I would visit Brighton just to see this Location and to see where Miss Dukes Knickers were hung! ''Well I want you to take my knickers down'' That line never fails to make me laugh.
According to various websites, the west Pier closed in 75, two years after the film. Bytheway, entrance to the Ms Fircombe contest was 50p! depending on what currency calculator you use ..was just under £8 !
They completely ruined Brighton now with that huge tower thing in the way, you notice most tv series try not to have it in a scene , like that latest cop series made in Brighton showing past it and having the wet pier in shot , and that same hotel in front of the pier
I remember going on the pier when it looked like this. The Ghost Train, the bar and the shooting range. Yes, it aeems strange but you used to go down the stairs to the shooting range.
I was in Brighton for the first time ever last Saturday. Always heard so much about it but never got around to actually going there. I was taken back by how massive the size of Brighton is. It would take literally a day, maybe two to really explore all of it. I was thinking mainly about the movie Quadrophenia and the 60s Mods and Rocker battles that Quadrophenia was based on, although I can remember that Carry On movie when they were there too. It's a definite must visit again for me because there was loads I didn't get around to. After stuffing myself with fish and chips I was too full up to walk any further, BIG mistake 🤣. Next time I'll eat afterwards. Cheers.
Its great to see the locations of the iconic carry on films, ...its a shame the changes that have happened over the years, I'm old fashioned , and the romantic in me would have loved the filming locations to remain the same,....loved the carry ons, and still do ,...but the changing face of Britain makes me a little sad , as the times of these movies were golden times, and I have great memories that remain with me ....forever

The most I've done is stand on the pier and try to spot where Delboy stood! Last time there I went after the Max Miller statue. Oh to find Margaret Nolan naked on the beach....... In convenience you see them on the pier going downstairs to the shooting gallery. There is no downstairs on a pier, ive been there recently and cannot see anything under the pier.

I live five mins away from Ealing Studios and South Ealing. Great nostalgia knowing the CO stars walked those streets😊😊😊
