@@sweetandsourdish3723 The last duel's clearly best, but Dartz vs Yami Yugi was deserving of this video too. Joey Vs Weevil, in the anime and manga, I'd be changing things to having Weevil directly attacked while having 1500 life points and having Téa winning the regionals and grand championship, with the former as a manga arc and the longest in the anime and manga. Battle City Cut to 20 episodes, with Marik's dark side non existent and his tragic past no longer excusing him. Odion would be a separate character from Marik entirely, with 0 relation to the Ishtar family. Just a man working for Yugi's parents and grandparents and 0 ponytail either.
I'm so glad that Yugi vs Atem was number 1. It's my favorite duel. Not only is it a fantastic duel with every card being played flawlessly, but also the reason this duel was happening is so meaningful. The end of ones life ending and another life's new beginning. Yugi is so underrated
Gx had better duels imo, 5Ds had like 5 memorable duels. Not hating DM (what actual fans call it) Anyone saying OG fake ass fan imo My favorite series is 5Ds had the best plot and made more sense season 2 with the 4 arcs the last Arc was the best imo out of season 2 but got damn was WRGPX a let down except for the ending duels.
@@Jerry4281 No need to hate on people for not using proper terminology. But I agree that duels from later series (except Zexal) were way better than the ones from DM and I also agree that the WRGP was underwhelming and Yusei should've been knocked out but wasn't.
When I was a kid, I never missed a single episode of Yu-Gi-Oh the way almost every episode ended on a cliffhanger always had me on the edge of my seat and just like Pokémon I owe everything to this show for helping get my start with anime back then.
Yugi vs Mai in Duelist Kingdom is one of my favs just cause of how cool Black Luster Soldiers summon was. The music when Yugi summons one of those cards he doesn't always play normally is always so hype
I think both those semi finals were amazingly good and underrated. Both involved some of the most iconic classic monsters, very pioneering and fast paced back-and-forth moves for the time and finally and amazing ending in both duels with Black luster soldier and Red eyes black metal dragon
It would've been intresting to see Kaiba dueling against Rafael. That would've been hard even to Kaibe since Rafael's style didn't allow any monsters in grave.
Indeed, the dude had a bad record if i remember correctly, but damn he was imposing. I grew up with the Latin American dub and the voice actor killed that role. He was always lurking in the background, the contrast with yami bakura and the normal and chill bakura was terrific. You never knew when he was gonna pop up and stir some shit up. Truly iconic.
*IT'S TIME TO DUEL!!* For me, the Duel of Yami Yugi vs Kaiba in Battle City finals will always be the most EPIC Duel in all of Duel Monsters! Thanks for including other great Duels like Kaiba vs Zigfried, Yami Marik vs Yami Bakura, Joey vs Weevil, or Yami Yugi vs Yami Bakura in Battle City. I missed some Duels: Yami Yugi vs Weevil (Duelist Kingdom), Rebecca vs Vivian, Kaiba vs Alister (Second Duel), Yami Yugi vs Mai Valentine, Joey vs Bandit Keith, Yami Yugi vs Weevil and Joey vs Rex Raptor (Orichalcos)
The duel on the island where the Battle City tournament took place with the duel between Joey and Kaiba was freaking amazing, and Joey even used his skills to not only destroy one of Seto's Blue Eyes White Dragons, but he ALSO got thjat same dragon revived onto his field!
All those fights are very much deserved, especially the top 5. However I strongly believe Yugi vs Rafael rematch deserved a spot as well. It was almost as unpredictable and action packed as the first one with high tension and some very powerful monsters combined with some amazing flashbacks
Kaiba vs Zigfried is underrated in my opinion. This is a duel with Kaiba beating the villain in a duel, and he did not use Obelisk the Tormentor, Fang of Critias, or crush card. That was the only duel Kaiba won onscreen with all three Blue-Eyes White Dragons on the field as his finishing move. Kaiba’s last turn was a big comeback with bringing 5 dragons on the field.
No Joey vs bandit Keith? I really enjoyed that duel and it even showed that despite the odds and going against a cheater Joey was still able to pull a win and prove how much of a better duelist he had became.
Did you watch Arc-V? It's not every character but the every summoning method is a different dimension so they do bring back a bunch of characters from other shows. Otherwise, there's that movie where Yugi, Yusei, and Jaden duel together.
