Remember when people thought Transformers was the pinnacle of mass-produced garbage, and then you see a Marvel movie’s Behind-The-Scenes and it’s just green screens and underpayed VFX artists? Now the old Transformers feels like they vintage classic Hollywood with stunts, practical effects and elaborately designed sets
Yeah transformers at this point would be in like seventh place or something with modern franchises
These were my favorite movies growing up. The action always felt more real than any marvel or DC movie; and after seeing behind the scenes I understand why. Even my young brain was able to decipher between real action and CGI scenes, and the real scenes have it this quality that always stuck with me. I love all 5 movies, especially 1, 3 and 4

i really hate how the transformers are underrated
Shia was just so freaking incredible in the Transformers movies. Thé performance felt so natural and real. Sam was easily the best protagonist in the live-action Transformers movies. It also very sad what happened to him after the movies. That’s why it’s so wholesome just watching these “behind the scenes” videos to just see them all have a good time together. I will FOREVER protect these movies. They are AMAZING!
Cause he is a great actor.

the amount of effort put into this film is AMAZING. You can see the pure passion and artistry especially the military aspect and the practical effects, explosions and the CGI that still holds up!

You know, these movies, especially this one, aren’t perfect. But considering how everything (except the transformer characters) were done with practical effects is kinda impressive. Especially considering how the following year would bring birth to the MCU and start CGI-ing just about everything possible.

I wrote something very similar on Reddit about TMNT. I LOVE the original 1990’s movies. Pretty much everything was practical, including the absolutely amazing martial artists inside a suit with animatronic heads. Perfection. Not really a fan of the new all cgi movies, and Megan wasn’t my personal favorite for April.

These guys are artists. Making movie is a just a front for doing some cool shit. I still don't think the films are movie magic, but this documentary gives me such an appreciation for what it's like to do this on American scale. The Megatron set is what blows me away.
There's not much Michael Bay says that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about Michael Bay.
I'm surprised that he was initially reluctant to do the movie since it would automatically involve three things that he loves: Loud action, fast vehicles, and huge explosions.

Are you guys like 5 or something? Make your own damn Transformers, hell go to GoBots or some shit, go cry about it and make death threats to the staff for adding flames to Prime's truck.*
