Гениальный пианист и музыкант. Почему мы не слышим его в России? Почему ? Он должен выступать на всех больших сценах России. Это- жемчужина нашей страны и гордость его родного г.Барнаула.

Thanks for posting! This performance was done by Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra on May or June last year in South Korea. I was there and I remember that Scherbakov and MPO were hilarious. MPO also did a great job on A Night on a Bold Mountain by Mussorgsky and Symphony No.5 by Tchaikovsky. On May 31th and June 1st this year, Scherbakov will visit South Korea and perform this piano concerto again with Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra. I can't wait!!! It will be another great summer night!!!

Sergei Rachmaninoff plays his Piano Concerto No. 2 ; I listened to the 1929 version by RCA Victor recording and I believe Rachmaninoff was banging thru it too quickly. The BEST I have heard is Kissin -Rachmaninov piano concerto n.2 version. Konstantin Scherbakov version here is very good also.

This is good technically, but it is much too slow. Listen to Rachmaninoff 's rendition and hear the difference.
