The last chapter of Night in the Woods was really weird, existential, and I did not enjoy it at all. That being said, I empathized with Mei a lot. I like that the game showed how, even once you get past the age of 18, you still don't always have your life planned out. It's not some magical age where, once you reach it, you're gonna have a job, house, car, Internet, and a significant other. I liked that she had to move back in with her parents, something that happens frequently to the people around me, as she heals and further decides what she wants to do with her life. I like that her parents were, understandably, disappointed that she dropped out of college, but they loved her still just as much as always. The stress of one's future and dealing with getting your own place while still not feeling ready and not feeling grown-up is what I enjoyed most about the game.
