- Back by popular demand! After the incredible popularity of the first solo yacht docking video that I posted, I thought it was time for an update.
This video will walk you through the pre and post departure steps to take with this Sirena Yachts 58 Flybridge. We take a little deeper look at the electrical panel and switching from shore power to generator. We also spend a little more time talking about the electronics and features they have. Last, but certainly not least, we go through the steps of taking this yacht off of the dock and coming back to the dock, while solo. Follow along as I walk through some of the steps I take and planning that I do, in order to have a successful docking and undocking of a large yacht.

The best video I have seen in RUclips yet. Very clear and informative, to the point. Thanks for putting out this great video and content!
Damn that’s a big statement! Thank you very much for watching and for the kind words! I really appreciate that! Cheers!

For sure 100%..easiest subscribe I've ever click on..
@kaysoncain3873 I love to hear that! Thank you so much for watching and subscribing 🙏🏻 cheers!
You didn’t dock, you KISSED the dock 👍 Amazing skills, great explanations and commentary!!
Thank you very much for watching and for the very kind words. I appreciate it! Cheers!
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast
This is very useful, as we 60 foot yacht owners need this information…
I’m glad you recognize that yes, there are surprisingly many boaters, new and old who could use some pointers and refresh. Thank you for watching and commenting!
i have a 0 foot yacht
Wish I was able to afford one
Very well done !
This reminded me of when I was between 10 till 16 years old. Our parents had a sail boat on the lake. No engine. If the wind was wrong you had to push and pull, use ropes and the reap hook, and all you needed to get on your way. There were people who paddled 20, 30 maybe 50 meters before they hoisted the sails to be safe out of the harbor. When they came back this went the same way in return. I never ever needed to do that. My father learned me from day one how to it. How to read the wind, make use of it. It could be chaotic and noisy with a lot of sail flapping around. And it never went wrong. We pushed the boat out of the berth and pushed it around with the reap hook and we were off sailing. Within a few weeks I did this solo. It was so satisfying do be able to do such things. Best memories with my father.
Very helpful! Thank you for the instruction. Docking a 65’ solo is my goal. It’s fun watching you stay ahead of the boat and whatever’s about to happen. Getting the fenders prepped while the wind pushed you toward your dock was a nice takeaway for me. All the best!
Very informative video, i live in central Texas and have never been around a yacht, i saw and learned from your video, thank you. Be safe
Getting better and better Dan, Fantastic video, I could imagine I was the new owner and you were giving me a quick refresher course on how to handle my new boat. If I were the new owner I'm not sure I'd put much trust in that remote and ask how hard it would be to install a port and starboard stern control stations ?, these days they're all fly by wire anyways aren't they. Thanks Dan and keep em coming.
I’m very happy you can see and appreciate some improvement! Thank you for the encouragement and feedback as always.
These vessels can have a cockpit docking station and typically do have one ordered with it but the original owner who had this one built, did not select that option. The boat had just come out of storage, so possibly the remote needed a little more charging or maybe there are settings that can be edited. Either way, This is why I don’t usually rely on those types of features.
Cheers!
Best Captain content on YT. Thanks
Wow, that is a very kind and humbling statement. I really appreciate that. I’m glad you enjoy the channel. Thank you very much for watching and for the kind words 🙌🏼

Wow! Looks so easy to do all these solo...video, explaining + focusing the to-do in details. Like your work Dan. Keep it going. Cheers from Sarawak here.
Thank you very much for watching and for the kind words. It’s wild to know the videos have such a reach. Cheers from the opposite side of the earth 🙌🏼
Looks easy, but thats lots of experience showing
This was I credibly helpful! As someone who would like to buy a yacht one day but doesn’t know how to operate one, this was the first YT video I’ve seen that explains how to do this! Thanks!
This is wonderful to hear! Thank you very much for watching and for sharing your feedback! Love being able to help boaters enjoy the water and learn in the process. When you’re ready to start the vessel search, feel free to reach out! As a broker, I’d be happy to help in the process 🙌🏼
Man you get A+ from me my captain Friend 😊😊😊. The walk through of the PANAL was excellent 👍👍👍. You are showing how to get a big vessel up and running from start( what to do to disconnect) shore power. There is a learning curve. For me personally have seen so many boaters operate there vessels like a car. Totally different. A boater MUST have someone like you that walks them through the START up. I am going to watch your video. Even though I had only a 24 footer. I had a professional operator ( class) do all the things you did. The amazing thing with him. Is he showed me the moving of my 24 at low speed for turning and docking. Something so many NEW boaters need TRAINING on. There is an ART to moving a vessel at slower speeds. ❤😊❤😊
Beautiful video. Boy, boating has come a long way in the last 50 years. So much Tec. Thanks for bringing us all along Captain.
Yes, things have definitely evolved a lot recently. Boating industry is always a few more years behind the innovation of the auto industry, but we’re catching up in a great way lately. Really helps bring boating to a broader audience and help grow the industry, which is a beautiful thing!
Thank you very much for watching and for your kind words! Cheers! 🙌🏼
The wireless control for this boat is awsome, you can do 2 things at a time.
It really does give the captain more options and ability to be in multiple places at once. It takes a little bit to get used to being able to maneuver a boat from anywhere other than at the helm but once you get used to it, it’s huge. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Fantastic. Calmness and control personified.
Thank you very much for watching and for the kind words! Cheers!
One of the best yacht berthing video I’ve ever seen. Thank you for showing the details.
Thank you very much for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and for commenting! Cheers 🙌🏼
As an ex-boat owner, this brings back great memories. I loved turning on systems when readying the boat.
Very clear informations, thanks for sharing!
That was without doubt, the best video I have seen on motorboat handling bar none. I've not handled anything that big before, but it's my plan for retirement.
Wow, that is such a kind and humbling comment! Thank you very much for watching and sharing your feedback. I’m super happy you enjoyed the video! Cheers 🙌🏼

