Thanks Alan! Yeah, it was pretty dangerous back then. A local told me years ago that there was always at least one person dying there every year, despite it being closed off.
Thank you, you made my day 05.05.2022.! Today, thanks to you and this video, we experienced something wonderful. We ordered a basic package, with a restaurant voucher and entrance to the track. Unfortunately, the lamb's leg could not be finished, but it was so delicious that it will definitely be remembered. Thank you.
This is brilliant Daniel, I'm traveling to Malaga next month staying in Rincón de la Victoria, I'm travelling to see the Vuelta a España for a few stages. I'll be cycling all over the area and your videos have given me such an insight to the surrounding towns and sights. Great work Daniel
Thanks Paul! Well, I am Swedish but you are correct. I’ve always had tight bonds with people from N.I and also spent time there. It’s funny that you noticed.
Absolutely fantastic video Daniel I loved it, I have always wanted to visit the Caminito and now it's first on my itinerary when I come over to Málaga in May (22). Well presented, informative and very calm too thank you so much 👍
I did this today. Great video. My top tip is if you haven't a car pay the extra and get the complete tour from Malaga with coach there and back and a guide. Was 50 UK pounds. Am glad I did it worst bit was the end but a lovely guide is employed just to help you over the Bridge.
Nice video. I’m going to check out that hotel you featured for when we’re next allowed to visit. Motorcycle of course! Incidentally, I’ve just looked up your profile and see that you are Swedish. I was becoming convinced that you had an Irish accent, so I’m not sure where that came from!
Geoff, thanks again for your comment. Yes, I'm Swedish, but I have a tendency to pick up accents from the people who I am with. I hope you can visit the area soon. And doing so by bike, is the best way, lol!
Great video again! Good you mentioned the fear of heights, cos this is as close as i will ever come to the Caminito. I get sick standing on a newspaper :). Really like how you always taste and enjoy the local foods, i have to do that more when i will come back again(finally ppff).Keep up the good work!!!
Well, you can enjoy the trails around the area on ground level. It's still well worth while. I'm glad you enjoy the local touch and gastronomy. I'll continue with that. Hope you can visit Spain soon.
Hey Daniel I’m I right in thinking you can walk to the beginning from el chorro train station & there’s two options 20min & 40m walk? As you didn’t say where your bus dropped you off unless I missed it
Hello! It would be a very long walk from the train station to the beginning of the trail since you have skirt a mountain. So take the bus. It drops you off right at the beginning of the trail. From there you can take the tunnel shortcut or walk over and around the hill, which I did in the video. That takes a bit longer. They both join on the other side and take you to the ticket office. The caminito is only possible to do in one direction. Enjoy the trail!
It's very hard to say. But the winter time weather can range from 20 degrees and sunny down to freezing and rain storms. The best is to keep an eye of the forecast and dress in layers to cater for all weathers.
Hi Daniel. I've watched a lot of your videos and I like them all. Very informative, and very well described. I thought Laplander was a pseudonym until I saw your video filmed at you home in Lapland. I always thought you were Irish because you have an Irish accent. Is that where you learned your English?
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy the videos! The name "Laplander" is as you suspected a pseudonym, originating from the area I hail from. The Irish twang I have picked up from Irish family and friends. Have a great day!
#Danielle, where did you purchase your tickets? I understand that they need to be purchased in advance. I want the longer route. I might as well get the whole experience. Thank you.
Hello! Thanks for the comment. That depends a lot on what you are looking for. I can recommend you sit down and make a list of need wants. A budget and study the locations. Visit and get a feel for your candidate areas if you can. Then contact a local agency with good reviews and give them the list. They will present options. I personally like Benalmádena the most. That's why I love here. And if you choose Benalmadena, you can pm me in Facebook or Instagram. I have a very good contact that can help you. Good luck!
That was recorded last June. And I really recommend it. The walk itself is around 11€. You can find the prices in the comments of the video. Enjoy the adventure!
Thanks so much Daniel - really enjoyed the video. For those of us who are scared of heights, is there a round, less vertiginous, route one can walk? If so, where does it start please?
Thanks for your comment, Kim. There is no way though the pass, except the caminito, but they're are trails to walk in the area. One circular trail you can do is to take the path I went, but turn at the entrance to the caminito and head on back out the small, long tunnel you saw at the beginning. That should take a bit more than an hour. It's a lovely trail.
@@DanielLaplander That’s great to know Daniel. Thank you so much. I’ve added this and La Vinuela Pueblo (and the reservoir) to my “must see” list next time we’re in Andalusia. Oh and the bodegas just outside of Ronda. A Vlog on either would be greatly appreciated!
You are welcome. And thank you for the suggestions. I have made a travel vlog abut Ronda, but not specifically at the bodegas. I'll have a look into it.
Why would the Spaniards allow a plane to crash on that mountain for a Hollywood movie...but CGI didn't exist in those days. There were other effects that could have been used.
You are truly a spanish ambassador with videos like this. Please continue with your awesome job. Well done.
Thank you very much! I will definitely continue.

Amazing video the scenery is breath taking must give this a try next year thanks for sharing Mike uk.
You really should. Just make sure you book months in advance if you go in the high season. It’s an amazing hike!
The beers and wines are so good in Spain.
The best, in my opinion.
My husband and I think you have some of the best videos about Spain that we have seen on youtube. Thank you!
That is quite the compliment! Thank you so much! It's encouraging to hear. More to come soon. Have a great day!

Thanks Paul! Well, I am Swedish but you are correct. I’ve always had tight bonds with people from N.I and also spent time there. It’s funny that you noticed.
Well done with the filming and editing! Great job and a high production value. You've earned a new sub!

@@DanielLaplander maybe you could add some drone footage in the future. just an idea for additional info.
Unfortunately, the new regulations forbid drones in the area, due to its proximity to the airport. Though I´d love to be able to use one.
awesome video,
looking forward to the latest content elsewhere.
God bless you
I understand what you mean. Thank you! And good luck with your own unique channel!

How long was that 3,5 hour walk, in km?
It’s 7,7km according to their website. But I stopped and filmed a lot, so it took me much longer than three hours.
This needs to be in 4k...!

I never had goat. Does it have a turkey, chicken or lamb flavor?
They have all sorts of food on the menu, to cater for everyone’s needs and wants.
What is the avocado, mango and fresh cheese dish called and may I have the recipe? Please!
I’m afraid the restaurant keeps the recipe a secret. But I hope you can go there and try it out for your self. Have a great day!

Go for it. 😜

That is a very good question. 😂
Never enjoyed a woman screaming. That scream just took away some of the enjoyment I was having looking at the view's. What was she screaming about!!!!
It’s quite scary to walk across. But I don’t know who screamed. 😂
