Just finished watching the video. That combination of being on a Good Weight + Great Range + Power (dual motor) & Speed is the Perfect Combination for me. The only thing missing from this scooter is actually a better Horn, & self-healing tubeless tires.
Haha! Unfortunately, it’s not my neighborhood. I like to cruise around there from time to time and take in the tree lined streets. Super tidy there haha.
Always a fantastic formula for your range tests! It would be interesting to see the DT1 and Punk Rider Pro compared. Similar weights and battery size and I remember the Punk Pro making it to the 35-ish mile mark. Of course the DT1 probably takes it in the speed and acceleration stats. I was going to say they're close in price but the Punk Rider Pro has increased quite a bit. I'm still pointing my brother to different options and I'd love to know which you enjoy more.
The coil springs on the dt1 &Pro scooter have a sort of opposite of a coil spring. It works in the opposite direction. It doesnt compress but pulls back when extended. It may have a rubber cushion as well. Not sure how it all works but seems different than all? other scooters.
@@tomsgadgetgarage The shock system sure looks strange to me. The same are on the DT1 DT1 Pro and the new Gallup. They look compressed allready. Maybe they have another shock inside them that looks normal or at least a rubber insert. Got any clue? Cant find any info. Havent received my pro as yet . Looks like a cable lock will slip into the cavitys of the swing arms. Thanks Tom great videos.
So I looked at the front suspension. There’s a bolt at the top which actually actually moves up and down when the spring is compressed. When I loosen the bolt, the spring expands and becomes softer. I’m not sure if that meant to be an adjustment point at all, but I may take it all apart and see.
Great video, great scooter. I've been using it also for daily commute, what an affordable yet powerful scooter. Can you make a video on removing the tires or Puncture-Proofing it? Hmmm
Yah the roads and bike paths are really nice. I don’t ride on any of the main roads though because the speed limits are very high and people drive aggressively here. Way too many bicycle and pedestrian deaths out here. I think AZ is the second worst for pedestrian and bicycle fatalities in the country. Everyone drives 55/60mph on 45mph streets and often pass way too close for comfort. Problem is the whole road system here is based on a grid that goes North to South and East to West, so lots of stoplights and people racing to the next intersection before it turns red. Recipe for disaster. Plus people driving East are blinded by the sun in the morning and those going west blinded in the late afternoon. I see videos of people riding around Chicago, NYC, and San Francisco and think, man, they have it nice lol. But the canal paths and some of the bike paths scattered around the Phoenix Metro are nice. Well maintained and away from automobile traffic.
@ Well I live in Atlanta and bike & pedestrian deaths are very high here also, not to mention having people rob u at gun point for a scooter…Happens everyday here, now if u have a BIRD rental scooter ur pretty much safe.My riding safety gear consist of helmet, gloves, and a compact 9 mm(Appendix carrying)for quick access…Summer months appendix carry Lcp 380…. There are some nice places outside of the city that I drive to and unload one of my scooters to ride 4 that day….I have the Punk Rider Pro coming this Friday am 👍🏾 I’m so ready to do a night ride on it & install my inside handlebar mirrors
@ I also ordered some headlights for the Punk Rider Pro.A friend I met on the Atlanta Belt Line trial has some head lights on her Punk that are bright as train lights 😂
That’s crazy stuff haha. I’ve seen videos of people reaching out of their cars and pushing scooter riders over so they fall. Then they stop the car and steal the scooter. People are crazy. Always good to carry protection.
Thoughts on the Dt1 pro or a kukirin g3 pro? They seem to be the exact same thing? Curious about customer service between the 2 companies. I keep reading that the parent company is Titan? Any knowledge of this?
Hey! So the Kukirin G3 Pro is basically the Ausom Gallop. Both have really nice hydraulic coil spring suspension and tons of power. The DT1 Pro is close to the Gallop but weighs less. Suspension isn’t as plush as the Gallop and G3 Pro though. Rides more on the firm side. Titan/Unicool makes the frames of the scooters and I believe resells them to scooter companies. Those companies usually choose their own components, branding, etc. As for customer service, I can’t speak for either as I’ve never needed to reach out. Good news though is that if they don’t have parts in stock, they can be found on AliExpress/Alibaba.
Do these scooters have a split rim? If not how hard was it to change the tires to the street ones? Im in the market and ausom was the first that caught my eye
