Who should I talk to if I'm interested in serious Tendai study and I'd like to know where to begin?
Hello! The first thing that you can do is sign up for our newsletter. Each Wednesday, you'll receive a Zoom link to join our Dharma Gathering at 6:00PM EST/EDT. Not only will you be able to see that week's presentation, but you'll also be able to participate in the questions & answers session, as well as the Tendai weekly service. On Tuesday mornings, we have a study group for Master Zhiyi's Makashikan (Mohe Zhiguan/摩訶止観 in Chinese). Then, on the first Saturday of the month, we have a Sutra study class. Right now, we are going through The Vimalakirti Sutra. These aren't posted on RUclips.
I highly recommend getting in touch with Reverend Monshin through the email contact form on our website. He can answer any questions you may have and send you in the right direction. If there is a time discrepancy, he might be able to refer you to another Temple in your time zone.
I should also mention that you need to specifically request to join the Makashikan study group, because it has a different mailing list.
