and Kate Bush 🙂A perfect front for any band
54, and saw them live in an acoustic set, and a full show, a few days ago. One of the best performance I have seen. So much energy. In the acoustic set, their vocal harmonies brought me to tears. Watch the Radio Brussels version of "Sinner".
Just discovered them - scrolling through Instagram at 3:30 am and all of a sudden there are these angels filling my eyes and ears. And some of the songs have GUITAR SOLOS. Hello, that barely happens anymore. It’s like everything I love about music was put into a cauldron and birthed this band.
TLDP is such a crazy good band. Stumbled upon them by pure accident and so glad I did.
accident how?
YT algorithm be doing wonders sometimes
@@jasonvoorhees5640 just clicked on the song thumbnail that came up in recommended videos after what I was listening to ended
I like them a lot. I've been saying for ages that at some point, the kids will start pulling all the diverse stuff they find online together and we'll get music with some really cool unexpected influences. This band do that for me brilliantly. I just hope they don't get watered down or otherwise messed up by the industry.
This is spot on. Imo what youre saying about younger artists pulling together unique influences (at least within rock) has already begun with the younger windmill scene acts(Black Midi, Black country new road, etc). Geese and of course TLDP are other great examples of this.
They are great!I think it is the best debut album since Wet Leg!I am 62 years old and go back to glam rock years! They are fantastic and the front lady’s stage presence is incredible! These will be a massive hit around the world before very long!
Actually better than wet leg. Great album.
Best band I have heard for a long time. Absolutely love their sound and style.
1. Their 2nd single the song "Sinner" is also really good.
2. If they are industry plants then I say give us more industry plants as they are pain au chocolat compared to the usual gruel the industry serves up.
incel
i really love ‘nothing matters’ by them and haven’t heard anything about them being industry plants until now haha!!
"on your side" is easily the best song i heard in a loooong time
Definitely hints of Kate Bush in there. I like it. More f**king industry plants, please.
Glad someone else caught that 👍
Feels like the progeny of Kate Bush and Elastica. And definitely Gary Newman. Like it a lot.
@@theopinionmachine606 I am not a fan of Kate Bush either. Just noticed the similarity. 😊
@@melton_moment
that's probably what the marketing execs said...
With a solid sprinkle of Pixies!! And the lead guitarist kinda reminds me of Mick Mars with those power riffs!
I've been obsessed all year, and I don't care where they came from - in an industry being swarmed with AI and meaningless generic trash, this feels timeless, relevant, and exciting.
Agree with you totally. Maybe the reaction is "how dare these gals be this good 😀". Its great to see something shaking things up!!!
YES! They are phenomenal! Especially live. I've seen them twice in the past week and I can't wait until I can go see them again.
they already seemed cool to me to see live! So I'm glad to hear that this hunch was correct
They were my 2nd most listened to act on Spotify this year with only 4 songs. I already pre-ordered the album! Obsessed.
They are amazing performance artists. Music is superb. So refreshing. Love them.
Thank you Justin ❤️
this is awesome. Thanks for your reaction. I love you stay on top of what's current. Love anything creative musically.
I'm now convinced that I need to listen to even more of their music. Thanks for all of the work you do, Justin!
Listened to these guys a few months back and instantly fell in love with it all, quickly binged all their songs. So good. Can’t wait to hear what they release next.
Saw them back in July at an intimate venue.. One of the best gigs I’ve attended this year.. Met the band afterwards and they are so grounded. They had lots of time for the fans 🙂
I came across these over Xmas and I’ve falling in love with this band this is just what music needs at the moment Go Girls 🤘😎🤗
Thank you so much for letting us know about this band. They are amazing. Merci!
I have to agree with you on every point. This band is phenomenal! I love that they've departed from the style of their first two videos, and are playing something a little harder. As you said, well done and brilliantly executed. They are my favourite band at this time, and have been since I first heard them. They're fookin' awesome.
Good luck on the road, Justin. Congratulations on selling out a few dates already. We're all looking forward to seeing you ride again.
Epic visuals and songs, LDP deserve the success and they are properly "Holy crap, that's a bit good!!". If they're an industry plant, it's a bleeding Triffid.
yes the visuals and songs are marketed towards you.
@@jasonvoorhees5640 The "Industry" marketed everything for Perdix Design specifically? Wow! Perdix must be like the center of the universe or something. Or a god!
PERDIX, ARE YOU A GOD?
Absolutely loving this band too. Reminded me so much of 90s band Salad obvs just the 1 lady in that band but the sound is just so nostalgic.
Women led bands...women artists....all female bands....industry plants. Saw LOTS of comments with this about Wet Leg.
Male bands, male-led bands, male artists.....crickets.
I just saw The Last Dinner Party in Chicago armed with a camera November 9th 2023. Other than a beam in my view, it was an amazing performance. Found them a few months ago online, signed up for the band's mailing list, was offered fan presale tickets, went to the show and was not disappointed. When we got there, (2 hour drive to get the 15 miles into the city) it was packed, couldn't get past the mixing board. There was a small hallway behind the mixing board, we thought we could get to the other side by taking that hallway. Turns out it was a tiny elevated booth of some sort with a few tables, a private bathroom, and an opening to watch the band. I parked myself and my partner there (right at the opening) and setup to watch an amazing show. I typically like to be in the crowd but couldn't get there since it was so packed.