@tomsgadgetgarage awesome man thanks for responding👍🏻HAPPY THANKSGIVING MAN! I'm officially a new sub you nailed this review and had me on the floor with the horn cracks 🤣✌🏼
Question. I assume there is no problem runing a cable lock down thru the hollow portion of the front or rear swing arms? I see there is plenty of room on top but I do not see the bottom cavity very well. Not talking about running a cable thru the space between the tire and the fork because then someone could remove the wheel easy enough.
Both have 960wh batteries,go trax 48 v 20 vs 52 v 18. Probably have less issues with go trax but I would pick Austin dt1 pro. Faster and better brakes and display. I don’t have either one just my opinion
The DT1 is going to slightly edge out the GX2 in top speed and acceleration. The GX2 is electronically limited to 35.7mph (about what Tom reached at 205lbs on the DT1), so size/weight won't matter as much on the GX2. If you're light, the DT1 will go faster. If you're going to be doing a regular amount of off-pavement riding, the GX2 has a substantially more sophisticated, pre-load adjustable, hydraulic suspension, shorter stronger links (especially at the front) and more travel. The box chassis is heavier and has a heavier stem but it also makes the GX2 about 8lbs heavier. If you're going to be riding in the wet, the GX2 has better fenders and is probably more water resistant. My GX3 is sealed up really well. Reliability is probably a wash but GoTrax likely did a ton of stress cycle testing on the stem whereas Titan just has a lot of scooter building history. The GX2 may also have higher amp controllers as well given it's so quick on 800 watt motors. This can often mean they last longer and do better in the heat... all else being equal. My Titan built Roadrunner RS5 Max (a more spec'd-out, distant cousin to the Ausom) is generally well build but my GX3 is more refined and industrial. The internals, wiring cleanliness and layout in the GX3 is superior and the design thinking is at least 2 years newer. The controller housings are better and more expensive as well.
Thanks man! Much appreciated. Hopefully you get it soon. I haven’t experienced any kind of wobbles on it so far. I’m actually going to be putting on some PMT tires soon. They’ve been sitting in a box for the last month lol.
Well Tom it arrived this morning at 11:30 AM sharp, but it has to go back, the box had two large holes on both sides no plastic on the LCD display(Scratched terribly)back right turn signal cover completely missing and a large dent where it had fallen over someplace… now the trick is getting in contact with their terrible customer service through email about this issue 😡 this is not good
Ah man that’s messed up. Is the signal cover somewhere loose in the box or straight up missing? Sounds like that box went through the wringer. My ZT3 Pro from Segway was also missing the screen film and had a scuffed screen. Take pictures of the box and all the damage and send it to them in an email. Let me know how it goes.
@@tomsgadgetgarage thanks for responding. No the cover wasn’t in the box as large as those holes were. I’m pretty sure it fell out,and Ausom said that must have happened in shipping so I filed a claim with FedEx so I’m still out of $1100… and that’s not the crazy part the GT 1 Pro gets about 6 miles per charge, something is definitely wrong with the cells in the battery. To be honest. It looks like a used or refurbished scooter.
you're having customer service issues too!? i was minutes from ordering one! i may just go with the kukirin g2 master man even though i really want this one

What mileage range are you getting on a change?
@@producer21207 I use it for work and to buy random foods from fastfood cravings, I get about 27-28 mileage on a single charge
I’ll definitely make a tire removal video. Just waiting on the new tires. Should be here soon.

Hello Tom. Thanks for doing range test. I like how you perform the test. Great job. Did you reach out to Ausom about the new Gallop SR1. ? Review.
Thanks, man! Not yet but I will shortly :).

There’s a lot of room in the swing arm assembly but I’ll take a look this evening and let you know.
Yah so there’s plenty of room on the yellow swing arm. Cavity on top and bottom are similarly sized.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Thanks TOM.I did order one and used your TOM50 discount code for $50 off.

Thanks for the review I was hoping it was going to make it 32
Yah 32 would be nice. It’s likely very possible with a lighter rider.
How many miles did you get on your gallop? In sport
I was able to get 32 miles of range in a mix of speed mode 2 & 3 with an average moving speed of 20mph.
Was the this range test down in single motor or dual motor mode?
This one was done in dual motor mode. I suspect range would improve in single motor mode but I haven’t tested that out.
