Hello again! This video is a bit different---I hope you enjoy it! Please let me know: What brings you to this channel? I've got some different ideas to work on and I'd love to know what you think. My next video will be full of recipes, promise! Happy cooking! ~Christy
What brought me to the channel? I saw one of your cooking vids before and liked the format. And you taught me how to make sour cream! That was super cool. But YT wasn't showing me more of your vids even though the notification for the channel is set and I was trying to find you again and voila, this video popped up.
I’m planning on moving into an RV as soon as I can pay one off and I really enjoy what you share here. I love seeing your lifestyle and seeing how I could live that way too. I currently feel very caught up in the rat race.
@@alexishumphrey7568 The rat race is REAL! I get caught up in it too--it's a constant effort to make small but significant anti-rat-race lifestyle changes!
I discovered you while getting ready soon to move into an older rented travel trailer. I have reduced finances and am currently jobless and on early reduced Social Security Security but am desperate desperate for tips as I have never done this before at 63.
I enjoy how you strive to eat well on a budget. I'm always looking for more fresh in my diet. And your personality and sweet voice truly captured me. Much love!
Yes foraging, yes FIRE, yes to the blog style. Could you share more of the pros and cons of an RV kitchen? Is there anything you can’t make? I’d love to see a day in the life video.
Awesome! Yes, I can totally work on a video like that. I think the RV kitchen is pretty accomodating. The big difference for me (which is actually not that big of a deal) is not having a full-size oven. I use a toaster oven now and am totally happy--just not doing any giant baking projects. I'll be making toaster oven pizza in my next video!
You crack me up!! Yerba Buena!! And you meals are so simply delicious. It's refreshing and inspiring to watch your videos and I hope you make many more. Watching you from Montreal.
We use our camper a lot (which of course is not the same as living full time in a trailer) but one way we save some money while camping is to use an electric stove, skillet, and small slow cooker instead of propane. We do the same with an electric heater, since electricity is included in the site fee, and propane is out of pocket. Not a huge daily difference, but over time I imagine it would add up to a significant savings
Awesome! I came for the food and am staying for the FIRE!! I’d love to see your approach to cooking applied to living in a small space with limited refrigeration. We camp a lot in our pop up and are always looking for tasty/cheap/healthy eats.
Yay for FIRE! Yes, adjusting to the smaller refrigerator is a real thing. It's still cold at night where I live--so I've made use of the natural refigerator a couple times. I'm planning on getting a cabover camper this year and I'm soooo excited to make cooking videos in a small space 😋
I enjoy watching your RUclips videos. I like those healthy recipes on a $25.00 week budget I am spending way to much on groceries. And your recipes look so good! Also would like to to the rv life and FIRE.
Great, thank you for the feedback! I enjoy the challenge of the $25 weekly grocery budget recipes---I'll definitely do more of that and maybe sprinkle in some FIRE and RV goodies 😊
Nice recipes. I enjoyed the cabbage information. You can store your potatoes 6 months by wrapping each one individually in newspaper and storing them in the vegetable bin in your refrigerator.
@@ChristysDiscountLife i forgot to mention what brought me here! i enjoy discount cooking videos of all varieties.. but i also enjoy eating well and applying my funds elsewhere. you seem to put a different spin on budget eating and that led me down the rabbit hole!
Yerbabuena is really bitter when not cooked. Especially the little blueberry looking fruit. But you can boil the leaves in water with salt and add it to you beans, simple beans just cooked in water with salt, onion, garlic and a tomato. Add the leaves only after cooked by the way, not the liquid. Doesn't grow in Washington state unfortunately:/
Everything looked delicious, and I look forward to you bringing us all the videos! I found your channel months ago. I came for the food but stay for everything else. 💚✌🐔
Christy, I love this new environment for you and Andre! So much healthier than the city, tho I know you enjoy that lifestyle also. Love the videos of the seals along the water. I only send the best to you both.
I found your channel by random like 3 or 4 months ago and I absolutely love it. It's very reasonable price wise and awesome meals. I've set 2 main goals this year and one is to get my son not to be so picky about food and two is to help my skin. I'm in my early 40s and I've noticed that my skin ( especially my face and arthritis runs in my family ) has become so dry so I'm very excited about your up coming videos. I'd love a video on forging.
Do you work from home? I love this. I wish my husband and I were younger. We would do the RV life full time. I am interested in the FIRE program, and especially the new way of eating and cooking you talked about. Can't wait until your next video.
Thank you! I'll definitely have to make some RV-specific videos. But to give you a quick answer: Craigslist. I searched for months and months. There were a few Craigslist people that I *almost* ended up renting from and parking on their property but--boy oh boy--were they picky and weird. I ultimately decided on the low-drama route and am staying at an RV park. I pay for electric and, of course, propane. So far, it's great!
foraging not your thing? lol. Lemon balm Melissa is officinalis. Yerba buena (Spanish for “good herb”) was the source of the original name of the Mexican village that later became the great city of San Francisco. Yerba Buena, satureja douglasii (syn. clinopodium douglasii) is a creeping flat perennial It grew all over the Bay Area. It makes a nice tea. In mountains I often find it with wild strawberry. Nice videos!
I have been searching for someone who can make budget meals AND use foraged edibles to supplement supplies. I'm pretty sure our grandparents ate wild growing edibles to stretch their food sources. Please be careful (hemlock!?!).
That's a good question and maybe something I should make a video about. I recently learned (long after making this video) that I have a BUNCH of food sensitivities. I've changed by eating and still have more work to do. Thanks for getting the video ideas brewing in my mind!

