    Sir but you've find potential using conservative force instead of external force... Since the work done by ext force gets stored in charge in form of potential energy not due to electric force??? So i think there should be negative dign

    • @aafaqiqbal6868
      @aafaqiqbal6868 3 года назад +1

      Yes bro.... work is done by external force...and negative is due to ... negative rate of change...as velocity is negative as x is decreasing ...

  • @asitpurohit_108
    @asitpurohit_108 2 года назад +1

    But potential is equal to negative of work done by conservative force and equal to work done by external force ...you should add negative here at the end to get potential because u have taken work done by conservative force here

    That's wrong. Because you're initially calculating Workdone by Electric Force. And it comes out to be positive... Which is wrong. Electric force is doing negetive work here. You're taking the direction part two times.
    W ( external ) = - W ( electric )

  • @Sanskar_Raii
    @Sanskar_Raii Год назад +1

    Great teaching effort sir...
    But, you've considered ELECTRIC FORCE while calculating the work
    Whereas while calculating potential we always consider work done by EXTERNAL FORCE, which is in the same direction as displacement (dx)
    Then, shouldn't the value of theta be taken 0°

    on one hand you have said work done by external force while on other hand you are calculating work done by electrostatic force .
    In most of the books same procedure is given.
    how is it possible?

      Electrostatic force to obviously lgna e h but apn ne external force lgaya (in the opposite direction of the electrostatic force k) taaki charge ka acceleration na ho

    • @kirtibhairaval5302
      @kirtibhairaval5302 3 года назад +2

      Note: In bringing the charge we are creating an external force of the test charge towards the Source charge. Since the Fext is in the direction of displacement we get cos0=1 but we are bringing the test charge very slowly such that there is no net force on the test charge and thus no acceleration on it . This step happens very slowly such that Magnitude of Fext is equal to Force due to electric field created by source charge but the direction of Fe (Force by electric field) is opposite to the Fext .
      Vector Fext=-vector Fe
      So, we replaced Fext with -Fe . We can also understand it by saying the direction of displacement of test charge is opposite to Fe so, Cos180 =-1 so, we got this answer.
      Why we needed to replace Fext by Fe? Because it was easier for us to find the value of Fe
