For him, retirement means spending more time with his wife (he's been married to her for over 60 consecutive years. He's already spent plenty of time with her). Most people that he actually wants to do something with are either in a nursing home or dead. You ever wonder why many older men retire and then come out of retirement 3-5 years later? They'd much rather be at work than at home with their wives!
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that most guys go back to work is because their retirement messes up the whites daily routine! So she tells him to go get a job!! 😂😅
A common answer I hear, particularly from people that worked manual labor jobs: They got bored. They went from doing difficult, physical work for long hours every week to just "sitting at home". Some can get into a good hobby, but lots of people just can't stand the "doing nothing" part of retirement and come back. Especially in rural areas where "real men work"
@@hellhound1389 the back must really be the killer. I know a few of those guys and I count myself lucky to have missed that particular injury. Don’t hang on too long, there’s a lot of fishing to be done in this world.
Lmao. Man, I have to say this again. You do an amazing job at portraying several characters and talking bs that happens on construction jobs. I love this stuff man.
Spot on, we have a guy over 65 with us and he is being forced to go into the office due to bad shoulders. He hates the office, but sees no other way of working.
Age of retirement is like age of legal drinking. Both are supposed to be set definitively by law, but they're laughably inaccurate as compared to reality.
Age of retirement has never been set by law though. People have always been able to retire as early or as late as they want- finances and health allowing The law dictates when you can get social security but that doesn't make anyone retire
I tell all the apprentices I teach in class to start saving for retirement now "But you only live once!" someone will always respond I reply, "Exactly! This guy gets it! You only live once and you don't want to spend that one time as a broke b!tch during retirement"
My paternal grandfather didn't get the chance.(long before I was born) They found him on the floor at work when the guy on the next shift went down to relieve him.
The labor shortage!!! I tried to find multiple companies to plow my driveway this winter. They never even quoted or talked price. They all just gave me a polite "We're not taking on more clients in your area at this time." And, I live in one of the most densely populated areas of the US. We actually have road signs that say "Caution for pedestrians! Highly populated area!" Ask for raises and more money, guys! I do not want to be parking at the bottom of my driveway and out freezing in three feet of snow at 4AM trying to shovel my car out so that I can get to work on time! Dang insurance company actually requires me to have my driveway fully plowed so that fire trucks can get all the way up it in case there is a fire! You guys are selling yourselves short! There is probably a labor shortage of 30,000,000 working men in America right now... and most of the boomers are still kicking!
I'm glad I got out when I did!!! 2 surgeries On both arms and more nerve blocks on my back than I can count "good times " thou!! 20 yrs ironworking and welding
My mate was a bricky over here in the UK....a few years ago, he looked out the window in the morning, its was raining, went back to bed and told his missus he was retiring....after 2 yrs of staying in the house with her, he went back to work....
Just turned 30 and all of a sudden I have all these new and exiting pains I've never had before. And something pops every time I move. Back still feels great tho.
Retirement is, I've been with my old lady/wife for 34 years. Just turned 51. I'm Union. I'm hoping rule of 85 applies. I need to retire from that b**** with full benefit.
I've been with her almost 40 years, turning 58 in DEC.... Factory has no kick out date for employees, couple of folks in their late sixties and can't seem to get ahead.....most of us live paycheck to paycheck..... Union burned us twice , so our pension is a joke , $480 bucks per month if I go now after 31 years......honey do list gets longer at home so I might retire later than expected...... Six of us made a packed , (drag me outside this factory because I don't want to die in their ) We have had two die inside already over the years......just kick them aside and keep the shithole running , no respect for the dead there.....😞😱
I normally don't say much I'm 62 Bennett industry since I was 14. I'm going to retire at 65. 3 shoulder surgeries had both knees worked on. 12 nerves in my back burnt three different times. My co-workers laugh at me every time I get up or get down. I'm trying to figure out if I'm still going to be able to drive a truck when I retire at 65. Ceresco ain't got s***anime me
Live in Denmark and after the government pyramid scheme aka pension. I already know I going to work to about 2 years before I die. Shit people could go on pension at 62 when I was kid.
Roscoe is right about retirement. If your married ,single with lots of baby mommas don’t even think about retirement. As far as the government is concerned you can work and pay your taxes even after your dead.
If you red states would supports unions you could retire with some dignity and some life left. I’ll be retired as a union carpenter at 55. At least have the option. 30 and out , all my kids will be adults wife will be 52 and I’ll get a guaranteed income for probably 5500 a month , plus my social security when I’m 62 ( or wait till I’m 65 and get more ) plus my own personal investments IRA and two rental homes
Unfortunately a lot of that is because people live with the mentality but just because something doesn't hurt that bad they think that it's not doing that much damage to them. In reality if it hurts there's always the possibility that it's causing permanent damage even if incrementally. You might not notice the damage now... But 5 years of doing that same thing over and over again and living through that little bit of pain will invariably make the pain a little worse every single time until you've got permanent damage that cannot be reversed. People need to listen what their body is telling them and stop doing something if it causes them pain instead of trying to toughen up and pull through it.
S hit f up my back in 84 now can't turn my head and God forbid if I have to squat might as well call a bamblance and I still have five more years to go . RICKY BETTER MAN UP ! AND GETERDONE

