I see some of the comments say this is boring and not funny but personally thats fine all i know when i was young Dave made me laugh so much snd that will do me just fine thank you .
He never switched off , my wife and I saw him shopping in Marks and Spencers in High Street Kensington , walking around very slowly in the ladies department , he must have known people recognized him , he picked up some ladys knickers from the display to examine looking at it puzzled !
Still, my two favorite Dave Allen skits are the one with the 10 pound note stuck under the car tire (tyre) and the one where guys are walking to work together: - 10 pound note: ruclips.net/video/sA-iF45pOlI/видео.htmlsi=9VlApJntMnBgxK-e - Guys walking to work: ruclips.net/video/N7vUVe18GQU/видео.htmlsi=-iwJqk7o4umrgIP4

You don't get great comedians like Dave Allen anymore Dave and dick Emery's style and their comedy were brilliantly written having this type of sketches is none existent now because of so-called political correctness gone mad writers have to be careful what they write in fear of affending these so called snowflakes😢
At 1m 46s she says "Your wife Catherine should have nothing to fear from you and i going for a scamper in the orchard . . . " The correct grammar should be " . . .nothing to fear from you and ME".
No repatory theatres, no real audience participation learning their craft over years, before exposure to TV and the net. No talent nowadays, lack of real education and vocabulary
Some scenes are still funny, but many of them bored me too, mostly cause i already knew how it would end. If you compare it to monty pythons, it already was a bit lame that days i guess.
Dave was the best comedian ever. Love these. Thank you.
I lived in England for 3 years in the early seventies and never missed Dave Allen's show. Sadly we never got it in the States.
It used to run on PBS with Monty Python
@@silvermoss1776 Never got PBS where I lived.
The old comedys are still so much better than modern day.
YES…found it, the sketch featuring Dr Crippen….thought of that sketch the other day…..😅😂🤣
"Engine powered by steam!" 🤣🤣🤣
I like the jewelry thief! 🤣🤣🤣
Love this. Thanks for posting. Never seen these before

Boy, this was *so* much funnier 40 years ago (but back then it was extremely funny).
love dave so funny
Priceless! from the days when comedians were actually funny.
Thank you for you sharing this !
I guess humour is subjective. Some people didn't like this but I got a few chuckles especially from the last one
Those were the days when humour was funny and enjoyable to watch. Very little can match it now.
good wit is for the ages
I miss the days of clean slapstick humor.
the best x

I always got the impression that he'd have made a great straight actor as well.
Yep 100% , i reckon the likes of harry Enfield and paul whitehouse too. Dive right into character.
He did do some straight acting. He did a play in the 70s, A Pagan Place, and a movie called One Fine Day which is on RUclips.
When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought it was Pablo Escobar.
He was another comedian who shunned profanity. Very artful.
Nonsense. He was responsible for the BBC issuing a public apology in 1990 after MP's in the House Of Commons complained about him using the F word
I ve seen him live I don’t think I can agree. He was bloody funny though

What is/was the name of this fair haired actor in the start of this sketch at 4:30?
He's familiar...
Michael Sharvell-Martin (was, Died 2010)
Sadly missed.

@@davefave4351 Look for Dave Allen - Ghost story, and there it be.
Wish these repeated on British tv
I also loved Dick Emery as well
What's the skit where he was told to hide in the closet by his wife?
he was irish

Look up Ricky Gervais or Jimmy Carr.

Aaahh yes indeed. I am forever correcting my family on this. You and me will sort out the English speaking world one day... oops! 😉

Love it, but canned laughter is the worst accompiment
It was a live studio audience who watched it and that's their laughter.

I used to really love Dave Allen. Then his show was replaced by Benny Hill, which I despised.
Not funny
Boring
this is not in any way funny anymore. Great in the 70's, absolutely boring today.
Well, you Germans have no sence of humor😂😂😂 Daves Sketch in which he as a priest is collecting for the orphans is timeless. So what is funny for you?
Speaking of yourself.

Nice try Dave, but you did not really rank with the best