For the first time ever I've been watching Yu-Gi-Oh! For weeks now and i'm surprised how only the card game's battles can be that epic! The greatest Yu-Gi-Oh battles are Yugi VS. Kaiba, Tea VS. Mai, Kaiba VS. Pegasus, Yugi VS. Pegasus and Yugi VS. Vivian defienitily Yugi VS. Kaiba! Happy 25th of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters! 🥳🥂🎂🎁🃏🔥
My favorite battles were Bakura vs. Yugi and Marik vs. Bakura in Rulers of the Duel, especially Marik vs. Yugi in Enter the Shadow Realm! I've seen every single season and all of the episodes, but the fights in Season 2 are SOOOOOOOOOOO much better than all of the seasons combined and A LOT more epic.
@@beerguy177 I agree! I think I ended up having nightmares when Marik was acting all creepy in his fight with Bakura, especially when he was wearing Bakura's Millennium Ring like a trophy the ENTIRE fight with Yugi! Marik is the most CREEPIEST, most DISTURBING antagonist in the show! Even Bakura was FREAKED OUT by Marik and you don't see him get afraid by anything!
@@beerguy177 Yeah. And don't forget, they showed gruesome close-ups of his face stretched out and some scenes with his tongue, too! The part where he had merged with Ra was even creepier because only 1/3 of his body was on the field during his fight with Bakura!
The very first duel hooked me hard onto the show. The final duel broke my heart in the best way. This will always be one of the best shows I've ever had the pleasure of watching beginning to end.
When I first saw this cartoon and Yugi was dueling Pegasus, I thought it was over for Yugi since the Millennium Eye lets you see whatever the card is your opponent draws. That was definitely an intense duel.
With there being a popular 24/7 Yugioh marathon on Twitch now, nice timing really. My top 3 in the franchise are Joey vs Valon, Jack vs Carly and Yugi and Kaiba vs Dartz (in that order). Don't really know where I'd go beyond that tbh, some Zexal 2 duels maybe. Edit: Oh, just realised this is DM only, fair enough.
For me it was Yugi vs Pegasus. That was epic and to see how Yugi used his cards and morphed the Dark Magician. I thought he was actually going to lose when I watched it the very first time, but you always have to believe in "the heart of the cards"
While I love Yugi vs Atem and deserve no. 1, my no. 1 will always be Kaiba vs Yugi. Their battle was so legendary even though it was the semi-final, it felt like an actual final. ❤
Mai Valentine Vs Marik Ishtar…THE TENSION OF WANTING HER TO WIN BUT KNOWING SHE MUST LOSE is an incredible and ugly feeling, but gave us quite an intelligent and visually stunning duel.
yugi vs weevil on top of a moving train is an underated yet one of the most iconic duel s there is. Kaiba vs Jinzo is also goes under the radar as kaiba believed at the heart of the cards moment.
Mai V Tea is also an interesting battle (let alone being the one that I can recall being two female duelists), but also showed the lengths of how much Tea cared for Yugi who basically gave up after the Kaiba forfeit.
A shame that the other shows aren't included in the list, real ones know that despite being called spinoffs, the greatest parts of 5Ds and Zexal for example, have many, if not the greatest set of matches ever conceived in a children's show.
Knew this list wouldn't, Watchmojo rides the meat train of the original series, I consider 5ds duels better than duel monsters, and as a series as a whole better
Kaiba vs Zigfried was awesome Yugi and Kaiba vs Dartz almost making the top 10 is pretty nice Interesting that they had DSOD as the thumbnail but included no duels from it
Famous lines from kaiba, "Na As President of Kaiba Corp I have to do that every day I have to do that everyday." "Somebody fired the person who designed that bottle, Kaiba Corp product are not supposed to break that easily." And finally. "Screw the rules, I have money." ( That was from yugioh abridged but it was kind of funny)
I’ve seen these duels lots of times and they are still really cool I think Yugi is my top favorite protagonist My favorite duel is the Paradox Brothers duel
Series idea. Show picks up with Jaden graduating and setting out on his own. The whole series is Jaden fighting legendary duelist that have dueled Joey Kaiba and Yugi in the past on his road to get stronger and face Yugi again to become the new king of games. Huge fan service with duels from legendary duelist with updated modern versions of their decks. And of course you could throw in some side stories or bad guys to keep it interesting and move the story along.
