The late 70s early 80s were the last truly unselfconsciously dangerous times for rock music.Tom Snyder was an amazingly open minded guy to let these rock acts just be themselves. There is NO replacement for Wendy and the Plasmatics in todays music.Period.This frikken woman put everything out there on the stage. All these little petulant girly Hot Topic "rebels" need to watch a REAL rebel perform. She was making this shit up as she went along not reading from a script.W.O.W forever!
I agree Plasmatics were great then. I had the 1984 album, great stuff. Tom gets a lot of hate on some youtube streams, likely from folks who never watched him. He was a very open minded tv host who interviewed punk/new wave bands in a respectful way and really tried to look at the music from his guests viewpoint. I watched him from the 70's thru the 90's and he always seemed to genuinely try to understand and respect his guests.
@@pleasantvalleypickerca7681 Tom really was a TRUE FAN of the punk rock movement and other bands that were ignored by MSM. IMHO TOM Snyder needs to be inducted into the RRHOF!
@@monicajean37 Hi! Thanks for the comment. Yes Tom seemed like a very cool guy. I used to watch him in the 80's. He seemed very open minded and genuinely curious about learning what others had to offer. I remember his warm laugh and always thought "Such a lovely guy". LOL.
Oh man this is so good! Tom was obviously having a good time. His used car salesman bit at the end was hilarious. So glad shows like this preserved the alternative music scene back then when most of America was oblivious to Punk.
Wendy was the genuine article. She was real, that's her on stage! A towering talent and pioneer for freedom and true diversity. Saw her live in Winnipeg, lost a considerable amount of hearing.
Wendy O Williams was such a wonderful person. It is the same with Alice Cooper, wherein they had this wild uninhibited display in their performances that sometimes might have made a person wonder if they were disturbed or not. The fact is that they are intelligent, creative and articulate. Wendy is my hero. May she rest in eternal rowdy rock and roll land.
Boy do I remember watching the tomorrow show at 1 in the morning. I wasn't ready for the Plasmatics yet, but he had musical acts on and it became a hip show, if unitentionally. The joke was Tom admittedly new nothing of the acts. I remember the closing aerobic tapes too.
The out there of rock and roll artists like Wendy Williams were completely well spoken and interesting as opposed to today where I heard a young female singer( initials BE) talking about a taking a poop! Sure youthful indiscretions but come on, man...Go Wendy O!
She could discuss history and rock history in depth too, these current idiots know no history of anything. And as out of control as she was, she didnt seem to need to say f in every sentence like today.
I will never forget when I was going to see my relatives out in N.D; I had been watching this very episode. Well I’m a 14 yr. old kid at the time and I all of a sudden see Wendy O’s 🦫 and then just that old Indian test pattern comes on and the remainders of course was like this from there on. I’d not seen a woman’s breasts at this point; let alone getting an eyeful like I did that night and I’ve been trying to explain to people what happened in detail, but nobody believed it whatsoever ; so I’m hopeful it is this ☝️ in its entirety finally! Nope, I’m not a pervert or any of that shite lol; I think I’m just swinging down memory lane. I enjoyed John Candy and her and company’s appearance on SCTV and Fridays as well so hopefully 🙏🏻 you’ll keep it coming every single day. ❤️ I’m officially in as of NOW!! Sincerely yours truly xoxo DJP ex PostMortem and Kilslug Boston Massachusetts 🇨🇳 Amerikkka of course, right.!! 😎 Thanks Again. Seriously!

I Hated Punk Rock, but I watched Tom Snyder nightly. Wendy O., was a blast, on this show, both times. The only times I saw Tom really "let loose". 😂 Who is the sissy bashing hockey? Forgot about him. (I wonder why?) Glad he never got his way. It's guys, like him, that made America so weak-minded. Nothing to say about Hubbard. At least he's not wasting air anymore. Johnny Carson was my favorite. Tom was second, until Craig Ferguson came along.
What a beautiful smile she had. May she rest in peace.

I found out he stopped having musical acts on his show because they blew up that car.

Check out amyl and the sniffers, very influenced by Wendy it seems. good music still exists ya just gotta look
I was umpteen years old when I first saw this. Wendy was a guilty pleasure. Richie Stotts was an amazing guitarist.
I love Tom Snyder! Thanks for the videos!
For me one of the best punk bands of the history. RIP Wendy.

I worshipped her when i was 17. She was effing 🔥!
This woman changed my life 4ever, nothing compares to Wendy.

Omg!!! Saw her do this in a concert video but never imagined Tom Snyder would allow her to do it on his show. Just amazing!

Love Wendy. Talking solid sense, rocking out and having fun.
RIP Wendy O Williams. These interviews are great!
The full interview along with a couple of songs. Spectacular!
I saw this the night it aired. Met The Plasmatics behind the Vogue in Indianapolis. Wendy was sweet.
Such a down to earth beautiful soul she had
"the human race/nailed to a cross/nailed to a cross"!!!!!!! W.O.W
Fuckin' "A".. God Damn it..
Love you Wendy. Forever missed.

She... was... so... CUUUUTE!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
YAY! Great clip. Saw them 10 days after this appearance...they blew up a Cadillac. Amazing show!
She had a beautiful soul! Rest in Peace Wendy!
The second song is Masterplan not Master Blast as incorrectly shown in the drop description.
That preacher, he's a true Christian. Great TV overall
Ritchie Stotts here is phenomenal 🌟🌟🌟
80s, I remember, strange times.....today things are strange and woke....

Hard to believe this is just months after She was beat up in Milwaukee and arrested in Milwaukee .
She's a real cutie.
did they blow up the car in the studio? Was that real dynamite? What a fired up person she was! Cool, thanks.
It looked like a dummy bomb and some well placed flash pods and a prop vehicle that fell apart as designed.
She looks much better than Angus Young wearing that outfit.

I'm just not going to talk about the Ron Harris tape.
I fell off my seat when I saw that. The TV preacher is followed by an exploding car and thigh closeups.
sports violence, 1981 . . . we still have violence in sports in 2022. lol 😆
Wendy could barely lift that sledge!
Well he started out with an inane question and she responded with an equally inane answer.
