- Brother decided to plant more pineapple plants, so he gathered his buddies and began clearing the land where his pineapple field was located. Since the residents of the village have made it a habit to establish close relationships with each other, when it comes time to harvest seasonal crops and prepare the ground, everyone quickly rallies to lend a hand. Without this important friendship and connection, one would never consider hiring a professional assistant to complete this labour. Friends of the brother rush around him to lend a hand, mostly because they are certain that his older sister will feed them a lovely home-cooked lunch, of course. This time, I considered cooking a different variety of rice to satisfy those hungry and diligent youngsters with rice packs made on my top-secret recipe.
This time I made a variety of rice packs that were baked in a wood oven. To be honest, everyone loves the thought of having lunch wrapped in banana leaves. Whoever who had experienced the distinct flavour of a lunch wrapped in a banana leaf will definitely miss that fresh, rich taste of such a lunch pack. In addition to making rice. prawn masala and tempered potatoes, I also used the prawn shells to make this secret white curry. It really enhance the rice when they are added on top of the rice and when they baked in the oven until the curry is soaked and infused with half cooked rice grains packed in banana leaf. The leaf's flavour is also added to the rice when they cooked in the oven. It was my top-secret recipe which was thought by my Grandmother. Onto the lunch, I also added two halves of hard-boiled eggs for them to enjoy.
I used to send something tasty for them to have for tea when for a farming give-a-hand like this. But this time, I saw my brother arrive and prepare one of his delectable drinks by blending passion fruit, watermelon and orange. It's kind of interesting how his pals' thirst won't be quenched if they don't try one of his delicious drinks. Anyway, this time I never got to try his drink despite all my brothers' boasting.

ඉතින් මං පෝරණුවෙ දාල ගන්න විදියෙ බත් මුල් හදල යවන්න තීරණය කලා. කෙසෙල් කොල් බත් කන්න ඕන කෙනෙක් ආසයිනෙ ඉතින්. එහෙම බත් බැඳල කාපු කෙනෙක් තමයි ඇත්තටම ඒකෙ රහ දන්නෙ. ඉස්සො මසාල කරියක් හදල ඒ ඉස්සන්ගෙම පොතු වලින් රස කරගත්තු කිරි හොද්දකුත් බතට එකතු කරා. එහෙම එකතු කලාම ඉස්සන්ගෙ පොතුවල රසයි කිරි හොද්දෙ රසයි දෙකම බත් මුල බේක් වෙද්දි බතට උරාගත්තම අමුතුම රසක් මතුවෙනවා. බිත්තර පලු දෙකකුත් එක්ක තෙම්පරාදු කරපු අර්තාපලුත් බතට බැන්දා.
වෙනදටනම් ඔහොම ඉඩමෙ වැඩක් කෙරෙද්දි තේ වලටත් මොනවහරි ඉඩමට ගෙනියන්න වෙනව. මේ පාරනම් මල්ලිම ඇවිත් කොමඩුයි දොඩමුයි වැල් දොඩමුයි එකට දාල බීම එකක් හදාගෙන ගියා. එයාගෙන් බීම එකක් බිව්වෙ නැත්නම් කට්ටියගෙ තිබහ යන්නෙ නැහැ කිව්වයි කියන්නෙ. වැඩේ කියන්නෙ මට ඒ බීම එකෙ රහ බලන්නවත් හම්බුනේ නෑ.

Mostly sri lankan men can cook. mostly mean almost every one. Just a few don''t. In my family i had my father and i have my mother , two sisters , two brothers and i am the youngest one and from my father to me we all knows how to cook in our own way and really, each persons cooking is differently tastes very good. cooking is an art and art is not only for woman but for men too. There should not be deference between men and woman axcept in some cases. Of course a men can''t give birth. Well we all get hungry and thirsty.

I'm from Indiam state of kerala we have many similar recipes with srilamka and my family loves o watch your preparation in your village to remind us of our own homeland. We also have banana rice and curries ( but instead of baking it entirely we heat the leaf and immediately wrap it with all the rice and other curries , thorans and all ( its called pothicoru aka wrapped rice ) . A traditional way of taking lunch to schools and work. 😀😄🙏
