i think that for elephant archers to be viable they would need to be able to automaticly attack even while moving, like walking towers, like battlecruisers in sc2
They should make it so that the Elephant is carrying two or three archers instead of one and fiddle with the numbers. There is way room in that basket!
Maybe 2 archers and make the second one shoot another enemy, being it the only unit able to target more than one unit (excluding area of effect). It is a cool conecpt. OR make so the elephant can walk while the archer shoots, making it the only unit who can attack while walking.

And he had a 4h break and could Watch vipers Games just befor. So yo had some Mayor Advantages, doesnt mean he played bad tho

The problem is the enormous cost of Elephant Archers. 40 of them might be good as tank + archer, but you need like 140 villagers (my guess) to fully support even building them + Hussar. Therefore the population efficiency is kind of misleading.

What if we could garrison archers on them for extra arrows?or garrison Skirms to make more anti archer? They could be chameleon of Archer kind. Spread the word viper ;)

This is probably a crazy idea, but what if Elephant Archers could garrison like 2-3 foot archers, giving them increased DPS (2 with regular, 3 with the Elite version maybe)? They'd essentially be something like a moving mini-tower. Howdahs usually carried several archers to allow for greater volume of fire, if I am not mistaken.

Maybe give elephant archers +1 base attack, for both normal and elite, a faster rate of fire, and +1 melee armor. If theyre gonna be so expensive, make them more pop efficient, like persian war elephants which despite being expensive are actuall super powerful.
Elephant archers need their counters (like Halb) bonus damage toned down like a normal Cav Archer or lower. Halb's insane bonus dmg against elephants was to prevent the Elite War Elephant from becoming an unstoppable killing machine. Ele archers don't need that punishment.
I find myself using EA's exclusively with my own halbs and onagers. They can tank a little bit, dont care that much about danger close onager fire and dont go down too easily. They mostly just attract counter archer and cav units onagers to have a go at. Halbs are there to baby sit the onagers. Then again halb onager is perfectly viable without the elephants lol.
I'd like to see you try mixing EAs in small numbers with larger numbers of archers or HCs. The archers or HCs will counter the pikes and monks while the EAs tank pretty much everything else. Example: 40 Hand Cannons lose to 40 E Skirms. But 34 Hand Cannons and 3 EAs win the same fight.
Considering Mongols got Steppe Lancers added to their tech tree in one of the updates, I wouldn't mind an update where Indians get Battle Elephants for melee. I think they can compliment the Elephant Archers well, assuming the player can get the economy to build such an army. When it comes to defending certain territories like in that match, I like to garrison my weakened Elephants into their castles for their safety as they slowly heal their health if I ever lack any monks who can safely heal them. Elephant archers do increase the castle's arrow shots as all archers do, which can be nice. ^^
Make Elephant Archers Great Again: - Increase firing rate, or - Give them free ballistics, or - have a second archer on top that always fires randomly (can't micro) and isn't affected by ballistics or thumbring

Elephant archers are the best counter to monks because when one gets converted, you clog up your opponents population with a useless unit.
The problem is they can just delete it.

Many times I listen like Viper is going to tc and creating vills, but the camera doesnt mové from the war place. Is there any way to get it?
he hotkeys the tcs with numbers, like 5, 6. Then he can crate vils without using the go-to-tc hotkey.
