Not even close. Morissettes is cleaner and technically superior. Probably why she has more views.In my humble opinion of course.
Morissette is way beyond the levels of known artist of this era. Dynamic, low to high whistle register, perfect pitch tone. Mori sounded more comfortable natural and very effortless for her to sing. I notice when other artist tend to chop up their tone and holding a note, it’s not style, it’s because they don’t have the power or breathe support. Unlike Mori, she can sing a note, then take it higher, and take it up another extra notch higher without breathing! While sitting dish, while on her tummy laying down I’ve seen videos she dies this effortless. Talk about natural power pure talent.
speaking of rawness in her style of dishing out crazy vocals, there seems to be no one i can compare to mori. she is the best

My pick without any reservations, is Morissette Amon. She sang that powerhouse song SITTING DOWN and still belting it out. This is an Inspirational song about overcoming diversity and rising up, and a person needs power and determination to do that, and that is what Morissette projected, the powerful lifting up and rising up.
Each singer had their own style but my choice is Morissete even if shes just sitting down she could still reach the highest note & shes’s good in story kktelling,never heard an off tone of her voice while singing.She’s amazing even if i close my eyes i can feel the clarity of emotions she invoked through the lyrics.May God bless her more......0

Whoa! You are the first I heard to prefer Andra’s version over Morissette’s. I respect your preference. However, I watched countless reactors and many of them are vocal coaches who have strict criteria. Love both women but seriously, Mori’s is flawless. As far as audience, this is a live performance and people are outside listening to her. Definitely hands down for Morissette!

I have heard Andra Day sing this in person and she was great. However, Morissette's version may be the greatest vocal performance of all-time. To be able to bring that much emotion and still be technically perfect is incredible. I honestly can't listen to anyone sing this song but Morissette. I've heard her do it hundreds of times and I still get chills every time!

Honestly I've heard Andra Day's version and it's good but when Morissette's version came there's no day that goes by that I play her version. It's kinda addicting. Numerous vocal coaches also prefer Morissette's version some even said, no offense to Andra, that Morissette should have sang it in the first place. That's a bold statement coming from people who knew what they're talking about.
I chose Moresette better she has the power voice that I like, inviting you maybe some where in the church related to the lyrics of the song it's very emotional and powerful , that's what I see and hear of the song , difference between the two individuals just showed up and emotional both are good singers I can only pick one , my favorite singer goes to Moresette Amon ###////

Just to inform you, morissette just sang how the song must be sang and everything is perfect and enough. the emotion and vocal display are on point and not overused. Andra day sang the song with so much curves and riffs tthat seems so redundant and not needed in the song, That is how I see it!

Since music is above all, about emotion, esp love, then, I rate Morisette higher in her songs because she not only produce more emotions from her own heart, she also generates so much same emotions from those who listen to her! It feels like electric and you can;'t help notice your heart sort of bleeding and your eyes a tear or two,

The first time I heard this song it was sung by Morissette. That set the standard. And I have never heard anybody who came even close to Morissette's performance, including A. Day. Morissette is so far ahead, vocally and as far as transporting emotions.

Original will always be good but for somebody to cover a great piece is more challenging so if you did good as well that makes you a good singer as well.

I can see the emotion in morisette face while sitting in a bus like that. When i look at her its like she is singing with a broken heart and showing some emotion while its raining out side and missing her love. Just looking at her and how she protrait the song. Looms more of a music video already. Thats what i love about her. She never sing without emotion and you can feel her pain or joy when she sings.
The first time I heard the song, I liked it right away. I thought the singer had that raw voice quality that is perfect for the song. But the visual of AD singing doesn't live up to the aural experience, for me. Visually, it's MA that gets the vote
