I would not leave with my daughter going through that. I would have waited for the 3 days and then got on my flight to meet the rest of the family in what ever part of the world they were in.

Your traumatic stuff keeps messing up their trips. They had obligations too. Give them a break. Not like you were not springing stuff on them. I call the luggage story bs. It might have happened, but you are being unfair. Sorry this happened, but you sound like a lot.
