A few years ago I took my friend who was visiting from overseas to get a haircut at Ramani Salon, Cinnamon Grand and there were two middle aged corpulent women who were staring at my friend and passing remarks and laughing amongst themselves looking at my friend in an insulting way (making funny faces) because he was gay. It was so obvious! It made us feel extremely uncomfortable and my friend said he has not felt that bad in a very long time. That was pretty unprofessional and vile. I think one of the women was the manager. They were standing at the reception. We didn’t want to make a scene so we left after the haircuts feeling disgusted, disappointed, embarrassed and uncomfortable. That kind of appalling behaviour is unacceptable in this day and age, especially from a so-called high-end salon in Colombo. I don’t know if they know that more than half of the guys that work at their salons are gay and the others are bi. Since this disgusting unacceptable incident I have not stepped foot into another Ramani salon and don’t recommend it to anyone who wants good professional service from well trained staff who are decent and empathic! Spend your money elsewhere!
That's not the experience I've had at Ramani Fernando salons. They do a very classy, refined job. I have been going to RF salons for the past 30 years and it has always been a fabulous experience.
