I am truly sorry that this happened to you.
You really should put her name out there.
It sounds like there was several red flags. Most people think going to court is easy, it is not. In order to receive your judgment, you must know where that person banks at. This is why I would never do event without full payment three weeks in advance. Put her name out there, if she did it to you, she’s going to do it to someone else.
Definitely wasn't a down video, it was an educational video, with a beautiful view of your work. Blessings for sharing your story one we can all learn from ✌🏾🙏🏽

This setup is stunning!! This scenario is so disheartening. I know you lost money and, most importantly, your time. However, a valuable lesson was learned. Situations like this are especially disappointing because you know that this isn't how you conduct business and you expect the same level of professionalism from fellow business owners. I heard this a long time ago ... "You can't expect you from someone else." Your creativity and passion for what you do is inspiring. That event planner should be absolutely ashamed of herself. The fact that she intentionally cheated another fellow vendor! She should be outed so this doesn't happen to others. Your work was beautiful and I'm surprised that the actual client didn't respond?? I wonder if she had stiffed the event planner on fees who knows.

Same thing happened to me! I'm more cautious now. Deposit first then FULL payment BEFORE you even consider ordering or inflating one single balloon. The upside is Your installation is Beautiful, you scored a wonderfulI picture from all of this and teaching your followers not to fall into the same situation. Thank you for being so transparent!

Yes ma’am. This happened to me. I didn’t put this person on contract because I trusted her. I did her wedding decorations at her church AND her balloons for her reception. No deposit. When I showed Up to get paid, she said what are you talking about. I later learned that every vendor was scammed. I immediately changed my policies.
Wow! Not at the church. Smh! So sorry to hear that you had to go through that, as well. Lesson learned though those policies were updated and hopefully enforced next time around. Thanks for sharing your story!

I'd expect more from a doctor too! Although she wasn't the direct customer I would've felt so bad and I would've reached out to the event planner and we would've worked together to get you your money. Because my faith is set up different too! I could never do that to someone. Look at all of this work. All you can do is learn from this.
Expectations get us every time but when your faith is setup different all we can do is learn from it and set new boundaries.

I respect your work ethic and you did an excellent job. I know this happened last year but the planner should not be let off the hook and she should be EXPOSED in every fashion. The full payment within 4 weeks is a bit much but you're doing it based on your experience. Best of luck in your future endeavors..

This is a different venue and client this looks Amazing! Just be careful next time, if client doesn’t show at the Venue before set up, Then no balloons, at least you keep the deposit and make it a big deposit ❤

You’re welcome. Glad to help! No, it typically doesn’t cause damage. I usually use it on the back of backdrops and floors and on the front of backdrops I use clear gaff tape not the black one.

Alhamduuillah! Thank you. I only spoke to the venue afterwards and they were waiting for a second payment from an additional add-on last minute. They wasn’t trying to share to much information though.

Thank you. Yes, it’s strong I don’t use it on walls mainly on the floor or back of backdrops but because the paint on the pole was rough, I felt more comfortable using the tape.

Do gaff tape take the paint off?
Depending on the paint, I typically use the black gaff on rough surfaces but the transparent gaff I can use on any painted surface without any issues.
Best friend so sorry you had to go through that nonsense,, Even if , since the client may have paid the event planner and felt that she (the client) had nothing to do with it , But if I was the client , I would have been pissed that my planner didn’t pay you , because I’m sure the client paid the planner for that amazing balloon display , So that means The Planner Scammed her also , by charging her for a service that she received for free. So I would hav been pissed with my planner , and would have been all in it .

Hi i just came across this video. What about creating a contract between you and your clients and make them sign the contracts before you start any work for them. Having a policy is great because verbal agreements dont always go well.
Absolutely. I list terms and conditions on the invoice as a form of contract but in this case I didn’t enforce my own policy.

You are so roght. Went through something similar in my industry but it was with a church which made it even more painful. Didn't take them to court. Felt so violates. I had to break. But the lesson is no half stepping with anyone or They Will take advantage.