I was surprised how engaged the crowd was for such a new band. Like me, most of the crowd must have ferociously consumed every single online video and performance and came to the show ready to jam. Because some of the songs were online, the crowd knew the words and were singing along completely into it. I particularly enjoyed catching, on film, the crowd screaming "Nothing Matters" back to the band during the last song of the encore. You usually don't see that kind of audience participation with new acts. Apparently that was their first time in Chicago.
The band's mix of pop, rock, art and dance is incredible. The ability to go both melodic pop and industrial heavy like in My Lady of Mercy is a very welcome change. It looked like there was no (or very minimal) backing track being played. What a nice surprise.
After the show we noticed posters promoting the upcoming album release with a QR code. On the way home, we ordered a signed CD.
If they are industry plants, the industry is marketing them "gorilla style" with direct sales from their website, fan presales, and online performances that look like fan videos.
I hope they blow up (in a good way), I want to see them again, hopefully in a major Festival in the United States this summer. I will definitely be there.
That show was unreal. The best thing I've seen in years. I was closer to the sound board. Brigitte Calls Me Baby was the perfect opener. Looking forward to the band returning next year.
when you say you found them you mean a youtube ad right?
@@jasonvoorhees5640 no adds… just showed up in fan videos next to mine.
@@jasonvoorhees5640 it's okay if artists do use ads to bring attention to their work though. Authors, musicians, animators. How else would they make a living and sell what they're making? You alright bud? Responding to every comment like someone having a mental break 😂
I saw them last night they were Killing it.
Agree. I’ve only just discovered these! Love ‘em 👌🎶
I'm blown away by their vocal harmonies in the harder parts. So I‹d throw in some Queen and Kate Bush references as well.
thank you Justin for letting me know of them! great group!!!
Got to say this has really grown on me, heard your reaction the night before and the following morning I have them on repeat, quite the earworm, eagerly awaiting their albums release in february. Thanks for the heads up!
Just won the Rising star award at the Rolling Stones music awards and opened the show with a fantastic performance of this song.
I came across this song a few days ago and I'm obsessed with it. It was jarring the first time I heard it, I wasn't sure if I even liked it. Three days later I cannot get it out of my head.
I’m obsessed, and have been since they appeared on the. Graham Norton show. Not where I expected to be introduced to the best band in donkeys’ years.
I glimpse Led Zep, Siouxsie, Hazel O’Connor, Talking Heads and loads more; but mainly a great band forging their own path. I wish I were 20 years younger. I’d be chasing after their live performances.
It was they who led me to you, Justin, and I’ve been learning so much about why I like the music I do ever since. I’ll keep coming back for more lessons! I dropped out of music in school because we were so badly taught. 40 years later I’m catching up. Thank you. I’m loving it!
If they’re playing near you, you should definitely consider going. They are phenomenal live and I’ve seen a little of everything (all ages/genders) at their shows.
Thanks Justin, just watched all their stuff on you tube, and pre ordered the album. Nice one.
They're absolutely amazing been listening to them since their first single came out and I couldn't wait for new music!
you have kept me alive. Thank you Justin.
Bit of Marina and the Diamonds vibe to the Band and Sophie Ellis Baxter as well . Nice arrangements on quite a few of the Album tracks.
Very Sparks-sounding!
YES Gary Numan!
Last night I saw this video for the first time and I thought, I should submit this to Justin. Today, you are already on it! Amazing!
100 percent agree with you Justin, I've had Lady of Mercy on repeat all week and I'm so excited for their album. Their other singles are great too but I think Lady of Mercy might just be my song of the year for 2023
Love them. Have pre-ordered their debut album as repeatedly watching their You Tube videos is not enough.
Fabulous band. I went to see them in Manchester a few weeks ago and they were great. Abigail is spellbinding live, she's as good a performer as I've ever seen in person. The whole band are brilliant to be fair, love em.
Don't really care if they're a product of the industry or not. Everything they've put out has been nothing short of stellar. Love the sound, the visual, the vibe.
I can't wait for their album!
If Siousxie fronted Sparks for an album, I suspect Last Dinner Party is pretty much what the result would be.
I love this band - this particular one reminds me of Curve’s Horror Head from the early nineties.
Appreciate your analysis. Never met you before. You clearly love music! I appreciate that
Blouse! Lovely!
Anyone else a fan of The Runaways; they kind of give me the same vibes. Not necessarily musically, just general vibes.
I love The Runaways. First band I saw live after their 2nd album came out. I think I know what you mean. They are both quintets and there is a definite band vibe above and beyond the music. Just discovered this band. Hungry for more.
Saw them on Later yesterday. Can’t stop listening and watching! Great sounds, visuals, style…
I absolutely love them
Same here, saw them on 'Kerrang T.V.' and thought what the hell WOW!!!!!!!😂❤
Most AMAZING LOOK! Love the glasses and top!
