      @Imjustsayin99 4 года назад +3

      Oners82 oh, but you do believe that stardust bursts into cells and cells into life and life into fish and fish into apes and apes into talking humans. So about as far fetched of a story as a talking serpent only longer periods of time.

    • @Imjustsayin99
      @Imjustsayin99 4 года назад +3

      According to evolution all life evolved from simple cells into complex organisms. So who are you to say a snake won't eventually develop vocal cords one million years from now? Who are you to say it may have not already happened just because we have no links in the biological chain? What about other planets in the vast universe that may have more intelligent life than ours? There could be talking snakes on those far out worlds. In fact, the aliens in Roswell all look rather similar to reptiles and they are very intelligent. The evidence is overwhelming that have evolved beyond the crude and archaic form of communicating using speech. This is scientific fact; so yes, you believe in talking snakes unknowingly.

    I love Jesus so much that words cannot express. I am very insignificant person but when I hear Dr White speaks about my faith I feel so loved and swell with pride. I know it is the right decision and I know I am on the right path to heaven. Whatever we possessed on earth will turn to dust and atoms but our spirit if right with God via Jesus lives on with him. Oh I cannot wait for that day to come. Jesus thank you for loving me a sinner. I am so blessed. I am nothing without you.

      Why don't you read the bible for yourself instead of blindly following what a man says?
      Would you drink from a glass of water if it had a small amount of poison? (anthrax, cyanide, arsenic)
      Anyone who misrepresents the bible and its teaching is serving 'the ruler of this world' - Satan. 1 John 5:19
      The Trinity doctrine is false - it is not taught in the bible - however, there are advocates that try to distort scripture and take bible verses out of context to support the lie that 'Jesus is the Almighty God'. The bible however, teaches that Jesus is God's son and he himself acknowledged that his teaching originated with his heavenly Father. Jesus taught people to worship the one true God, not himself - Jesus came to earth as God's representative. Read John 17.

    James White is a true hero of the faith. He has been defending Christianity against all attacks for decades. He actually debates against Islam, Atheism, Mormonism, Catholicism and other religions. God uses him in an incredibly powerful way and his abundant knowledge of Christian doctrine and church history. Of course he faces hateful attacks as anyone standing up for the Gospel truth will but it is mostly from people who would never or could not debate the Christian truth against the scholars of other ideologies. Watching hateful supposed Christians attack him is like watching children attack a battleship with spit balls. It demonstrates the difference between being a Christian soldier, dressed in the full armor of God, defending our faith against all who challenge it and the Social Media warriors cloaked in an armchair and wielding Cheetos while attacking anyone they disagree with by their comments and telling everyone else how they think it should be done. James White is a Hero.

    So when were you saved? You must have a time and place where you know God saved your soul. You must be convicted before God will save your soul. When you are saved you know you are saved. It is a peace that surpasses all understanding.

    • @cjheideldude
      @cjheideldude 3 года назад

      I disagree with what I call "a time and a place soteriology". It's good to have a time and a place, but not everyone has a Road to Damascus type conversion like the Apostle Paul. It's faith in Christ that saves us, not repeating magic words or looking to a specific moment in our life.
      Also, we should not look to a time in the past when we had faith to get assurance, we should look now. We should ask ourselves, do I have faith now? Do I love Christ now? Some people may not be able to pinpoint exactly when their conversion was, but they know they are saved because they know they have faith now.
      Furthermore, if you believe like the reformers did, that regeneration proceeds faith, then you must believe that it is God that ultimately determines exactly when and how we are converted.

    We are all falling down a cliff to our deaths. We grab a branch coming out of the cliff to try and save ourselves but it is slowly breaking. We look up and yell "is there anyone up there who can help me!?" God looks down and sees us. He says "I can help you. Trust me and let go of the branch." That is the issue we are faced with. That is reality. Trust God or fall to your death by your own ignorance.

    Those who are spiritually dead cannot and will not accept the things of God. Unless a man is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.
    And when you were DEAD in trespasses and sins, He made you alive and UNITED you with Christ. For by grace you have been saved thru faith and that not of yourselves (the Greek antecedent refers back not only to the grace but also the faith) it is the gift of God so that no one may boast.
    It is by His doing that you are in Christ

    Why would they ask for the hope that you have within you unless it's because of the way you behaved? No, actually, people who ask me, "are YOU sure that you're going to go to heaven" ask me that exactly because I walk up to them and ask them whether they are 100% sure that they are going to heaven. It comes around about once every 2 months, sometimes more.

    I'm always baffled when calvinists think that God "having mercy on whom he will have mercy" think that this supports calvinism. All God is saying is that if you are going to be saved, you're going to be saved by grace, it's not because you or I will that God should have mercy on us, it' because of God's will! God is a God of Mercy, that's who He is and what he does. God WILLS to show mercy! "He saved us not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.." Titus 3:5

  • @terminal_case
    @terminal_case 11 лет назад

    "What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means! For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”..."