9:28 duelist kingdom in a nutshell, basically the rules are made up by like 80% dnd, like if you can explain the logic confidently enough, it works cuz how early it was to where the rules were still being fleshed out for the actual card game
one of my favorite duels is Joey vs Bones. That was the first duel that just seemed hopeles. Bones's monsters seemed to powerful & used magic to block all attacks and raise their own power. Thinking about it now of course it was stupid to put all trust into the trap card (Call of the haunted.) wich could pretty easy have been destroyed by a card effect... However it is actually still one of my favorite cards (call of the haunted.)
Merrick vs Yugi, kaiba vs Yugi and Yugi vs atem are all great battles. The one with atem was bittersweet since he would not see his buddy again oh and I have to throw in Yugi vs bakura. I can't decide which yami I liked most so all were great
So Kaiba vs Zigfried is one of my favorite duels, I hate that Kaiba's last duel in the original anime is only at number17, the duel is so intense, and the action never stopped
My favorite duels have always been the ones where big mouth Kaiba got his ass handed to him. Seeing him lose always made me feel good. Anyway Yugi vs Panic the eliminator: This duel kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Seeing panic talk shit while attempting to throw the pharaoh off his game was quite entertaining. Too bad for panic that yugi saw right through his strategy. Damn satisfying. Kaiba vs Pegasus: Duelist Kingdom simi-final: This was another duel that never get tired of watching, Seeing pegasus use is millennium eye to see his deck and completely reduce Kaiba to a mime was still one of this best duels in the entire series. It's nice to see Kaiba get some big time Karma for always talking shit to everyone else. The Yugioh franchise is still one of my most beloved franchises. I wish each series got an anniversary box set, All of us fans need a physical copy of owning this magnificent show.
I feel like Yugi and Joey vs the Big Five got snubbed here. Sure that whole arc was filler and didn't have a whole lot of huge highs like the rest of the series, but that duel was epic! I mean Yugi and Joey fusing their deck masters together to make Dark Flare Knight then upgrading it to Mirage Knight to beat the Five Headed Dragon was iconic! I do still prefer Kaiba and Yugi vs Noah in that arc, but that is still a duel worthy of this list in my eyes.
Yugi Muto vs Seto Kaiba Duelist Kingdom - How many people can say they could've beaten a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, with half of their Duel Deck Wiped Out? 🙅🏿♂️🙅🏻♀️
That's very true and combined with Kaiba's threat to commit suicide it is definately a very high note of the series. Nothing beats the 'Clash of Coliseum' but I believe their second battle is quite underrated
Speaking of controlling destiny, it was said that Atem could draw any card he wanted from his deck and in future seasons it was hinted that this was an ability that could be obtained with training and even evolve to convert the card you draw into a card that allows you to win.
Swap the Joey vs. Weevil duel for the Yugi vs. Weevil from WTD arc. Not only is dueling on top of a train more epic, but the entire "DURO! MONSTA CARDO!" scene! Come on, now!
I still have vivid memories of the duel between Mai Valentine and Yami Marik. The mere fact that Mai was able to get a hand on The Winged Dragon of Ra was thrilling to watch. And then the twist that she couldn't summon it. That reminded me of the first season when everything seemed arbitrary made up

Yugi vs Panic the eliminator: This duel kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Yoooo good list but that spittle blown out audio on the voice over ris nails on a chalk board lol
Yugi Muto vs Seto Kaiba Battle City Semi-Finals watching Slifer the sky Dragon & Obelisk the Tormentor go head to head was Epic. 🐉
17:00 "It should have been me! Not him!"
Like to see lists like this for the other Yugioh series...
The duel from the dark side of dimensions should be on here as that one was epic. Mainly because Yugi telling Kaiba to back off was not expected

I wish this yugioh show could come back fun times
Damn! I’ve been on a Yugioh Rewatch tour and now this?! 😅 😅
All great.
Just the original anime? Aw man, I wanted to see some love for the later series, too
Swap the Joey vs. Weevil duel for the Yugi vs. Weevil from WTD arc. Not only is dueling on top of a train more epic, but the entire "DURO! MONSTA CARDO!" scene! Come on, now!
Oh if I had to pick my favorite duel. I'd say its the Virtual World Saga with Noah and the Big 5
