  • It's been debated with polls & opinions for years. If you lined up all the great bodybuilders which one would win in what year? LINK TO VIDEO DOWNLOAD OF WHOLE CONTEST : gmvbodybuilding.com/bodybuild... There's no right answer since bodybuilding is subjective but you gotta admit Coleman at the 1999 Olympia was huge, peeled & Full. The best combo of the 98 O, 2001 ASC version mixed with the Alien 2003 version. Even my Girlfriend at the time of the 2003 Mr. Olympia which we taped on Pay per view thought 99 was significantly better when we viewed the tapes right after each other.

      I agree. Although Yates was granite like his best years; he didn't have the roundness & striations all over like Coleman. His back was awesome in detail with outstanding calves & forearms but overall Ronnie was separated pretty much everywhere at his best.

      Rui Antunes After 2002 when he got dwarfed by Gunter and he came in small and flat i thinked he vowed to never come in small again thus his mindset was more mass the better. Unfortunately the added size can throw off the proportions and cause the gut to distend. That being said as much as i like his 99 version, 2003 was unlike anything we had ever seen

  • @YeahRight825
    @YeahRight825 6 лет назад +1

    He had subtle Gyno in this show which makes his physique less than perfect here. If it wasn't for that, my answer would be that it would be a toss-up between Ronnie's physique at this show, and Dorian in 1993, which was the Olympia just after his famous black and white photos came out, displaying his new increased massive size & hardness. Those photos changed the direction of the sport after that point, springboarding into Ronnie's era to maintain that size standard, and beyond.

      Hey Cell, Thx for watching & as much as I would like to look like a 1973 Arnold, Ronnie is the GOAT as far as competitive physiques.! I think they used a little of my other 1999 footage on the Coleman Netflix movie because I did a few little tricks to try to enhance it & it also shows that little bit of scramble mine has at the very bottom. I'm going to include 2 links in my comment for you to check out. Ronnie backstage a few weeks after this 1999 Olympia, not as dry but very full & big. It's like 2003 size with much better shape. (Shape = not referring to condition but smaller waist, better taper, ect.) 2nd Link is my other 1999 footage. 1. Answer: ABSOLUTELY YES

    • @KCDarin
      @KCDarin  6 лет назад

      I totally agree with you too. Many think that 30 pounds difference of 257 pds. here (1999) vs. 287 in 2003 would make a huge visual difference but I've compared videos & pictures many times and where he gained size in 2003 through off his proportion & detail more.
      Ronnie had very thin skin. AS an example here is Kai 2009 Arnold considered his best condition by most experts and what I thought was a 2001 ASC Coleman because his skin was obviously thinner than Kai's. Someone corrected me & proved it was Coleman at the 2000 Olympia. This shows how thin his skin was. Kai at his best vs. Ronnie not that close to his best condition. I didn't make this and scale a lot by head size so I think on size it may favor Kai but that's a different subject. Right Click Link...Open in new tab..Go to new tab and left click to make bigger. There would be a similar effect with Heath I think because of the ways things are done today Supplement Wise. scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/32104771_2097229910512195_2243922676160659456_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=331b6fbc6a125a30fc53b905dafcde35&oe=5B9C8A42
      The extra weight went to his quads which were perfect size with deep separation in 99 & the bigger quads made his calves look smaller and shallower quad cuts. Glutes - Definitely didn't need bigger glutes but his training made them bigger. Back - was bigger but not as detailed & lacked the lower back striations in his rear lat spread. LINK: scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/26169725_2033319573569896_7274091148900926489_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=b52d4dabadecfc6f7f6a866770b2a696&oe=5B9AB285 Waist & Gut both got bigger but he did good onstage holding it in. Off stage he let it go. I think as far as appearance his arms peaked in 1999 & 2000. Several people brought up that his arms were almost too small for his torso (On shots when his arms come up) in 2003. The 1st shot of his routine was a somewhat Crucifix pose. LIMK: scontent-dfw5-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/26166078_2033319666903220_1958817032602154337_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=56f23b8a92ee1696edff115df79638a2&oe=5B8B634E
      A 2001 ASC Ronnie was amazing & his lower body was the most ripped ever but 1999 was close and the upper body of 1999 was more complete with a smaller gut. I think a Prejudging 1993 Yates would have the best shot. He was full and by his routine his legs were down in size. I've noticed if Yates loses fullness his quads go 1st but at prejudging they were plenty big. The height, width & thinness of skin would be too much for Heath all standing on a straight line.