    "... So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills."
    Yes, you do. You follow yourself, and what you want the text to say.
    Paul's quote "Jacob I loved, Esau I hated" is from Malachi, and is therefore highly relevant. Paul doesn't say "As it is written, 'the older shall serve the younger'"; he says "This is why she was told 'the older will serve the younger', as it is written (or in accordance with the concept), 'Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated'".

  • @Imjustsayin99

    A Christian is someone who believes in Christ. Period.
    White’s faith as a child is all that was required for salvation. He has no more eternal security with God because he ‘owned it’ or got smarter.
    There’s a great distinction between a mature believer and a babe in Christ; a useless faith and a strengthened faith. But all distinctions are part of the Living.
    Instruction in righteousness pertains to someone living in Christ; not dead. We worship God in spirit; God has nothing to do with dead things.
    James has been a great apologist to his credit.

    • @cjheideldude
      @cjheideldude 3 года назад

      I agree. It's faith in Christ that saves us. We should look to our faith in Christ NOW for assurance instead of looking to a time in the past when we used to have faith in Christ, or repeated a "magic prayer". Not everyone has a Road to Damascus type conversion like the Apostle Paul and that's ok.

    Can men do anything to help themselves?
    Colossians 2:13 - And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespassesEphesians 2:1-2, 4-5 - And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked... I don't disagree with that at all. The problem is this: who is capable of believing? Who, among men, believes? Can depraved human beings believe apart from the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit? And after that, would any regenerate person not believe?

    For that matter, proper division is what enables one to determine which plan of salvation is applicable right now. How do we know for sure that we aren't saved by sacraments and good deeds, or we were predestinated by God before he created everything, or if it's "by grace through faith...not of works" or that we should "be slain in the spirit and speak in tongues"?

  • @rdftreeman

    Are men at least seeking God?
    Psalm 10:4 - In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.”John 3:20 - "For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed."Isaiah 65:1 - "I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me

    Can men of themselves accept God's gift of salvation? Do men choose God or come to Him on their own?

    Titus 3:5 NKJV
    not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
    If "receiving" is a righteous thing to do (and it undeniably is), it therefore concludes that receiving is not the action we are saved by, but by the washing and regeneration of the Spirit, regeneration.

    Calvin says -Again I ask: whence does it happen that Adam's fall irremediably involved so many peoples, together with their infant offspring, in eternal death unless because it so pleased God? Here their tongues, otherwise so loquacious, must become mute. The decree is dreadful indeed, I confess. ("Decretum quidem horribile, fateor." VG: "Je confesse que ce decret nous doit epouvanter.") Yet no one can deny that God foreknew what end man was to have before he created him, and consequently foreknew because he so ordained by his decree. My friend, I'll just make what I have to say short, I became a Christian 10 years ago at the age of 28. I had no influences of denominations or positions of others. I read and studied my Bible. It was all I did. It wasn't until later that I began to see that different positions were held. For example Arminianism and Calvinism. What I saw, through my own previous, was what people had 'termed' as Calvinism. I completely saw the position of the Arminian unbiblical. (Interesting thought below)

    2.
    Sorry I accidentally pressed the post button.
    There are some obvious intentional altering of the scriptures done by the Trinitarians.
    Ex: 1 John 5:7 ; Matt 28:19, and probably some more.
    But even with these alterations the message of the bible is still the same.
    The will of God for mankind, the plan of salvation, the doctrine of one God cannot be altered even with these alterations to promote the evil doctrine of trinity.
    But I firmly believe that even with these alterations

    I mean if "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the words of God" (Rom 10:17), how can anyone attain true "faith unto salvation" since we don't have an inspired translation? Or better yet, how can we "rightly divide the word of truth" if we don't have it? Without God's perfect words, proper division seems futile, doesn't it?

    Malachi 1 is relevant to this discussion more than Genesis 25 is, because Paul is quoting Malachi 1; not Genesis 25.

    I love Romans 9 Greg (great name) Rom 9 is primarily about NATIONS, not individuals, and about SERVICE not salvation! Just for starters "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated" is nothing about INDIVIDUALS but about NATIONS. Don't believe me? Have a look at what the Lord told Rebekah at Gen 25:23:
    The Lord said to her "Two NATIONS are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated;one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will SERVE the younger"

    So just as he has said about other not mentioning sin in their life and a need for repentance , I did not here that in his first 8-10 minutes describing his conversion. I heard that he learned a great deal of biblical knowledge and oh yes the substitution work of Christ taking our sin through his spankings but I frankly did not hear any direction toward repentance, Please correct me if Iam wrong. I think he said something about ordering ones life toward what the bible teaches but is that the same as repentance, possibly, but I also thought I heard something about what he was doing and not what Christ has done. So if everything I stated is accurate than it begs the question that one can come to saving faith if one is taught the things of God because it talks all threw the word from beginning to end that one needs to learn and understand. For myself I know exactly what happened, I listened to the scriptures for a whole year before I was convinced that I was a sinner, not seeking the god of the bible and I was destined to hell if I did not repent and call upon the Lord, my life has not been the same. Iam done