Acclamations!
great video. this was more imformative than the actual boating course/exam
Great job with the overview. I have a Yacht Controller on my boat. It’s heaven sent when solo maneuvering a 70´ yacht.
That’s awesome! Great feedback to hear others are using and trusting the technology that’s out there. I have yet to play around with Yacht Controller but would like to get at it one day. Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience as well. Cheers!

Good job man. Being a life long boater I’ve thought about the idea of doing something like this. Always took pride in the skill of being able to dock a boat precisely.
Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate the feedback. The hardest part of this all is the video not the docking a vessel hah. It’s a lot of work but glad it’s enjoyed by folks like you. Cheers 🙌🏼

Truly amazing video, you see all these yachts but truly don't know what all is involved with skippering one! Since I can't drive the occasional pontoon boats I rent, I'm in awe of your skill and talent. Thank you for the videos! Love them.
Thank you very much for your really kind words and for sharing your insight. I really appreciate you watching and commenting! Cheers!
Great detail on every step and every thought.

Wow...I can't begin to tell you how much fun that was to watch. This is exactly the sort of video I would have wanted to make if I had a decent sized cruiser/trawler yacht...because it is exactly the sort of video that I myself want to see....incredibly interesting to see a solo operator un moor...depart, cruise around and re moor the boat single handed. The best RUclips video I have seen in a long time. Thank you for taking the time to make this...

I really like your videos; detailed and straight to the point. My wife would like to retire on a fly bridge boat and I wasn't sure that operating such a big boat would be that fun. You make it look easy. I would like to see how you wash that beast.
There is definitely a whole lot of boat to wash here. Luckily I’ve got a wash crew team that works for me, so we can divide and conquer.
Your wife has the right idea for sure! Flybridge vessels are great, lots of entertaining areas and great visibility as the captain from up top.
Thank you very much for watching and for the kind words! I appreciate it! Let me know when you’re in the market for your new flybridge 😎 cheers!
Even for boat captains with out all the electronics that was a pretty good lesson thank you

Holland Michigan? Wow. That is where my Roamer Yacht was built. (Looong time ago) Big feature, to me, was the steel transom that had compound curvatures formed by explosives. Still nice to look at the ones that have survived, online. Thank you for this video!
Great presentation. Informative clear and useful. Thank you.

I have issues docking my 21 foot pontoon…. I’m in awe …. We’ll done captain!
Docking a pontoon boat is tricky, I’d be more nervous with that than this big thing ha. The bigger they get, typically, the easier they are to maneuver actually. Thank you for watching and for the kind words! Cheers 🙌🏼
Great video, your love for boating really shows
Thank you very much for watching and the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers 🙌🏼
Awesome video, true professional. I wish I had this type of instruction when I went to captains school.
I’m very happy you enjoyed the video! Most of the learning from captain’s school doesn’t go over specific docking scenarios like this, since many focus on safety and rules of the road type stuff. A lot of this type of learning come from first hand experience. It would be great if more captain schools did more hands on training, I’m all for that!
Thank you for watching and for commenting! Cheers!
Have you see my boat my life.he its wery good tuo
Wow I'm impressed 👏 I'd love to have you do another video with owner and we go for another ride "Please"
great video. the electronics have gotten way better on these boats. for a minute, i thought the guy in the orange was passed out.
Technology has definitely made massive improvements and is only continuing to do so. interested to see how things like video assisted docking will go over... that one might take me a bit to buy into and trust but things like that only continue to help grow the industry and bring newer boaters in, so I will support that for sure! Thank you for watching and commenting! Cheers!
Absolutely 💯 great 👍 video and a well done job with the casting off and going alongside, very comprehensive electrical panel demonstration that I have enjoyed.

THANKS. You convinced me to drive a smaller simpler boat.
Hah sometimes smaller is much easier, that’s for sure.
@@ElevateYacht Absolutely, and that fact can translate into having more fun. Although I'm not so sure Mega boat owners are primarily interested in 'fun'. You. more than a lot of folks ,realize this size/style vessel is used more often to impress and entertain clients and other business associates. So, fun, maybe, but big biz, definitely.
That was awesome to watch...great job

Amazing demonstration of your skills. I live on Lake Macatawa just down the lake from where you docked. The technology in marine controls allowed you do handle this yacht as a solo pilot. In the past, it would have taken a full crew!
Thank you very much for watching and for your kind words! Technology had absolutely been a huge factor in bringing larger yachts to a broader audience. What was once too daunting and intimidating can now be much more easily learned. Still takes some time and practice as all things, but I am confident I can bring most new vessel owners up to speed pretty quickly with the help of today’s technology.
Lake Macatawa is a super cool place. Love getting up there when I can. Maybe I’ll see you up there some time this summer. Cheers!
