I haul to/from a salvage yard and we were waiting for this but didn't see an uptick when we expected. Until today! Twice a week I run a 50 mile stretch of road 3-4 times back and forth. Today I saw 4 state dicks, 4 DOT and 2 county mounties. I took the back roads after my first run.
Everything you just said I agree should be checked everyday!!!! I haul lots of hazmat both local and OTR and have had level1 inspections . Especially here in California 😎✌️Good video bro
i dont ues PC as we are not allowed to where i work. also very good info as i am really new to this so i am always looking to the older drivers to know what i need to watch out for.
HOS is more manageable with the new regs imo... im not worried about their blitz, i just hate being fkd with for an hour. therefor my lights will be glimmering so beautiful and bright, they will be too mesmerized to flip that light to red.... good luck everybody
I drive a 26 ft box truck On my first day i busted one of my hydraulic lines for the lift gate and had to wait a few hours for it to be repaired Once it was fixed.. I delivered the load.. And probably 20-30 minutes later i am on the highway I was in the right lane and this cop was in the middle lane .. As he was passing me up he slows down hits his blue/Red lights and pulls me over He was like this is a random DOT stop Like mate.. He checked literally everything in my truck.. Plus side is we knew everything was good.. But yea.. That was one hell of an experience
ya i just learn this about 4 weeks ago the are built with the meat of the brakes in the middle and it thins out at the ends for S cam brakes they normally have a ware bar to ware the brakes can be before they need replacing
Question: if you get a level one on a tarped load will they make you pull up the tarps to check? It won't be a problem but I'm just curious if anyone's had it done to them.
I've had to expose tie down before, just enough so they could see in there if you're using pop ups, but usually they can tell from what they see on the rail.
Dot officer: oh I found a problem Person:just bought this truck it's Brand new Dot: yep you got a messed up light Person:WTF Factory Manager: More problems more money for the Dealerships
When you get pulled over, or pulled in, stomp on your brakes 3-5 times quickly. Doing this automatically adjusts your slack adjusters so they will be the correct length for operation. If you do not do this and your brakes are out, they will be out when they are inspected.
@@richardgriffin4663 my favorite is when you say it in 8ths or 16ths and people look at you like you’re from another planet because they slept they math class. 🤣
They should fix the roads first. Then we can talk about safety. And put tricks on wheels of the one of principals sectores what's moving this dad economy.... it's just a shot in the foot.
Mine use to squeak or groan when applied, years ago when I drove one. I don't know what caused it, dust, brake dust, shoes glazed (Probably that) as long as they're adjusted and not cracked you're good.
Excellent video Brian. We had a lot of violations with some of our drivers. Something as simple as not putting your trailer in your eld or not putting in Shipping documents. We use KeepTruckin' ELDs and it blows my mind that some people have such little knowledge of how to do their logs.
@@isaacoakes3378 yeah if you're pulling a trailer DOT requires it be on your log. You also have to put in shipping documents just like you would with paper logs.
@@cjcj6945 I was taught how to fill out a paperlog, however there are so many elog systems out there that you have to rely on your carrier to teach you when it comes to that stuff.
My company has already been on us about this... Im just a day driver pulling fuel tankers but yeah they're on us to get our trucks serviced and gone over before this goes down....
been inspected any number of times (twice in one day in GA last year), keep your books and gear running right. Make sure your service is done. and the truck is clean...... lastly the fastest easiest way to deal with this pucky is climb out COMPLY IMMEDIATELY, and use the word SIR!!!!!!

I'm a Straight Truck/Company driver and watch your vids when I'm getting loaded/waiting to check in or my break 🤙
Great video 👍👍
Stay at home during blitz week. Better be safe then sorry! Also dot does check tire pressure if they can't find other things to go after.
Saw one vid where the driver got knocked for a fire extinguisher that was missing an updated inspection tag.
Its about revenue. If they want to improve safety they'd build more safe parking and prohibit team driving
why team driving?
it should be a 72 hr period where goods stop flowing thru the Country.
Lol
Staying in home.
Drive at night and dodge them like China flu.
hell yes..i avoid them scales like a plague and not because im over loaded..
Also haul farm equipment on weekends when the cops are at birthday parties..
I only deliver medical supply and eld is exempt.

You didn't mention 8 days? Blank paper logs. I say we all go on a week long vacation!
I did forget! 🤦🏼♂️
Thanks Driven Trucking! The one thing about working for the gov know need to worry the Blitz!
I’m glad I still use a coloring book instead of that high tech eld 😎
I wish!
You and me both. It’s a magical time machine 🚛💨💨

Also when it comes to HOS, you are supposed to add remaks to every status except for driving, yard move, & sleeper berth.

Nice hat! No pretenders!
Great advice. 👍👍👍
Brake shoes are made uneven. Thicker on s cam side
ya i just learn this about 4 weeks ago the are built with the meat of the brakes in the middle and it thins out at the ends for S cam brakes they normally have a ware bar to ware the brakes can be before they need replacing
I’m local this year so not a whole lot to worry about 😂

Pre-trip duh
Exactly, I guess some drivers don't get it.
Thank god for paper logs lol

Stay home or buy a new truck there is no in between 😁😁

Slack adjusters- no more than 1 inch of play.
The way I make it through DOT blitz week is to take the week off😎
Park truck get in personal vehicle and go home for the week . Spend time with family.
We have this in Australia I get scared when I see them
Who says??

Am I the only driver that is confused about why we say 4 and 2 32nds instead of 1/8 and 1/16? Lol😣😂
OMG it grinds my gears also.

Take the week off
Have your act together. Then you won't have a problem simple.
I always plan my down time during a blitz. However this year I got hit 7 times in 12 days by DOT 🙈
Holy cow that’s a lot!
Yeah...gotta make up for all that lost revenue to the state, due to less motoring public to ticket ("pandemic" )
They got me this morning smh now im at ta getting everything fixed
the ta lmao worst place ever to get things fixed!!!
First 👊🏻👍🏻💪🏻
The hell you been Dixie Mae?!

do you have experience in construction with dump trucks? what if your brakes regularly squeak due to the usual tack oil getting in the system?

Meaning with the elds, they are after uncertified logs. And 8 days worth of paper log sheets in the truck
noticed old ffe trailer behind your rig. b safe
Safety first.
Thank you for taking the time to remained us .
Keep 8 angry pit bulls and no leashes in your truck to avoid inspections.
They will come at you with 12 german shepherds w/o leashes. 🐕🦺🐕🦺🐕🦺
They will kill your dogs..
not a trucker but i like your content! im thinking about maybe a career in trucking. i love hitting the road .
If you want to sacrifice your life, for a truck, have at it.
Have the dates been published?
from what i have looked in to its 4-6 of may but dont quote me on that.
may 4-6
Good information! Another thing that should be with the instructions for the ELD is a paper log.
Good call, forgot about that 👍🏻
