I have noticed that after a result which isn't a win that I need time to separate opinion from passion. I am worried about Wednesday we need CCV back

Aberdeen were able to break the lines too many times on Saturday, a worry against Atalanta upcoming. Need 4 in midfield . Can change formation and still be attacking.

It’s not a case of Aberdeen’s bubble bursting they will not have the squad to sustain a challenge for the duration of a full campaign

      Exactly.
There will come a point in the season where Aberdeen go 4, 5, 6.... games without a win or have a run of "1 win in 7" or something. That wont happen to Celtic.
They done very well on Saturday and we cannot afford to treat them lightly in the SF because over 90 minutes they could beat us on the day. But over the course of 38 games they'll be nowhere near us.

Celtic battered them on Saturday. Hail hail. They got lucky.

You can always learn from games. I’d suggest Celtic are struggling to deal with sides pressing us. A ten minute spell in the Glasgow derby, the Dortmund game and now Aberdeen have shown the defence and central midfield need to be upgraded. I’m not convinced by Taylor and Valle in particular.

For Wednesday I would drop Hatate to the bench, its clear he is not a 90 minute player but he could still help later in a game (if he feels like it). I'd give MacCowan the nod and see if that brings more out of Bernardo also. It does no harm to keep players aware their position in the team is not certain. How much Hatate and Maeda's performance was affected by travelling is obviously an unknown. I think Maeda will be fine. I am worried about bringing CCV into a CL game and he gets injured again, but I guess its better to find out. If CCV becomes a recurring injury then we need to splash out for one or two Centre Backs in January. I don't think its good to be dependent on any one player.

Back to the “participating” thing. You responded directly to a comment I made when this came out that you “understood” that it was just a piece of technical writing. What happened?

I’m puzzled by CCV making long journeys to join the USA squad especially as he rarely plays for them. Is there a financial incentive?

You should win everything having 30 x the money of rest of league😮, yet you get canned in Europe. If celtic don't win every match in Scotland, the board should be gone

There's nothing we can do in europe as no player worth his salt would come and play in Scotland unfortunately. We need to go and play in england to compete in europe

@dnz7558 we do and rightly so so a European super league is a better idea and it's coming soon definitely. There's only 2 teams in Britain bigger than us Manchester united and Liverpool .

2.75 points per game, 3 goals per game, and 0.75 goals conceded per game (Celtic’s current pace) is exactly the same as Ange’s 2nd season that everyone has a masturbatory recollection of.
The collective response to a DRAW is at American-sports-fan levels odd brainlessness.
Remind me the last time any club in any league has won every game across a campaign?

@@Boo1023Boo Great stats for a guy plying his trade in a routine one horse canter, at the most affluent period in our history. Bloody David Gray wouldn't be far off those stats if he was our current boss with the same abundance of resources! 😂
It's nothing to do with a draw against Aberdeen, the writing has been on the wall since last season; scraping over the line against an abysmal Sevco side and playing some of the worst borefest Football witnessed at Celtic Park in a long time. At the first sign of a 'real' challenge in the league and Europe, his erse caves-in, because he has no tactical or strategic clue how to adapt beyond his rigid 4-3-3 model, from a defensive, directed midfield, counter-pressing, shape organisation/movements and mentality perspective. For an alleged 'Elite' manager, his in-game execution is one of the worst you will see across Europe.
Remind me again, who was the last Celtic manager to have a worst European record than Rodgers?? Who was the last manager to have conceded 7 goals and disgraced our once proud European name on three seperate occasions??

  • @Boo1023Boo
    @Boo1023Boo 4 часа назад

    Also:
    1. Anyone who's ever played a competitive sport at any appreciable level knows you just don't get in front of the press and spill your tactics for the next game. Rodgers has made obvious tactical changes in the past. Can we wait to see if he sets up the same against Atalanta before we just *assume* that he will?
    2. May I assist in explaining 'Moneyball' as someone who was in SABR communities for decades? "Moneyball" involved using deeper statistical analysis than box score stats in baseball to identify players that had a top-of-the-line or elite skill that was undervalued and either led to producing runs or preventing runs in a game of baseball. I.e. reaches base often via walks, has a large proportion of extra base hits despite a low batting average, plays elite defense at a position where an offensive player is usually employed. The "money" is because signing these players tended to be less financially stressful to sign than someone who lights up box scores. Maeda is a "Moneyball" player - elite speed, elite defensive forward, does enough to contribute to creating and preventing goals, but doesn't have the attributes that would make him a 20million player.
    3. The pre-lapsarian wailing and gnashing of teeth over the Ange era is embarrassing. Starfelt's turn to be rehabilitated, I've seen Abada, too. I actually really, really liked both guys, but juxtaposing them to the current squad in this season is wild and devoid of any objective evidence. Kuhn is on pace to outproduce anything not only Abada did during his time here, but also eclipse Jota's best season. Objectively, over the first 8 league games, the goal output and point accrual rate is EXACTLY the same as Ange's second season. Why this is ignored but the promotion for MORE whipping boys continues blows my mind. I'm not saying that the team at large or specific results are beyond reproach or critique, because they are not. But my goodness is a collective deep breath needed.
