He has a distance tips video on his youtube that is great. I really appreciate the content ya'll put out. It is professional and very well done.
Good video. Not like other guys that do more talking than actually demonstrating. Very helpful But if you ask me Simon's right shoulder looks slightly above or even with his left.

Thank you. I was rounding when I first filmed myself. I did better after reaching back away from my body. Ii am still having trouble creating space though. I think it is because my shoulders are too level. I will really try working on this.
Utilizing Josh’s power pocket principle with the reach back. If it comes back to point of origin with the reach back (arm). Will hips likewise return to last upward tilt angle on load step as well?
I think the tilt is about way more than creating space for the disc. I think it helps you rotate back more AND allows you to engage more powerful muscles on your pull through.
I tried it this evening, and I think it helps! I'm excited to smooth it out. Thanks! PS. I had heard of your channel, but the Creator's Cup put you on my radar. Keep up the entertaining and informative work!

Hey overthrow! I have been viewing with extreme detail the way you teach and your form. I am from Colombia South America and I am trying to excel in disc golf. What can I do to get you to watch a video I have of my form!
I thought awhile for who really exaggerates this movement, and then i got it. Catrina Allen. She always pushes her hip like super-high, then comes down low and then high again.
That tilt angle, I like to think of as a plane, not a line ... and the shoulders are on that plane and rotate (revolve?) around the center point in the upper back. This keeps the entire motion of the disc in the plane, pointing slightly up. What I haven't yet achieved the feel for is keeping the disc nose down in relation to that plane. I can do it when the plane is flat, but when I get the plane tilted up, the disc also goes nose up and hyzers off.
Watching you break this down was breaking my brain. Those positive and negative angles look exactly like the form of pros like McBeth and Eagle. Great stuff!
Does this negative to positive position not result in some nose up angles? Legit questions, because I am wondering if there is a secondary form issue I need to fix so that I don't get nose angle issues when incorporating this.
It doesn’t. If we are thinking about it that way it would mean high shots are nose up and low shouts are nose down. Which we know isn’t necessarily true. It’s a secondary issue to this for sure imho
Could you revisit release angle? Your previous video from around a year ago on release angle shows you throwing an anhyzer with your right shoulder above your left. Or at least go into further detail on the anhyzer release? It feels like conflicting info.
@@OverthrowDiscGolf Beginner here...love your videos! Are you demonstrating a hyzer or flat throw with the right shoulder going that low in the backswing? I've probably commented a few times on Josh's videos... something like "...this was THE thing that helped me understand....yada, yada...." But this, Josh....this appeals directly to the golfer in me that did drills that would just hammer positions into my brain until they became instinctual and natural. Short version: On backhands, should you curl your wrist in towards your forearm, you give your wrist more range of motion to impart more spin on a disk? Or is this just added unneeded motion in the form. Since on a forehand the wrist does a lot of the work, should it be more actively used on a backhand? More context: Total beginner here with a very small amount of ultimate experience, I found in ultimate that giving the extra range of motion to accelerate the disc, really helped it fly more stably when I was trying to send one. A more formal wording of this question might be. On my backhand, am I supposed curl my wrist in toward my forearm in the reach back, to offer extra rotation on my disc when I'm teeing off? Currently I am trying to maintain a neutral wrist position in line with my forearm untill the very end where I naturally snap my wrist say 30-45° when viewed from above, during my release of the disc. It feels like I don't have the spin rate out of my hand to keep disc stable over longer drives since from about 60%-80% of it's way through it's shot the disc seems to start a small wobble, and then it does the normal finish left (I am a RHBH player). Any advice would be nice, frankly something about snapping through the maximum range of motion on the wrist seems like it would require a lot of force on it when you start getting into higher arm speeds, in order to not slow you down.
The wrist should be loose but not active ideally. In the beginning you might work on actively curling it in but later you want it to naturally break inward.

I’m still quite convinced. Bonus info: you can use the < and > keys on your laptop to go frame by frame in the RUclips player. Helpful for figuring this sort of thing out.
@@zenzym that's what he was saying. The left shoulder should come out lower than his right one, he mentioned it. We go from positive tilt, to a negative tilt during the reach back, back to a positive tilt during the swing.
@@tylerlin8259 @Tyler Lin yes true, at the end of the swing its positive tilt again. I think i get confused by the language there. "See how his right shoulder comes through lower than his left shoulder." So he means during reachback. Got it.
Alltough on simons reachback its not a clear negative tilt. At least not in that angle and shot that is in this video. It looks to be close to level. But that only makes sense cause hes throwing an clear anhyser.
@@zenzym My bad, I understand what you are trying to say. You are right, during the reachback it's close to neutral. I went back to Overthrow's slow mo video of simon and looked at the back angle. It shows a slight negative tilt during the reach back. Very close to neutral though, had to go frame by frame to see it. Although as simon throws further anyhyzers the tilt becomes more pronounced. ruclips.net/video/xwEFWS7gMxs/видео.html 4:57

what about the spread shot?!
I’ll bite. What’s that?
@@OverthrowDiscGolf @Overthrow Disc Golf oh just a half joke/reference to the contra "spread shot" ya know one of the gun upgrades the character gets 😆
@@DiscGolfDigest ahhhhh. I made it lame because I made you explain it
Any drills or ideas for adjusting the rest of your body to compensate for this shoulder angle? Watching slow mo, seems like there’s a hip hinge and some compensation in the arm during the hit that I haven’t figured out how to mimic.
You have hit on the two ways I think they are compensating; hip hinge and arm adjustment

I'd like to talk about hips. R̶i̶h̶a̶n̶n̶a̶ Shakira said they don't lie, I just need to find a way to translate plant, fire hips torso / with arm lag / whip... ;)
I think it was Shakira who said that mate ;)
