HeaierSkye here, die hard vora main for over a year and a half. The video is great honestly, majority of information is spot on and is well paced considering how much she can do. the only thing i dont fully agree on is card usage/buys. While your high sustain build is great early game, on any gamemode where caut actually picks up (second half of siege, Onslaught, KOTH) these become effectively useless considering the value you get dimishes from being in caut. Even without caut its more worth to go back to your own backline and have your support heal you than fiend for the healing it gives. only benefit is the healing during a fight which fizzles out towards the end and will lose you most fights. Vora is a jack of all trades master of none is what everyone says but this is true if you havent played her enough, vora excels at one thing and thats becoming a flying brick wall with enough damage to goomba stomp you back into spawn. The cooldown cards you mentioned are also decent but your not taking into account her actual playstyle. the amount of cooldown you get pales in comparison to the actual times you use tendril, yea its nice to have but your not sticking around in a fight to get the use out of it, and by the time your back in backline, pushing up will only be for select few targets and you can often not even use tendril. Using her CD cards doesnt make sense 90% of the time because your engagements are very quick and precise, you repeat this over and over methodically. you dont just go back and forth on CD timer, thats how you feed and die. your better suited running a tanky build that allows you to engage the fight with a headstart in DR, and or shielding depending on what you want. your tendril is LOUD and everyone can hear it. anywhere in medium to high elo people will know exactly where you are and look at you, at that point your CD cards mean litterally nothing. the higher elo you go the more shots they hit and the more vital it is for you to STAY IN THE FIGHT. Vora has mediocre DPS compared to others but can still out damage 90% of the flanks because she excels at staying alive. Running the DR on tendril paired with the shield card make an absoultely deadly dive that if used properly will almost garuntee a kill reguardless of talent. running DR on siphon is probably one of the best +3/2 in the entire game cause paired with tendril DR you become an immovable object. What im getting at here is, high sustain is great on paper, horrible in a game where your not hard stomping. her CD cards? Decent but ultimately you get more value learning your own CD's and not relying on cards since you wont get as much value as you think. Invest to be more tanky, my favorite card is her HP card as its extremely versatile and i normally run it at +4 in almost every build. In terms of buys, Chronos is S tier but so is the bonus DR. if you cant even stay in the fight long enough to secure a kill your chronos means litterally nothing and its wasted credits. only benefit you get with that is more damage into the tank with your first talent siphon. Anyways this is way too long and drawn out so my bad on that part. Aside from cards, and little bits of buys im not gonna cover cause its too minor and your almost dead on the money this video is excellent and very well made. for any vora player new or old this is definitely a great take
@xirion11 I'll be making a video covering small details like this tonight so itl be out most likely tomorrow and itl have all the info your looking for about builds and how to make a build for her. If you just wanna copy paste one of mine I'm quite the minimalist so I only have 2 I actually use. My main build is the one named "Vora my queen" to import my builds go to a clean build screen then click import then import by name. Then type in my user "HeaierSkye" and you can use any of my builds.
That's a fair criticism, and you can absolutely build like that and make it work! Personally, I enjoy movement based playstyles, and that definitely comes through in my guides 😅 More tendrils means more chances to dodge, which is it's own form of survivability. But yeah, tanking is great too!
I don't know if anyone write it already but, @AndrewChicken forget to mention that, the attacks from Vora don't reset instantly like Nyx, you can basically shot against a wall or something else, then you use the Tendril and start with a Big hit. On some Healers that have a huge impact also on some Flanks. This is something that might can help someone
As a proud Vora player, I'm glad she won the vote! A niche interaction worth noting is be careful of executing Khan - if he has Unbound 2, he will be actionable before the stun ends, being able to shout, making him immune to damage, wasting your ult and locking you in place for no reward. Same can be said for other Voras and Dambas, but that situation is less likely, and I haven't run into it in my 100 levels.
Omg I absolutely love this! The in-game analysis part is something I was so looking forward to! It really helps to understand the thought process behind every move that otherwise we don’t have when looking at pure gameplay. Keep them coming!❤
idk if youll see this but i started paladins a few weeks ago and i've struggled to learn it so much but your videos have really helped, so thank you!!💕
As a Vora main, this guide is really well done Something that might help a lot is a support / tank guide because there's a surprising amount of new players who don't know that they should be playing heal talents as a solo support or that a tanks job isn't only to camp point 24/7
AndrewChicken promised I would get good at Vora by watching his guide and oh my, my life hasn't been the same since. I was able to go from ranked Silver to Gm within 8 hours after this guide. 10 out of 10 would do it again
Awesome video man. I recently started playing paladins again, well learning how to game on pc and found there are a lot of elements to this game that can be a bit confusing as a newer player. Between all the characters, abilities and cards I find at times it’s not super obvious when or how to use things and the game isn’t always super helpful in explaining things ether. Hell I even had to look up how to use chat as in the controls for the game it wasn’t even listed lol. Again awesome video and I appreciate the in depth explanation!
10:58 A great way to get better at projectile weapons is to play any of the Quake multiplayer games, especially Quake II, Quake III, Quake Live, or the newest one, Quake Champions. There's a tremendous overlap between the Rocket Launcher and the Plasma Gun in Quake, compared to the projectile weapons in any other FPS game that has projectile weapons. (The Lightning Gun will also help with tracking aim.)
This is great i just came back to this game after YEARs (I literally forgot everythign abotu it) and i foudn this champ and I'm enjoying it thansk for the help
Yo Andrew, I tried talking to you after our match together, i was the vatu and i was partied with the evie and tyra(PrestigeThang, PrestigeN00b, and Sir_Goofs), i was gonna tell u gg and that ur videos are insanely helpful
Taking on Androxus when ambushed is a nice touch...as a Vora main I must say this is a good guide...you forgot a huge number of counters and how to play around them though..which is what Vora struggles with. But its a really good guide nontheless.
As a a casual Vora player, honestly deafening silence is one of my favorite talents for Vora lol. Call it a guilty pleasure, but it’s great when dealing with certain enemies to disable their abilities and watch them panic as they lose sustain, crowd control/anti-dive, shielding, damage options, etc. I especially love to use it on self-sustain or held barrier tanks(Khan and term are prime examples respectively) while they’re in the middle of a larger fight, since it gives them a solid 2.5 seconds where they can’t defend from my teammates shooting them. Normally it’s something to do if you’ve already taken out your major back line threats or if I have a tendril ready to fling myself to a new potion to begin pushing from. Either way it’s probably not the most efficient play, but it’s funny to watch enemies panic as they don’t know what to do without abilities.
The only time I've used ruthless elegance is when I say a level 176 buck and running bounce house. So I just timed it so the immunity would negate the stomp, then see him go flying out of his effective range. Granted that's situational at best and a meme at worst but it's at least worth considering if you feel like being gimmicky
can we get a new guide for tanks in its entirety of the class? im trying to get better both on and off tank playstyles. would love to see something for us beef cakes because i cant find any builds, guides, let alone explanations that arent 1-4 years old. havent played since rei was new and just got into it. Love your stuff!
Awesome video! I have a question: should I try to duel a flank if I don't have any stacks? I should stay in the backline of all angles on where I'm at (like when I'm flanking)?
If you can get the jump on certain flanks (like the Andro in the gameplay analysis) then it can certainly be worth it! You just need to be more careful, especially because fighting flanks without the cripple is very difficult.
I love this champion but her damage being reduced for the trade off of burst hurt her so much. They need to put thet damage back in or a bit more. She was one of the lowest dps flanks and still is
@@MystFox1314 thematically I dislike the change from bleed to burst. It felt a lot more unique, on the other hand for gameplay wise I'm okay with the burst damage. It just feels lackluster as hell right now. Like going into ranked (I'm a diamond/masters player) any other player of equal skill can just delete me on Vora pretty easily. Her damage being low is part of the issue, her DR for her Siphon build is pitiful. And the change of Kill to heal really felt bad, it probably does feel that way for a ton of characters though so I can't say it's a strictly Vora issue. The character has a lot going for her but she's missing that "OOOMF" the grunt. She's missing the bite that comes with the park. Obviously I can go into QP and just hard stomp and feel good about myself but it's that equal skill side. Before hand we could play walls way better and build stacks on someone and you could dip around the corner not taking damage while they are still ticking down hard
situational but id argue better. faster windup, your not stuck in place, select who you execute without flailing. can hit through most damage immunity/CC immunity, through shields etc, can be used during tendril and be used mid fight. drogoz ult is like bounce house buck diving except everyone is looking straight at you....
@@Darklordn0va you make some good points. Some of my views on those: drogoz ult doesn’t need tendril because you can fly in any direction; drogoz ult does 100% of enemies life, not just 60%; drogoz ult seems to have more movement speed; drogoz ult kills on contact, Vora has a wind up for the final slash during which you can die; Vora ult has terrible FOV. I don’t think Vora ult needs many improvements, but given the number of ults that are insta-kills, I’d say making it an insta-kill is a totally valid improvement. The rest could be seen as “differences in how the character feels”
I love watching footage from people where they're obviously super lucky and than add some made up reasons for things they did pretending it was deliberate xDDDD

