    I always perceived edge-to-hole dimensioning as not clean design and never used it in Inventor and not going to. I only used it when I have to work in solidworks. The advantage of sketch is a possibility to use it for other alterations, let say changing holes for slots, parametric dependences and many etc.

    How would I do a row of different sized holes? For example if I was making a drill bit rack. If I use the POINT feature it will make all of the holes the same type and size. Do I have to do a sketch for each individual hole position ?

    Do you have a tutorial on how to take a .dwg and overlay on a 3D part? Is there a better way to do that?

    how to create a double spot face on a surface??

      Great question! I am currently editing a video to be released today but I will go ahead and film a quick video on how to do this as soon as possible. In the meantime, what you want to do is the following (I'm assuming you are referring to a curved surface):
      1. Click 3D Sketch > Curve on Surface > Drop a curve on the surface with two points and click OK > Click one of the two points you left on the curve then click the center point button in the ribbon under the format section (this converts reference point to center point)
      2. Position/Dimension center point location as necessary on surface
      3. Create a reference plane that is tangent to the surface AND coincident to the center point you created on the surface (Command is "Tangent to Surface Through Point" found under the work features section in the 3D model tab)
      4. Click Hole command and select your reference plane that is tangent to curved surface and coincident to your hole location reference point you left on the surface
      5. Select your spot face and parameters and click OK
      6. Now you should have your spot face on the one side where you want it, now you just need to create another reference plane that is parallel to your initial reference plane and half the diameter of the part in distance and mirror the feature over that plane

      @@engineeringapplied I mean I need to create a another spot face on the other end of the hole. I had already a spot face on one side of the plane , need to create another spot face on the opposite side.I m trying to create double spot face on a certain hole, spot face on each end

      To my knowledge, you will not be able to create a double spot face feature in one step using the hole command. However, you can accomplish this is two steps in a couple different ways:
      1. Since you already have your first spot face feature, you can simply mirror that first spot face over a midplane which will achieve the desired result of a spot face on the other end of the hole. NOTE: Make sure the midplane is truly centered with respect to the original and opposite face so your depths for the spot faces are identical (assuming you want to create an identical spot face feature with the same size/depth parameters as the original spot face).
      2. The second way you can accomplish this is after you have created the first spot face, create a sketch on the opposite face where you want to position the second spot face and place/constrain a center point concentric to the first spot face feature. This will make it so that if you ever adjust the location of the first spot face, the second one will follow automatically. Then, go to the hole command and select that center point you put in your sketch as your second spot face location, set your spot face size parameters, and you should be good to go.
      I tested both of these methods and they will achieve the end product that you are looking for. Like I previously mentioned, I do not believe there is a way to create both spot faces in one step within the hole command (but I'm always open to correction from our community). I hope this helped!       hope you can help me ,
      I'm trying to make an assembly thru inventor pro, for no apparent reason under the constrain command, I can't click the the preview button( eyeglass icon) its shaded as grey color, thus I can't execute the mate and ,flush command.

      Sure, I'll see what I can do. I have some questions regarding your assembly:
      1. How exactly are you trying to constrain the parts (what shapes and faces are you constraining together)?
      2. Are you trying to constrain two separate part models, or are you trying to constrain two solid bodies but they are still in a single model?
      Usually when you don't have the ability to execute the command due to input errors, the preview is not available. (Which is what you mentioned in your original question).
