Chad has the most comprehensive set of tools and gauges for the AR, short of a CMM. It is pretty cool to see all the planning that goes on to make the AR classes run so well.
Where are you located? I have been building different combinations for years. It is always refreshing to see someone else's way of doing things. One thing I like about your videos is the right tool for the right job. There may be multiple ways of doing something, but with the correct tooling and hand tools, you can complete anything.
The 1/4" clevis pin makes the install of the pivot pin quick and easy provided the parts are good spec. One of my most time saving and cheap tools I have for being a beginner AR assembler.
I am adding up all the bench supplies that are all cheap. This is not a cheap hobby at all, but the knowledge you get using all of them is the real payoff.😎🇺🇸
So happy to see the shop in this video. It's only been a few months since I attended and I was actually thinking about you when I drove by Scott's in GB yesterday. Long days full of information. Great class. Great teacher. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to understand their AR.
You just blew by the acetone pump bottle. When I seen it thr 1st time I ran around and showed half dozen people. Where can i get one of those. I want several. It would be amazing for solvents you use all the time. And that gym mat pad looks exactly like Harbor freight floor mats I have in garage. I gotta buy those to cover mine. Love that idea. I have tan rubber drawer liner on mine with one of those AR cleaning mats over it.
Added my name to 2021 waiting list. Hoping to get a slot. Still unclear on what I can legally transport into the state. Was wondering if I can just bring all the parts to assemble an AR pistol or is that taboo? And lastly, what work tables are you using in your class? I haven't set up a workbench yet and these seem perfect. If you get a chance to reply, I would be most grateful. Thank you for all these magnificent videos!
Signed up for information for he two day course about a week ago. Still haven’t got my list for what to bring to the Master builders class. Looking forward to the classes.
John, Thank you for your interest in our courses. Unfortunately all of my 2020 courses are boooked. The current registration form is only for early warning when I'm about to announce 2021 classes. By filling out the form you get an early warning before I make a public announcement about 2021 class dates.
There are all kinds of “you could include” which would run the cost of this class out of reach. Along with the latex gloves, however, some kind of emergency antidote and a stand by EMS unit for the horrible allergic reaction people like my wife have to latex.
Did I hear right? You can use 620 on a carrier key? I got bad info online and used hi-temp permatex rtv not Indian head. I mean the smallest amount possible. Hand staked the key bolts. But I have new bolts and a brownells tool coming. Like to do it right. I have plenty of 620.
Your videos have inspired me to follow suit and conduct enhanced physical inspections of my collection of AR’s. A little research can help with the expense of purchasing the additional tools. Amazon has the FAT torch wrench with 10 bits and case for $35. Brownells has the same one for $59. Even after the Brownells Edge member discount, deferred sales tax payment, and coupon code, Amazon still offered the better price. Brownells does have that excellent return policy, and that should be kept in mind when comparing prices. A question though, how can I obtain the specially designed Go/No Go/Field gauges that can be used without removing the ejector. They are definitely preferred compared to the others.
So you think "Wipe Out" and it's accelerator are the nuts then? I've used them, and they ARE good, but I've found that sometimes they need "help" from more specialized bore cleaners.
Man I need help in making my 308 cycle the first two rounds weren't feeding rite at all so I think I need to get a adjustable gas block let me know what all you guys might of done to fix the issue on a 308 bear Creek arseal At rifle 20 inch
How can I send a barrel to your school to have a barrel extension instead I had a barrel built for me bye a friend and his gun smith well let’s just say I had a out of batter explosion I had the barrel magna fluxed barrel is fine I need a new barrel extension put on it correctly thank you
I'd love to attend, what $ am I looking at to do so? And the cat, I know that look. Just said in silent cat language, "I know everything you do and then some". lol
I need to attend one of your classes. Please let me know if you ever come to the Seattle Washington area. I’d happily invite you and your family out for dinner or just some nice range time!
Dude this is an awesome video, it really speaks alot on how much you care about what your teaching. One day I hope to take this class from you but until then all the tech videos you put out has taught me so much about little things that are very important like feed ramp overhang and gas key and buffer clearance. My rifle passed the feed ramp over hang test but failed the gas key and buffer clearance test barley so I placed a quarter in the gas tube problem solved, I used a quarter that I've kept with my son's birth year on it pretty cool place to have it instead of it just sitting in a box in the closet. Man I really appreciate the effort you put into teaching people about the American Rifle.
Well, at least I'm on the right path with the Obsidian punch set and Wheeler fat wrench; I've seen the Little Crow bolt catch assembly tool and the MA gas block jig but don't have them (both sold out). Color coding the punch sets is a genius move as are the dropper bottles and tins of oils, solvents and grease. I can smell the freedom all the way from PRK.

you referring to CMM Technology?

It’s all so satisfyingly organized

Your sense of organization brings peace to my life

Thank you very much, this was freaking awesome. I will start my first class in 2022 fall semester at Yavapai College Gunsmithing program.
Thank you for the spark of interest. Cool to see what a student can expect.
Do you have a written tools list? Great video

Awesome 👍 I would love to attend
Nice layout Sir.
Great video. I always enjoy your videos
If I am granted with a blessing. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to sign up and take your courses. Be safe. Be happy.
Appreciate all the details
You could include a pair of latex gloves for those with sensitive skin. Also, you can use a pane of glass as a reference flat surface.
There are all kinds of “you could include” which would run the cost of this class out of reach. Along with the latex gloves, however, some kind of emergency antidote and a stand by EMS unit for the horrible allergic reaction people like my wife have to latex.
Nitrile gloves are less allergic provoking and stronger
always educational.
Super awesome! Wish I could be there
I'd love to eventually take this course. I need a sotar sticker for my gun safe too🤣👌
Thank you for calling loctite by it's number and not it's color
You know it's basically sugar
Whats the info on the bench/table itself? I just broke my little desk via installing a barrel. Want something heavy and sturdy
Man, i wish i could take a course! 😭
You are awesome man! I wish we were neighbors.

I just returned Forster Chinese knock offs I found on Amazon. I couldn't find guages anywhere so I looked on Amazon. Beware of Amazon!
Nice attention to detail......
Looks great.

why don't number videos as you make them so i/we can watch them a given order-if we/i missed one i'll know where to ck back-just a thought thanks
I wish I could go!
I should have known that a guy with so many gauges and tools would be as obsessive compulsive as I am, lol.

👍very cool. Regards from Germany
is it possible for foreigners to do your class?
The founder of Sporting Conversions Inc, Michael Lambie (who makes the Mag Catch tool) unfortunately died from covid. They may have sold to Brownells
That's terrible. I didn't know

What reason could there be to have students sign a NDA??
How do I get on a waiting list for 1 of your classes?
If you go to my website schooloftheamericanrifle.com and fill out one of the registration forms, you will be put on my reserve waiting list.

I looked on the little crow website for the bolt catch installation tool and couldn’t find it?
Ah. Out of stock. Most sites don’t bother to pull an item that’s out of stock.
Where is your school located at?
Elkton, MD.
Obviously faked. Not a single dremel tool...
