As for referring to some of the officers being fat, remember, they have served as well as all the others, now they are older, they hold admin posts. Just look at the medals they wear, they have done as much as any. These men are fine soldiers, one and all. Remember respect is what you must have before you will ever get.
you might wanna add, that they are using the old "saxon pace" which is slower, about 80 steps per minute. the modern infantry pace is 126 a minute i believe...pls. correct me if i am wrong, but that is what i was told...all armies used to march this way in the 'old days'.....
The TV commentators are worse than on the BBC - "Here are the Legion Etrangere and I am going to speak all the time they are marching past the President. I am going to spoil it for everyone watching at home!"

TV commentators do the same for US political conventions. Most parade coverage is also ruined this way.
