I grew up seeing only a particular type of car on the streets and that is, the mighty Ambassador. Aside from Jeeps and rickety old vans, this was the car that dominated the streets; on the other hand, the Maruti 800 was the quintessential compact middle class family car. Things started to change in the early 2000's, names like Ford & Hyundai started to become synonymous with the mindset of prospective buyers belonging to the "private car" fraternity. Yes, the term "private car" was used to make one's own car stand out of a line of vehicles used for commercial purposes back then. Now, the middle class has bifurcated. One side reaching for the stars and beyond, and the other side barely staying afloat in this ocean of capitalization. The future holds the final verdict.
