Interesting. I grew up in Greenville, SC back in the 1960's. Vietnam came along and I went in the Navy in 1967 and never looked back. One hitch in the Navy, after that I worked as a civilian contractor in Vietnam and ended up in Chandler, AZ in 1977 and I've been here ever since.

Love your channel. Loved the great story. You seem very humble GOD first always. Lovely family. I’m wanting to get my own truck. I started driving 8 years ago ran with a bad company after training. Now I’m looking to get back into it because of this virus and I can’t wear a mask for 8 hours a day plus where I live we are only at stage two and we are a tourist town. So I will be starting over at 48 years old with a young family, and yes I’ll be doing my training with swift. Lol take care I pray nothing but the best for you and yours.

I am a paralyzed vet man your story give's me hope in today's youth my father owned his own trucking company my whole life just make time for those boy's man hard life when dad's not around and you are a kid man I am 54 so it come's a lot faster than you think just be there for them or someone else will I know not trying to rain on anything but sometimes little boy's need there dad bro

2005 GT Mustang, sold it cause I needed a 4wd to ensure getting to work here in the Midwest during the winter. As you're well aware those Mustangs, especially mine since it was lowered, did not like the snow. Best and prettiest car I've ever owned.
CDL driver for just over 5 years here, but I work for the man, started regional and did that for 3.5 years till I went to a city driver position in a day cab. I love it but the money sucks. Your video's have me interested in maybe starting my own authority but still leery about it.
Love your channel! You’re a inspiration to a lot of people. I actually lived in Peoria when I was growing up. My dad and sister still live out there. Actually both close to surprise. It’s expanded a ton out there! Went out there this year and I couldn’t believe how much work they put in out there. Even put in a new freeway. God bless you and your family!

I found your channel just a short while back but it is one that I anticipate most. I am a week or so from finishing CDL school and you are setting a great example of success. I have so many questions each and every post as I am trying to get as much information as possible so I can set goals. One question I have that I have not seen addressed is how did you develop relationships with brokers while being a company driver? Or did you wait till you were an O/O and find it easy to find them and talk to them? It seems like they would be the key to everything you do as an O/O. Same goes for the load boards. How did you find the right ones to use?
Congrats on getting to CDL school watch more of my older videos I go through all the apps that I use and how I gain relationships with just a few brokers mostly just over email threads talking about different loads I was interested in

A wise person said, "people aren't happy because they have money---they have money because they are happy". Listening to this video, we share a ton. I've also been through a lot of ups and downs, but when I look back at things, I was always happy and optimistic as you are. I spent one night in jail in Scottsdale where I went to H.S. at age17, which scared me straight. Felony 'pot' charges dropped the next morning. Oddly, I was optimistic even then. Became worth a million at age 35 with my small business, then 3 million 6 months later. I wasn't too excited, but I thought I should at least celebrate. I stayed home from work that AM, got a floating chair, a beer, and a cigar, and into the pool....for about 10 minutes. It just wasn't something I was excited about. Having money is nice, but it is nowhere near as nice as people who don't have it think it is....I've seen it from both sides. God bless and continue to enjoy the real blessings of God/Family.

Hey dude. Your candor with your personal story is fantastic!! But please make sure you are putting money away for retirement. Also, those beautiful kids only get more expensive as they grow older. Wives too!! A good rule of thumb is that by 40-yrs old you should have 3x the projected money needed for retirement saved and working for you. By 50 yrs you should have at least 6x your projected need amount. Not judging you at all. Much depends on your business growth plans and your spending needs (not "wants"). But be careful!!
