Fun fact, I'd love to use the Helm of Arcane Acuity, but I left it on a hireling and then dismissed them back to the fungal plane or whatever it is, lost all those items....
Why not use duelists prerogative and why not use another ring and necklace and why not use huger rarity hand bows ? I’m corius to if you’re do that will it slice things up ? Or make this build weaker ?
you should compare this to the blade dancer build and see witch one comes out on top. 6 in fighter using battle master sub class. 5 in bard with college of swords subclass and 1 in war cleric sub class
I like to take Sharpshooter at level 4; but doing that does require a two level dip in fighter or ranger for archery fighting style and creates a couple of awkward levels from 4-6. I think if I had to do it again I'd go your way and respec at level 8 to 6/2 Bard/Ranger (or fighter). Taking Ranger gives you a level 6 spell slot because ranger is a half caster class so at the end you'll be a level 11 caster. Taking fighter gives action surge. Pick whichever you prefer :)
Let me know how it works out for you if you try it again! Ranger is one of my favourite classes, my main DND character is a rogue ranger multiclass and it's so much fun!
Current playthrough is with a sword bard and dual hand crossbows. Very enjoyable build. For some real carnage, try combining the dual xbows with Flourish + Haste + Smokepowder Arrows. For whatever reason, my build seems less effective in melee than yours.
@@NewDengs I think I worked out the melee problem with the Armor of Agility you showcased. That pushed my AC up to 28 (well 27 w/o Warding Bond.) Part of his problem is that he can self-cast haste, but since it's a concentration spell getting whacked in melee can easily break the spell.
No because it's a pure build... because I made builds for every single subclass not using a multiclass I also don't buy into what's 'meta' or 'min maxing' so maybe if you look hard enough you'll find a sword bard build of mine using Kurwin's Cuteriser ;)
My only problem with playing bard is having to look at the terrible grammar on the description of song of rest. "As if you would have taken" - ugh. It's "as if you had taken".
If you were paying attention to your skills you would have some useful ones such as slight of hand and not need knock. Ignoring them on a bard loses much of the point of the class.
It’s not a case of ignoring, it’s a case of letting people choose what they want for RP purposes instead of Min Maxing purposes. A theme I do for all my builds
Band of the Mystic Scoundrel and Helm of Arcane Acuity breaks this even more.

@@NewDengsi sold mine to the merchant in last light inn and hoping they return in act 3
@@ratthew2843 I feel like we've all done that at some point too
@@NewDengs gloves of the battlemage is a workable alternative, but the helm is better.

“cuz it’s like hold person but on steroids” 💀 i was focused so when i heard that i lost it haha
I think it’s a fitting description 😂

It's such a fun build, regarding the melee, I'm not entirely sure what the difference could be strangely

can you guys just name your builds "crossbow bard"?.. every single " sword bard build" just uses crossbows instead cause its "meta" smh..

@NewDengs I can't seem to find this video.
I mean it is absolutely broken so i suppose i understand why people do it.
Personally i find it so broken it kinda ruins the game a bit.
Any advice for a Multiclass?
Fighter, maybe this will help ruclips.net/video/uE8eTqGtwek/видео.html ;)
What if you want to deal big damage with a sword
Check out my battle master pure build 😉
@@NewDengsThanks ill have a look at your channel, Is the build you mention for Bard?
Fighter, but if you go to my BG3 builds playlist, I have like 80 videos with 5 or 6 bard builds
What hand cross bows are those ?
Just the most basic ones
@@NewDengs do you have something on them for more damage never seen basic hand cross boss like that lol
Nope just the build haha, might be uncommon crossbows at best but I’d have to watch the video again to find out
@@NewDengswhere do I get them do you know ?
Two common hand crossbows?
Yep, wanted to show off just how powerful this build is with basic weapons, and +1's onward etc are really easy to buy or loot throughout the game

Good build, but god damn I can’t stand the console combat
Melee is pronounced mell-ay.
I know, it's a long running joke with some of my earliest viewers
does race not matter?
If you want to min max, sure. But I prefer to make builds that let people play whoever they want to
@@NewDengs I was only asking cus I came to this video seeing if certain races were good with college of swords
If you want the 'best' race for bard, I'd probably suggest a Asmodeus Tiefling or Wood Elf
@@NewDengs I'd go wood half elf for the shield proficiency but wood elf is also good. The move speed buff is insanely good if soloing.
Grey weapons in act 3 dude really
Yes dude, show's just how powerful it can be with basic weapons