Saw these ladies twice, a tiny place in Leeds and at the Academy in Manchester (not the big one) they are now playing some of the biggest festivals in Europe.... In the space of less than a year.....talent and luck I suppose, they are great live as well.
My mind was completely blown when I heard this song the first time. Absolutely brilliant. Please also listen to Nothing Matters, Sinner and On Your Side
If you haven’t already looked, he did Nothing Matters earlier:

They just sound so gorgeous!
My only gripe with this band is that I had to buy tickets for Hozier to see them live, and it was in an arena. They killed it. So much more fun and interesting than the main act. Worth every penny, would do again.
Hell yeah!! They’ll be headlining their own stadium tour in no time. I love that we are seeing them blow up from the beginning!!
Hozier smashed it too, he got there with a big band of like 9 people and killed his set. He is also one of the top tier musicians out there. You must've left before he started???
@@phoebeel What can I say, I left about 4 songs in to his set. Hozier is clearly talented but he's just not my cup of tea. I f you liked him I'm truly happy for you, few things beat enjoying a concert.
They sound to me very like Siouxsie and the Banshees... Which isn't a bad band to sound like.
Thank you so much Justin...in your Channel I'm always discovering new and interesting Music..Bravo!
I completely agree haven’t heard many people mention them in the US but I love them!
"The Industry Plants" would be an amazing band name. lol
Abigail was photographed recently wearing a 'Mommy's lil Industry Plant' t-shirt! I think that tells you all you need to know about what they think of these accusations!
I've discovered so much new music from this channel. Love it! Thanks Justin!
same
Totally
Hell yeah they recently my new fav
Not normally my type of music but I know good when I see it. They strike me as an arena rock band that got squashed into a garage, or a garage band that can only be contained in an arena. Not sure which.
I hope they blow up. The industry needs to see that well written songs performed well are what we want. Not , "Well, this worked last year, lets spoon feed them the same crap with a different face and make millions."
That change is awesome.timed to perfection.
They are so good
I really enjoyed that beautiful song, outstanding artistry from those very talented young women. Thanks for the introduction to LDP and the general musical education Prof JH with specs this time.
Simply can't wait for an album. Their musical influences are clear, but they are diverse and so, SO good. That's my only comment. Oh, and thank YOU for making me aware of this band.😁
Very melodic 😊
your first comment regarding 'industry plants' is SO on point
Those plants got your guitar!
It seems the industry plant claim only gets levelled at talented young women.
Inhaler’s lead singer is Bono’s son and I’ve never seen that accusation thrown at them.
I absolutely agree. I've seen them three times this year already and will see them again at The Roundhouse next Feb. Such an exciting band and as you mentioned - so many influences in there. They make me think of Kate Bush and Abba and great 80's bands like Joy Division or The Smiths, with a large dollop of Dickensian literature and punks bands of the late 70's and the showmanship of people like Freddie Mercury and, and, and....
There’s so much music I’d of never listened to if it weren’t for this channel.
Agreed 1000%!
i recently listend to his videos while practicing guitar, the went out to get new strings in a music store in Berlin and whos there, justin.
thought naa dont talk to him he probably doesnt want to be recognized, then he was standing in line right in front of me.
The two sales man recognized him and talk to him, he seemed to be super pleased and gave him free entrance to his concert i was like fuck i wanna go there as well haha🤣 what a nice dude, heard the concert was great, next time im gonna be there 🤘
they're a cool band love their debut album this is probably my favourite song on the album or maybe mirror.
i saw them a few weeks ago and it really was incredible
The last dinner party is literally perfect
This group is amazing. One of the better songs on the album is The Feminine Urge. So. Damned. Good.
Damn thanks for turning me onto them. So good! Familiar rock vibes but doesn’t sound derivative at least to my ear.
i saw them this summer at a festival with no idea who they were at all and even tho the sound was a little bit fucked they fucking surprised me they are INSANE have a crazy energy and insane vocals
So glad you've covered these again. Managed to see them live at the Hare & Hounds in Birmingham earlier this year and was just blown away, best live band I've seen in ages.
I believe in a band called …… t😊HE LAST DINNER party 2024 will be huge for them
Thanks for the tip on the band
Very cool ❤
Love your videos and the band! Suspicious*
I concur! Thanks.
Thanks for seeing Sparks in there, I thought it was just me :)
Love this band! Hope they tour Aus soon.
Alt Nation's Advanced Placement played Sinner a couple months ago and that's how I found them and I feel privileged to be on the ground floor as a fan before they take off.
All the dancing, organza sleeves and drawstrings from clothing etc reminds me of Fleetwood Mac's Rumours and Stevie's clothing choices in general. I hear a little Polly Harvey here too, which is no bad thing. I do hope you react to her some day soon Jus, please.
I love when you grab the old guitar (not a euphemism, BTW), deconstruct, and make the connections and references like this. Also loving the sound of TLDP. See you in Liverpool!
