Ram always knew Roswaal was the one who destroyed her village. Roswaal was NOT revealing it to her in this episode, he was _reminding_ her (but it was a reveal for us, the audience). In his POV, Ram must have hated him all this time for being the one who destroyed her village then being forced to work for him. He stated that this level of suffering is uncommonly rare. Therefore, he doesn't understand nor believe Ram when she said she came to save him.
Exactly, BUT, he doesn't really destroyed the village, it's not clear in the anime, but he just let the destruction happened by knowing it with the gospel, so he just don't help soon enough purposely. (And that's why he is showing his gospel to Ram while he says it.)
As the person above said, he didn't go destroy the village. More like he didn't care if the village got destroyed and he could have prevented that if he wanted.
My bros, ofc I know he himself didn't destroy the village. It's shown clearly in the flashback in S1 that it was the Witch's Cult that destroyed the village. In my book, having the knowledge that destruction will occur AND the power to stop it, but letting it happen makes you an accomplice. Quick clarification. Roswal destroyed the village indirectly. He got knowledge of the attack and waited untill the moment Ram gets dehorned. He could have saved the village with 0 effort but decided to not help, making it so he destroyed the village by his inaction
What made Roswall go crazier lately, which Ram mentions, is the appearence of Subaru, since that made his plans closer to a goal or clear objective than before.
I believe a big reason why Ram is now okay working aggainst Roswal is because she lost her memories of Rem. Now its not about securing a place to life for her sister, not praising that guy for saving her sisiter and giving her a chance to shine and so on. She knows there is Rem from Subaru, but she has not the same Connection of importance to her. She is now more directly confronted with her relationship to Roswal. (I love Re.Zeros writing so much]
Maybe stockholme syndrome? Since her memories of rem was erased, all she has left is roswal. Maybe her feelings for rem transferred to roswal? I dont know, still not sure