Couldn’t a Zhin also become immune then at that point with his Billow? 🤔
sadly, this can be done with many champions. Zhin, Koga, Talus...really anyone with an invincibility frame
I stopped playing Paladins for a while but Vora was my main, I’m pretty sure this is a Sign I should get back into the game lol.
Nice vid!

That how I main Vora too. Just never thought of discovering shortcuts like traversing on the outer edges of the map. Thanks Andrew
idk if youll see this but i started paladins a few weeks ago and i've struggled to learn it so much but your videos have really helped, so thank you!!💕
Sweet guide and great tips...love the live game play example at the end. I need to play more vora!

I can't say I expected Risk of Rain music for a video about Paladins. Not that I'm complaining, though lol
great guide
Let's gooooo vora update incoming
Speed on attack is love
Used to be flank main, she was one of my last champions
Imo, Unified is a good 1 point filler.
Also, you can vine and ult someone mid air as well, like a Drogoz or Andro.

I love the RoR2 music
The risk of rain 2 music tho
If terminus doesn't get +2000 hp, +50 axe damage, 20% base dmg reduction, +40 speed for the next patch, I'm leaving this game forever
Can you show your aim settings
Can you do one with vii
Please do Vatu
Andrew you did not just use the Ai text did you?
he use realtime ai voice with deepfake face in stream to hide his identity(CEO EM 100%)
I don't use AI to write my scripts. The post on the community tab was just out of curiosity to see what the AI would do!
The hardest part of this tutorial is getting a friend to practice with... Or in general xd
So true 😭
I love this champion but her damage being reduced for the trade off of burst hurt her so much. They need to put thet damage back in or a bit more. She was one of the lowest dps flanks and still is

Please do maeve next :'))
Do yago next
make a casios guide olease

Or am I missing something?

i find her very bad and i cant play with her well she deals bad damage her mobility is bad. i find her more like a backline dps
skill issue
