This tour should have been professionally filmed-Halford NEVER sang as high, long, and powerful as on the RAM IT DOWN TOUR-THANK GOD someone had the smarts to film this concert for all of us!!!
HALFORD at his absolute best!!!-The notes he hit in this song are the highest ever sang by a male in history-they say Freddie Mercury had the highest range of a male vocalist-no way he could hit the notes of HALFORD!!!-And I dare anyone to prove me wrong!!!
Freddie never had Halford's range, this is some media bullshit. Freddie has great timbre and delivery, but his range never was that large. Rob is for sure has the greatest range in history of rock music. Tim probably is the second closest.
I remember seeing them on this tour in Detroit in 1988. Best concert I've ever seen in my life. The Priest DEFINITELY had their shit together on this tour.
Dude....seriously....Dude.... I really don't have words for this... I'm 45 and I KNOW metal....... I love Halford's High Note improv in the middle.....he takes an already difficult song and makes it even more so.... I mean....can anyone really question the power of Metal????? Really????
These days in particular must have made the rest of the guys so happy and proud that Rob chose sobriety for his greater love. The results are just priceless, insanely good, and speak for themselves. This was a spike, but WHAT a spike!
Hands down,,, in all the concerts I have personally been to, all the videos I have seen, Rob was at his absolute best on this tour,,, I just hope we can get a DVD and/or live CD from this tour.
Speechless. Rob Halford easily proving in this piece of rare but very precious footage that he is and always will be the greatest heavy metal vocalist of all time. What an amazing performance, and what an incredible band.
Check out Beyond the Realms of Death from this concert! It's INSANE. Priest needs to release this professionally! This is staggering even with a hand held recording
Why the hell is there no official DVD of this tour?? Hope they bring us something for the 30th anniversary of "Ram It Down" This is the best performance of the Sinner I've heard.
That's beyond stupid why they never released any of video's from this US tour. It's 2022 & there's tons of concert footage when Halfords voice is a far cry from this.🤔🤔😲
Yes and that makes me want a GOOD-SOUNDING recording of a great performance. This sounds like it was recorded on the other side of the door of an outhouse that had just been engulfed by a mudslide
El arranque de la canción mientras KK está inclinado con la retroalimentación de la distorsión se siente la energía que te recorre en todo el cuerpo,... que gran creatividad para lograr esta espectacular obra maestra del Heavy Metal 🤘
ABSOLUTE BEST HALFORD vocals ever recorded!!!-his screams at 2;45,4;45 to 5;40 make him untouchable in the world of rock/metal-the best he ever sang on any tour and album-hes now a sad shame of his former self-so sad-at least we the fans have this video to remember him by
I am not too sure about the "sad shame of his former self" thing (keeping in mind this was 31 years ago). He may not be belting it out like that, but I would like to see another icon that is now 68 years old do what he is doing now. Check out some of the 2019 videos. You will be very surprised.
Todo hombre envejece, algunos duermen, otros cantan en vivo hora pico muy concientes de las limitaciones del paso del tiempo y dan un gran espectáculo. Señor Hallford todo mi respeto y agradecimiento, lo de usted fue y es único.

@@MsSulic no he had nodes in 1990 But his high notes are closer to 1988 in 1991 and 1994 . But he was changing register then . Then he went baritone in 2000
All the vocals for Unleashed were done in the studio,Rob was having vocal issues on the Japan tour and the vocals were not up to par,so he basically sang the live tracks in the studio.
Unfortunately missed this tour, but saw them in 1986 for the Turbo tour, and again in 2018. Consider Judas Priest one of the best live bands I've ever seen. All Hail the Priest!

After they came on stage...I was speechless! Looking back...they were so tight at this point! I Love JP sooooo much! ( SAW Rob recently opening up for Ozzy) I naturally went insane!!!
Pumpkin Priest, any chance you can upload more from this concert? I've NEVER heard Sinner and Beyond the Realms of Death sound THIS ferocious! I'm stunned at how good it sounds with just your hand held audio!! Imagine a pro audio release of this concert?
Glenn got hit in the head by a drumstick thrown by some asshole in the crowd but he just scratched his head for a second and shredded onward in probably the second best concert I've ever seen. Also during the Seattle '88 show with Slayer.
Halford had just got totally sober the year before and it shows. The power, precision and FOCUS he has is insane. Halford was just untouchable at this point. That note at 6:20 sounds like an air raid siren Metal singers...... this is how it's done.
Good god I miss these days.as much of a priest fan I am it's a shame the younger generation will never see this lineup in priest ever be again don't get me wrong I am not taking anything away from Richie or Scott they do a fantastic job. But the days of KK and Glenn ripping out dual solos together is over. As well as Dave on the drums. at least we can go back to things like this and remember.
But Dave is really playing his ass off on this tour . In fact he was restricted by Glenn , He could play double bass and stuff . And here , Some of his more fluid breaks back to Trapeze , which is quite cool to hear and see

Roger Taylor of Queen could hit halford notes and was higher than Mercury!
Can you offer any proof of this claim? I would love to hear it.

@@centaurus5676 Lol "insane" high scream? That stuff is par for the course for Halford. And it's My Fairy King, not My Fairy Queen 🙄

Exactly! I never remember him THIS on fire. I'm kicking my ass for missing this tour
This is one of their best live performances of any one of their songs. God damn, that scream at the end of the solo is kickass...
One of the most inpressive vocals by rob, amazing!!!
Best version of this song. Period.
Speechless. Rob Halford easily proving in this piece of rare but very precious footage that he is and always will be the greatest heavy metal vocalist of all time. What an amazing performance, and what an incredible band.
Funny how this song was released in 1977, and it's heavier than most of their entire set list!
What Halford does from 4:45 shouldn't even be possible from a Human being of earth
I can do that :D