    Reformed theology makes sense. Some people have a problem with the fact that God raises up evil 2 Sam 12:11 God said "I will raise up evil against you from your own household." Isaiah 45:7 God said "The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the Lord who does all these." And the Bible teaches that everything that happens in human history has been decreed by God before time see Proverbs 16:33 and Ephesians 1:11. Still, no one can charge God with evil, God uses wicked people that have wicked intentions to carry out his will but God's intentions are Holy. Isaiah 10 shows God raising up Assyria to punish the Jews but then God punishes the Assyrians for doing what God raised them up to do, why? 10:7 shows their intentions were evil. Joseph's bros sold him into slavery which was ordained by God Gen 50:20 says "You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good." Or the cross read Acts 4 it shows God made that happen but the ones who did it had evil intentions while Gods were good. So, how can God be just for causing terrible things to happen? Because according to his infinite wisdom and judgment even if we committed one sin that makes us worthy of hell see James 2:10 and his wrath is against all sin and all have sinned Romans 3:23 and 1:18 which means we all justly deserve his wrath because his nature is that holy. So, if he has mercy on anyone then that's his grace and grace can't be demanded. God only chooses some and justly condemns others see Romans 9:11-23, Matthew 11:25-27, Jude 1:4, 1 Peter 2:8, John 6:37, Rom 11:8. God makes the nations do his will Psalm 33:10 says "The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations; He frustrates the plans of the peoples." Proverbs 21:1 says "The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He wishes." Daniel 4:35 says "He does according to His will in the host of heaven And among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can ward off His hand Or say to Him, ‘What have You done?" Job 12:23-24 says He [God] makes the nations great, then destroys them; He enlarges the nations, then leads them away. “He deprives of intelligence the chiefs of the earth’s people And makes them wander in a pathless waste." God decrees everything that happens in human history, that's why Romans 9:19-20 says "You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it?" Jeremiah 10:23 says "I know, O Lord, that a man’s way is not in himself, Nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps."

      he doesn't make the people wicked though, they are born sinners due to Adam, and chose to be wicked people. don't blame God for your sins or anyone else's when you choose in your heart to be evil then God will give you that.

      No I don't believe God makes people wicked, what he does is he delivers people over to the sins that they love like Romans 1 teaches. Hyper calvinism which is false does actually teach that though it's called equal ultimacy, they teach God works evil and unbelief in the heart of the reprobate which God does not do that but yeah I agree with you. Some people have accused James White of being a hypercalvinist but he is not, actually Dr. White recently spoke against hyper calvinism at the Reformed con conference.

    Isaiah 64:6 - We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment.Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please [God]Romans 8:7-8 - Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
    The ones who believe and look upon Christ, is this pleasing to God? And are they in the flesh or in the Spirit?

What a hypocrite! Talk about "the way you behave" !

    And is Paul really talking about service if the following is immediately before?
    "though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad-in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls-"
    Does whether someone had done anything good or bad have anything to do with national service? What he then goes on to say with the potter and clay analogy, and all the talk of mercy and destruction: is he then talking about service too?

    I know EXACTLY what exegesis means! What I was trying to convey to you, is that God's word says what it means, and it means what it says. Particularly as regards salvation, not alot of "exegesis" is necessary. John 3:16 is but one example. "For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son that whoever (I think the KJV may say 'whosoever") believes on Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" That verse simply means exactly what it says!

    Why is the comments section on Dr. White's video "Understanding Mormonism" disabled? I've noticed that occurring more and more on sites that presume to tell the "truth" about the LDS church. Makes me wonder if the producer of the videos is afraid of being proven wrong.

    • @KMANelPADRINO

      If the video is on Dr. White's personal channel, then it is because the comment section of his videos often became too virulent for his tastes so that all of the comment sections for his videos are disabled. So it isn't particularly for Mormonism. He mentions the reason for this from time to time when he rambles along about social media and how it almost never encourages fruitful discussion between informed individuals.

    Why do calvinists preach the gospel? There's no point unless you want to claim something YOU did (works) has some part in God's fore-ordained and predestined plan for who he saves and who he does not. That kind of blows the whole not by works... and whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved thing out of the water. Calvinism is a moving target. You can recite word for word back to them what they believe and they'll say you took something out of context or you don't understand or you are reading something into the text that isn't there. Can you say - cult?

    It's not as if I don't believe you, it's that I don't agree with your exegesis, because the context of Romans 9 says nothing about nations. Were they not actual individual people? Were they only nations? Do the verses immediately following the "Jacob/Esau" contrast (14 on through the end of the chapter) have absolutely nothing to do with it? Well.. correct me if I’m wrong.. but isn’t this something that gives Bible, and Jesus word more validity? Did Jesus not say this would happen? “Many will come in my name, but I will turn and say I never knew you, depart ye that work of inequity” forget verse exactly.. but u know what I mean..
    My point is.. doesn’t this notion.. this observation of “”Christians”” can directly relate to these verses..which as I said, will further validate the teachings of Jesus..? This was forseen happening.. by the one who foresee all..??