One knee and one shoulder, but my back still works….10 more years.
Two knees and an elbow. 😂

Surgery on both shoulders, one knee, my neck, and back luckily I'm the owner so they can wheel my corpse off the job

Been plumbing 45 years and I got parts hurting I didn't know I had. About to get my 3rd set of knees before I can't work with insurance!
I hope you can at least enjoy your family and life.
Roscoe will retire when Ricky goes to the nursing home to change his Depends for him
Yeah if your working construction, don't expect many oem parts at the end. Gonna be a lot of autocraft tags on your parts to keep you going

Two double knees? That’s serious business, right there!
2 knees, 2 shoulders, 1 wrist, 1 back. I'm done.
Roscoe is getting younger with each video
One surgery down. I’m starting to see light in this tunnel.
Im 3 back surgeries in, and no retirement in sight! 😂..... ... 😪
By the time anyone gets to retirement age, there will be no money left at all
Preach
That's about right 😂
Ask me too dig the hole! Shit don’t get done until I get there 😅😅😅😅

I've got my retirement set and I'll be able to enjoy it when I'm 147 years old, no problem.
Laughing on the outside, but feeling pain inside.
👏🏼😆👏🏼 Yup 🤜🏼🤛🏼😆

My back feels this....
Woo hoo! According to his surgery chart I'm only one away from retirement!
Yeah, you forgot the part where you spoke to turn your head and call right. We love you keep it up man we're love it thank you
The solid truth about this video? There needs to be a….. MOVIE!!! We need a breadstick Ricky & The Boss movie!!
#81 👍 it sure was fun.
Yep that's what I was thinking
Retirement...Retirement...There ain't no Stinking Retirement.
the term "age is just a number" IN ANY CONTEXT, is just a scary thing to hear someone say, XD!
I can't afford the 6 months off to get what needs done. I would just lose the job. So, work through the pain.
I love your videos
When all said and done nobody retired. Lucky to eat
Keep on keeping on

Both my shoulders are done thank goodness for Advil
I like roscoe he’s my favorite Lol 😂
That physical job description test is a lil x-rated😂 man what are they Doing to construction workers😅
Once robotic exoskeletons are in the work place like in Japan, the word "retirement" will be removed from the dictionary.

Very very true!!!!
Saving this
That's all very true but my empty wallet tells me to keep toughen it out.
@@johnstickles6789 For real. It amazes me that people will go out of their way to blame the injured person for working to support their family.
Really? You sound like the safety man. For most of us, life doesn't work like that.

My husband would have loved thiis
👍👍
Im about to have back surgery number two in a few months.... I guess im good for a while.
I'll retire when the second shovel full goes in!!!

life sucks... for working
just had a knee went back to work Monday PT told me a little to early lol
Tell him boss man
let's stretch it and say 20 years
I found this more depressing then funny because
it’s the truth
So... the "workforce" of that company is basically 3 'alter egos' of Ricky and Roscoe as himself?
Yep
👍
Roscoe isn't retiring until his back blows out like an old clock
Please make a tv series deal with somebody bro 😂
😂 💪
Knees? What are knees? Do you mean that joint in your leg that rules your whole body?
What the hell is retirement age? Even if I have limbs hanging on by duct tape, I am going to wind up being like Roscoe.
Well… at least he is honest?
The problem asked me to dig the whole
Yup....
Good thing i'm lazy I'll just drop where I drop
Got dang, ain't that the truth

I just figured out that these 3 different people are all the same!!!???