Yes interested in both FIRE and the RV life!
I'm more that happy to share--so far I'm having a good time in the RV and making progress towards FIRE! Thank you for the feedback 😀

Your money saving tips are practical, and you're fun to watch! Can't wait for your next video!
Aww thank you so much, Kathrin! I really appreciate that 😀
I love your healthy budget eats and do a fair am out of camping but usually with a camp stove. Would love to hear more about fire

Hey, Montreal! Thank you so much for picking up on my sense of humor 🙃😜
Yes! Definitely interested in every life and FIRE content!!!
I eagerly look forward to ALL you share here due to your obvious joy at being alive!💚💚💚💚💚 And I learn stuff.
Haha thank you for noticing my life joy 😆 And learning is the best!

Boy did I need this video today! This format is delightful so keep 'em coming.
Awesome, thank you, and glad I could give ya a lil' boost 😀
Great video! Would love to see whatever you think up.
Awesome, thank you 😊
Love the recipes. I’m interested in the FIRE movement. Your new location looks interesting. The foregoing concept seems neat too.
Awesome, thank you for the feedback! Food, money, health--it's all connected!
I love to watch videos about budgeting. Also familiar with the fire movement!
Yay, let's geek out about budgeting!!

You got it!
Your videos always interest me. What ever you post, I'll watch. It might be nice to know how to forage for food. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Thank you, Willette! 🙂
I enjoyed the video format! Sure would like to see more info about FIRE and the RV living. Thanks for sharing!

Heck yeah! Thanks, Yvette!
I’d love any video you put out! I love the anti inflammatory recipe ideas ❤️

Excellent goals! I'm always learning about myself and how my own diet impacts my skin--I'll try to share some good stuff with ya 😉
I love your channel. Foraging sounds interesting. As well as other information
Awesome, thank you! As the season changes, I know I'm going to be eager to forage . Now I just need to find a good foraging app...!
Give us a tour of your trailer. I am from India and I watch your videos. 😊
Hi Arun from India! I will happily give you a tour of my trailer 😀
@@ChristysDiscountLife Thank you 😁

No, I don't work from home (although I did for a bit during the lockdown). What limits you from the RV, is it a mobility issue?
More foraging, please! Plant Snap is a good app to verify toxicity.
ooh thank you for that tip! Yay foraging!
Do it all, we'll watch! Lol
Haha, awesome, thanks! I'll try not to be too random and gradually add in new themes. Thank you for watching and commenting!!
she is just such a lovely lady
Such a great video! I loved it!! Tell me more about FIRE
Thank you, thank you! Will do!
Love all this, being on the FIRE! Can you share how you found rental land for your RV? Utilities included? Love the video & you.😍

Yay, foraging! Haha, yes, I will be careful and take a guide with me next time. Food is everywhere and we've somehow forgotten that.
You are blessed to have a like minded partner😊😊
Agreed! We're not always on the same page but we both make an effort to compromise and work together.
How often do you eat a day. This meal seems yummy and small :-)
That's a good question and maybe something I should make a video about. I recently learned (long after making this video) that I have a BUNCH of food sensitivities. I've changed by eating and still have more work to do. Thanks for getting the video ideas brewing in my mind!
Very interested in living financially sound.
Excellent, thank you!!
I guess u eat no mest?
