This video is about exchanging money in Cuba. If you’re traveling to Cuba, this video is important because there are two ways you can exchange money.
1. OFFICIAL METHOD
The official way to exchange money in Cuba is at the airport, at an exchange house, bank or hotel. If you go to one of these places you will get the official exchange rate which is about 1$ = 110 CUP. Cuban Pesos ( CUP ) is the currency that is used in Cuba. This exchange rate is horrible and will make your trip alot more expensive then what it should be.
2. "BLACK MARKET"
The black market is simply exchanging money with local cubans. This is hands down the best way to exchange money in Cuba because the rate is ALOT higher then the official exchange rate.

Hi Mike, as just a month ago or two from the date of your video of 11/10/22, The Government updated the currency for (1) USD = 110-120 Cuban Pesos that also applies to Euros at the Cadeca's for Official.

I was just in Cuba for a full day trip w/my son. Everywhere I went, cabs, buying coffee, cigars, alcoholic drinks at various hotels and restaurants. ALL took U.S. dollars. I never had to buy their local currency.

This was 3 months ago, the exchange rate is different now. It’s going to continue to fluctuate. Find out the rate once you get there

Great question! You cannot pay with credit or debit cards,only cash. There is no Uber.

It depends on how you have projected your days. I say expect to spend $70/day, but that’s on a very active day, not including taxis because once they notice you are not from there, the price per rides go to a ridiculous amount

I have about $100us in CUC left over from my last trip to HAV jus before covid hit around Apr 2019. I was planning to go back this year & in updating my research found out that U can now only use CUP's as of DEC 2022. They said that CUC's are only great souvenirs now! Worthless!
