For everyone saying that it looks too "human", lets just review some past TOHO Godzilla films that focused alot on humans.
1: Gojira (1954)
2: Ghidrah, the 3 headed monster (1964)
3: Destroy All Monsters (1968)
4: Godzilla (1984)
5: Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991)
6: Godzilla vs. Destroyah (1995)
7: GMK (2001)
All of these are rated as some of the best films in the entire franchise, and they focus ALOT on the humans!
Thank you! I'm getting kinda sick of people complaining that this film looks like it's going to focus on the human characters. It's clear that those people have never seen the original Godzilla movie, which was a very character driven film.
Almost every Godzilla movie has a compelling human drama - take the very first original movie as an example. So, don't complain about the boring human love drama etc in the scene. All Godzilla movie are not only monster vs monster flicks, it involves the emotions of humans too!
I'm glad for this. 1954 had war footage in it, disturbing you know. I like how this one is turning out.

Now that's Godzilla! He actually looks better than when I first saw him. His neck was so large kind of like the 1998 version but here it's thinner and looks much better.
This Godzilla is supposed to be the real animal that inspired the '54 film that this new film will try to match.

Let me get this clear:
This is a reboot to the Godzilla Franchise/1954 Film. It's Godzilla's 60th Anniversary. This not a damn sequel to the Zilla' 1998. That wasn't Godzilla. That was an Entirely different Kaiju. Enough with the "Why are they rebooting Godzilla".
As for the idiotic Breaking Bad jokes. Enough of them! Yes, Bryan Cranston's Walter White character was phenomenal. But the series ended. He's a DIFFERENT character now. In a entirely different series to be exact.
To those that are saying, "Is that Gigan"? Or "Is that Mothra?" No. There will be NO TOHO Kaiju in this film, except Godzilla. The MUTO's which are the new monsters in this film.
Last but not least: Those that are saying, "Just nuke'em." Or " Jaegers can beat Godzilla." Please,get serious here. Godzilla is King of All Monsters for a reason! He fought mere robotic replica's of himself. Survived in Lava for years. Survived a Black Hole and Meteor POINT BLANK. What makes you think Jaegers can take him on?

He practically is supposed to be the one who fends off other monsters who do attack the city. One reason the 1998 Godzilla sucked in my opinion because he was seen as a terrorizing monster.

Most documentaries show lions packs taking down the young premature elephants or elephants who came in a wrong place. Most elephants who have their own domain usually own it.

So I saw the Wondercon footage and...freaking hell. I'm not joking that it was intense even when recorded with a camera and up on my PC screen. It was so intense and ended with Godzilla rolling his shoulders before letting out his signature roar before engaging the first Muto. It gave me chills and it was really entertaining to watch.
Hell yes omg it didn't even matter how shitty the quality was, even with that I had massive chills and I had to calm myself down. Just imagine what it will look like in the theater.

Madara Uchiha While Godzilla is male in this movie, and in the English version of the Toho movies we refer to Godzilla as "he" the Japanese used the equivalent of "it" and that the OG was actually a "she" so I guess it's okay to say "it." It's more of a preference really

Every aspect from all these trailers and TV spots pretty much guarantees that we'll root for both Godzilla AND that the human cast will survive! How many Godzilla films are there where you actually care about the humans? Not too many.

I love Godzilla. But not as much as my dog, Lucy. Whenever she hears his roar while I'm watching one of his movies, or I stand up and say, "Godzilla!" she gets all excited and runs around for a few minutes. I think she thinks he's her boyfriend.!

That's pretty much what it is. This is a serious look at Godzilla, similar to Gojira 1954. Godzilla is the embodiment of Nature in this movie, he's a force of nature created by nuclear energy. And when human's somehow create MUTO's and throw away the balance, Godzilla is used to restore that balance.

I've gotta admit, after seeing the Asian trailer I had doubts on whether I'd like the look of this new Godzilla. But that shot of Godzilla roaring at the end has redeemed my excitement for this movie.
I feel the same way. I'm not too excited about the monster vs monster angle but Godzilla just looks so badass tearing shit apart.
If you worry about the movie being spoiled...they've released three trailers each about 2 minutes long and about six tv spots each thirty seconds long with footage that we've already seen. Trust me, we've only seen probably a total of 5 minutes of the movie. Plus it's up to you to click play on the thumbnail

I like how during the movie, at the beginning you're like
" Oh, Godzilla's going to be the villain " ( of course, since he's more of an anti-hero I didn't fully think this, but... just your normal movie goer that's probably what some thought )
and then...
" Well, the Mutos are the villains I guess. "
and then, for me, towards the end I slowly realized that humans were technically the villains the whole time.

I love how people complain about Godzilla's screen time even though Godzilla's in the movie for about 9 minutes. How is 9 minutes not enough screentime? In the Original Gojira 1954 movie, Godzilla had a very similar amount of screentime to the 2014 Godzilla.
