I am so glad you didn’t give up on the black page like you have in the past. The colors look so different on the darker surface. Although it didn’t come out as perfect as you would have liked, it looks great. Can’t wait to see your oil pastel faces.

This turned out amazingly well! Those clouds are fire, and that portrait is gorgeous! I’m super impressed with how well the oil pastels worked in conjunction with the water soluble crayons!

Thank u!! 🧡 oil pastels are so trickyyy, the first couple times I used them it was a mess. I feel like it’s a careful balance between embracing how messy it gets and controlling it if that makes sense 😂

I recommend doing some more instagram livestresams, it will gain attraction, cause you to be thinking about talking a bit more if there is an audience to talk, and if not it can be like a suggestions stream and just a relaxing stream.

Love this video! But how did you protect these pages? Did you use fixative or wax paper? I’d be so worried they smudge or stick together.
Do you do anything to coat the pastels and stop them from smudging once you close the book? I'm too nervous to use oil pastels in a sketchbook, though I'd love to have the freedom to do so.
There’s no spray that I know of to make it permanent unfortunately, so what I did for this page was tape a large piece of baking paper that covers the whole page! That way when I close it and draw on the other side, the smudging is minimal (hopefully 🥲)

Aaah no worries I don’t find it annoying! I use a Moleskine A4 sketchbook! I usually include it in my description but I forgot lol
