For months, I've been stuck, unable to continue my study routine for a course I’ve been paying for throughout the year, as I found it hard to concentrate and ended up procrastinating. Since you posted this list of videos, I’ve been using the ambient noise in the background, both from the medical bay and the start of the game, to study. I stayed focused without losing track of my studies and routine. It has helped me a lot, and I appreciate your contribution for the 10th anniversary.
The ambiance in this game for me was the biggest part of the horror element. Hearing slight differences and or sounds made you constantly on edge. I feel a silent environment would have been much easier to cope with. Such brilliant sound and game design. Happy 10th anniversary alien isolation.
I love that pulsating hum. Such an iconic sound effect that I immediately associate with sci-fi. I first noticed it during the Empire Strikes Back and had no idea until many years later that it was first used in Alien.
The sound design in Alien Isolation is phenomenal.

That rhythmic hum that's almost just below to level of hearing is something you can hear in other movies, like Blade Runner.

The background humming noise in this always reminded me of the "Archive" ambience from Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Sounds very similar, not sure if it was intended as an easter egg :)
