Definitely NO EFI. I have no desire to ride a computer on wheels. No need for a rear disc on a bike this small and light. The rear drum locks up easily, so it is plenty powerful. A tachometer would be nice, but not really necessary. What this bike needs more than anything else is tubeless tires. Honda should have used the same tubeless wheels on it they used on the 1986-1987 Rebel 450

Absolutely beautiful bike. I have one just like it (2016 model) bought new from an overstocked local dealer for $3100 OTD. It is parked in my living room. I have put less than 1000 miles on it in the 4 years I've had it. This is what a motorcycle should look like. Beautiful lines, bright shiny paint, lots of polished aluminum and chrome. What Honda calls a Rebel for 2017 is flat out the ugliest bike I have ever seen, period. It is absolutely hideous.
It's to be hoped that Honda will continue to release this style in 2019?. That is to say, the above 250cc Honda Rebel, in it's stunning candy apple red and chrome, with it's sensible twin exhaust system, that adds symmetry and balance to the overall package. Of course if gloss black or another colour is your preferred choice, then it too looks the goods. This style has remained unchanged over many years, proving to me at least, that this particular model has quite possibly reached the pinnacle of it's styling and design, albeit as nod to Harley Davidson, where as they say, imitation can be the sincerest form of flattery. I would think therefore, it'd be a sacrilege to change it. About the only additions I can think of that'd compliment it, would be a matching tachometer and fuel injection. Also, for those owners of the the earlier year models, it almost guarantees a much healthier resale value for their bike, providing they've kept them in pristine condition. As for the 300 and 500 2018 Honda Rebel models, for me, they don't quite capture the essence of the model displayed here, and would hope that they're just another variant/s added to the model line up. The new 2018 Honda Rebels are just assembled from the parts bin, they have nothing superior in terms of styling with the old rebels. the one featured here is truly a splendid model, it's only draw back is that it doesn't have a bigger engine and a rear disc brake, but it's far better looking and finished than the New models. to me it's even better looking than the Honda shadow, honda are just doing steps backwards in design.

This is NOT the 2017 Honda rebel. Fail. The 2016 and older year models looks precisely , overall, like this bike. The 2017 and newer rebels, which I own the 2017, have a 150/80 16 inch tire in the rear and a 130/90 16 inch tire in the front.