    This is like comparing, for example, what's the hottest girl of all time. By that I mean, its all in the eye of the beholder. I personally don't like Ronnie's physique, and while he's one of the, if not the, freakiest of all time, there was a lot more BBs that looked better overall than he did because they were put together better than him, even though he was bigger, or more conditioned possibly. When you ask yourself, who would you want to look like if you could be any of them? I think that's your real answer to who you think looked the best.

    just incredible. Ronnie kept pushing to get bigger and better but he would beat PHIL heath with this body. Dorian get pusihing to get better and if he just played it smart would have went on to win more olympias. i don't agree with negative reps. Ronnie too, over did it and got worst.

    • @KCDarin
      @KCDarin  6 лет назад

      I heard Jay Cutler say something to the effect that a prime Ronnie's width against a prime Phil would give the edge to Ronnie. There are versions of Phil that would beat certain versions of Ronnie. Like a 2011-13 & 2016 would beat a 2002 Olympia Ronnie & probably a couple of others like 2007 for sure but Ronnie's injuries were showing bad by then. Minus 2002, Phil would have a hard time from 98-2005 because of Ronnie's width.

      Haha, great Mr.O moment! I personally think the 99 version of Coleman is the most impressive physique that has ever stood on stage, likely only challenged by his 03 version if you prefer pure mass, maybe something similar to Coleman at his peak will never be seen again.

    No Mr Olympia to date would have beatin RONNIE COLEMAN at his Peak! And I mean. No One!!!

    • @KCDarin
      @KCDarin  6 лет назад

      I agree & even with sometimes lackluster posing no one would beat him. Too wide for Heath and way more detailed & round than Yates from the front; but if someone where to beat him it would be because as he became more dominate; he got sloppy on some poses. I've got 3 different front lat spread pictures from the 98 Night of Champions & he has one of the best FLS ever. Even in 1999 sometimes he missed it & others nailed it. He could have been known like Yates & Haney for one of the best Front Spreads but he knew he was going to win anyway. Yates & Heath have gotten the best out of there poses. Heath hasn't looked incredible since 2013. No one can compare to that Coleman's peak body but if Yates beat him it would be because of the mandatory poses. Check out These Links of Ronnie's amazing FLS & then a couple where he hits it wrong.

      Cutler thinks Coleman's overall width would push it in favor of Coleman but Phil has incredible calves whereas Roniie's are OK. I think when he got bigger like in 2003 they got more out of balance. I'd love to see it for real. I'm never one that says I know for sure this great bodybuilder would beat another. I think a 1993 or 95 Yates would be his greatest test. Yates could present his physique better also but I;ve had alot of 2003 Coleman's; a 2009 Cutler on a forum. Like I said, until they're side by side at their best you never know for sure even though I'm sure both of us are confident in our reasoning. Alot is personal preference. Yates was harder looking while a 99 Coleman had rounder muscle bellies and more striations. Thx for watching & commenting.

      KC Darin the famous ‘93 photo shoot Dorian was round & full like later bodybuilders - but he always chipped away at that look to get competition ready and as dry, lean and nasty as he could. Dorian Vs. Ronnie was the rivalry that never happened (Ronnie turned pro only 2 years after Dorian, and is only 2 years younger), as it took Ronnie too long to get competitive (or start using all the ‘supplements’ he needed to be competitive).
      What a shame.

      Really good points. What's weird is only 5 years separate the winners of 22 Mr. Olympias. Haney is 58, Yates, 55, Coleman, 53
      I like 93 the best because he had both biceps but his condition in 95 may have been a bit better (mainly from people I respect who were at both.) After 95 I noticed his chest & his good arm both getting smaller. There is the German 1996 Grand Prix where his condition was awesome but everyone looked 15 pounds heavier so I take that contest with reservation. I don't know if it was a wide angle lens but everyone looked much bigger than the Olympia DVD or the 1996 English Grand Prix DVD. That still doesn't take away from his great condition in Germany. Thx for watching!
